Like Vikhyath said, the noise is normal. In the initial days of ownership I thought this bike is meant to be ridden sedately. But I was wrong. If you notice the gear shifting speeds, its actually much more than the other bikes of its category. It cruises at about 65 KMPH and returns 50+ mileage. That is economical for this bike. On days you feel like riding it hard, shift it to Power mode and boy oh boy! What fun it gives you! Mad acceleration! It redlines so fast like Apache. It will cruise at 100 like you are doing some 60 and still give about 42 KMPL!Originally posted by ramedathundil View Post2004 Bajaj Discover 125 DTSi - 26000 KM - Sold

Hi Kantu,Originally posted by kantu View PostAccording to the poll results most of you (1k users) are getting 70kmpl mileage ! Is this true ?
I am not sure of 70Kmpl. But i have got 64 once.
Every week, my GS gives me AT-LEAST 58KMPL. I fill 7 litres of fuel every 4 days and its runs from 410Kms to 422Kms every 4 days.
Awesome mileage for a big 150CC.
Suzuki must show the mileage of this bike to promote its sales.

So today I realized my bike starts at 4K rpm
Brother has been using it with such high rpm.
I got a mileage of 34 because of that. He played with the SCREW I've shown below.

He screwed around with the screw for high rpm. Now I again played with the screw to get the rpm I've shown below.
Now I did not do anything with the GOLDEN screw which I don't even know where is.
Kindly tell me my bike is not screwed & I will now get my regular 50+ mileage.
P.S. Bike's rpm is 3K at 20KMPH. Is it normal ?

Update: Tried again and there seems to be a technical problem with the form submission page. Others please try and let me know.

@rharish90- Not riding the clutch is something we can do to prevent the rough gearshifts but since we already have it, I guess we need to find some other measure to rectify it.
Hi guys!
As you know, my bike suffers from hard gear shifts from day 1. Aryan suzuki never bothered to attend to the problem. They instead told me to ride and said it will smoothen as more kilometers are run.
Finally, after 3rd service and nearly 4100 km run on odo, the hard gears problem remained unresolved. Nothing was done about it in regular serive. So, in between regular service, I took the bike to Value suzuki specifically for hard gears problem. One Mr. Shamseer acknowleged that there was a problem with gears and took the bike for reparis. Got bike next day after repairs. After this first repair, my gs150r hard gear shifts had become smooth. But this smooth gear shifts lasted only 4 days, and the hard gears returned.
So, again, i left my bike at value suzuki for repairs on Nov 9, 2012. This time, i wanted to contact suzuki head office, but that feedback form didnt work. I didnt know how to contact suzuki. Then, i found these email id on suzuki website media center page.
[email protected], 91 9958196169
[email protected], +91 9810090754
[email protected], +91 9711687289
I sent a mail to all these id's stating my problem.
Also, next day, i sent the same in the feedback form. This time the feedback form worked as i used firefox browser. I got a call from a value suzuki service center next day. The service incharge Mr. Arun called me and said they will rectify the problem after checking with suzuki about the parts to be changed. Then, diwali came in between and they said they need more time. Finally, got my bike back after 7 days on Nov 16, 2012. The hard gear shifts had been solved, but it was not as smooth as the first time repairs. Service center said they changed clutch presssure plate, but i really doubt if they changed anything. Seems like they just adjusted the clutch cable. Then, same day, i got a call from suzuki head office. They enquired if problem had been solved. I said currently it is resolved, but cant say how long it will last.
But after repairs for second time, now even my bike engine sounds different, getting a tik tik tik sound with every beat/stroke. Seems like engine oil is less in oil sump. And then, yesterday, just 1 day after repairs, on Nov 17, 2012, the hard gears problem returned. But I still rode the bike today Nov 18, 2012, for 30 km, as i had important work. I have noticed that as the bike engine warms up, the hard gears problem gets worse.
I will ride the bike for few days and check again. I am fed up of going to suzuki service centers and their pathetic service. It is just a waste of time. But is there any other option?Last edited by antonysg; 11-18-2012, 11:31 PM.

Thats the idle screw. Ride the bike for 10 min and when engine is warm set the idle screw, such that rpm reads between 1400-1500 at idle and in neutral. Ensure headlight is off while setting it. When headlight is on, the idle rpm will show 1300 instead of 1400.

Some bikes are having hard gear shifts.. my fazer is the biggest example.. I have used Shell advance Ultra 10W40 oil and it vanished. The engine oil is costly 750 rs / litre. I now use Mobil Delvac 1300 super 15W40 and the gears are as smooth even after 1300 km. Its a pure mineral oil costing around 260-280 per litre. Try it and and enjoy the smoothness in your ride.Originally posted by antonysg View PostHi guys!

But anyways, one of the members (Phanikar) told me that these modes actually change the CDI mapping of the bike. Power mode makes it slightly aggressive. So in power mode, the bike revs freely and reaches redline very easily and quickly too. In Economy mode, you get good mileage. I am not sure what the other mode does. Something in between maybe? Take the bike to a free stretch, set it to Power mode, open the throttle and tell me how big a grin came on your faceOriginally posted by christo View PostWhat does these modes do?
