Re: Suzuki GS150R
Hello Guys!!! I have a query regarding availability of spares for Suzuki bikes, especially in Mumbai. I am on the verge of booking either a Ninja 300 or Suzuki Inazuma. I took a test ride of both, and I liked Inazuma more due to its seating, smooth unit and overall top notch quality.
However, I have heard that "availability of spares" for suzuki bikes is an issue. I am concerned about spares that are needed for regular service.
Also, how is the quality of Service?

Suzuki spares are not avbl outside. They are soled only at Suzuki service centers.Originally posted by chinmayakar View PostHello Guys!!! Quality of ervice..... may need some improvement but they do sell some big superbikes in india and they always employ people who know how to work on these bikes.

Just to make myself clear, I am not talking about availability outside. I thought that was implied....I mean if Suzuki Centers stock spares, and if they are available when u r there for servicing.
Dont care how they treat sbk's as Inazuma isnt a SBK...want to know if their svcs for desi bikes are good enuff....

Yes, SVC/ASC are good enough for Desi Motorcycles & Scooters.Originally posted by chinmayakar View Post...

Thanks Mate!!! Appreciate it. What about the availability of spares?
Inazuma isnt a bad bike at all. It is super smooth, and she revvs like a turbine. No matter how hard you ride you get the exact same smoothness. Quality is top notch.
Only thing holding me is the thought of lack of spares in general for suzuki bikes.

It is not implied for a newbie. Thot it wud be better to gove info rather than assuming.
Well I have a gs 150 r and many times not happy with the service, they dont attend to some of the complaints I would have listed and I have to go back to get it sorted.
Spares, I havent had to change anything but few forum members have been asked to come back again for spares.

Re: Suzuki GS150R
A wise decision from a wise man. All Kawasaki dealers are stocking all the parts of the bike they sell as spare parts to supply whenever asked for. If he sells 20 bikes, all the parts needed to assemble 20 bikes are stocked as spare parts and hence there is no scarcity of parts. And they readily replace the bike at the moment you imagine there is a problem with it even after six months or one year of riding.Originally posted by chinmayakar View PostThanks mate...This is exactly what i was looking for. In real life, it is always better to avoid such hasty decisions taken without even verifying the genuineness of the advice you get.
All the best.

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Any oil which complies with JASO MA2 specification should do fine. Go for Mineral/Semi-Synth/Full-Synth depending on how deep is your pocket.Originally posted by kksin123 View Post..kindly suggest me a good engine oil for my bike.. completed 5000kms..
shell or motul..
20w40 grade is recommended, 15w40 & 10w40 should be just fine. There is no honest path to prosperity - KoKa

Re: Suzuki GS150R
What I have seen is most of the service work is done by Trainees/Freshers in Suzuki and they don't seem to be very caring for the bikes. They might even scratch/break/interchange parts during the process of servicing/study. So you might have to stay at the service center and get your Inzuma serviced by the master technician in the workshop. Or you will have to do it by yourself. And in the case of spare parts if it is not available you can order them through the dealership and in case of any delay/problem you can contact Suzuki directly through their website. Hope this helps.Originally posted by chinmayakar View PostThanks mate...This is exactly what i was looking for. However, I have made my decision and I will be booking Ninja300 some time next week.

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Guys. I travel daily to office which is around 45 kms return. My gs150r is 7 months old and i have already crossed 7500 kms.
Thinking of shifting to Full Synthetic engine oil. Decided on Motul 300v.
But I am confused between 10w40 or 15w50 version of the oil.
Please suggest which one would be better for me.

Re: Suzuki GS150R
15w40 grade is apt for GS150R in general for Indian subcontinent, or so the oil experts(Motul) say.Originally posted by Nikhil Poddar View Post... I travel daily to office which is around 45 kms return. My gs150r is 7 months old and i have already crossed 7500 kms.

...
That said, I personally believe Motul 300V 4T Factory Line 10W40 is an overkill for GS150R,which may cost more than ₹ 1000/ltr. Go for Motul 7100 4T 10W-40 instead with ₹ 800+/ltr price-tag.
PS: With ₹ 800 I can purchase two ltr of best Semi-Synths in the market. Sarvodaya has completed 1 Lakh kilometers on his GS with SVC/ASC stock mineral Oil from Sapthagiri Suzuki BLR most of time, he faced no engine problems so far. If I remember correctly they(Sapthagiri) had Idemitsu(one of the Suzuki recommended) engine Oil.There is no honest path to prosperity - KoKa
