How? GS can easily, without any problem like engine knocking or anything like that, be ridden in 30 kmh speed in 6th gear
and can easily be accelerated from that speed in the 6th gear itself.

I too am using the same GS, though 2009 model.

And, who told you to not go beyond 50 kmh speed? First of all, refer the user’s manual.

    • Have seen many P135 on road so we can expect similar one from suzuki.

We have many 220 and 200 pulsars on road, but the problem is identifying them yes only if you see the front you can identify the diffrence that to only on P220
Rest of the side and back view of all pulsars are 80% identical.
Split seats if some one is sitting on pillon seat also then identifying that as a 220 cc bike is bit dificult.

Any way that's only my view let's see what comes out from suzuki may be it is the skydrive scooter or a hen from the egg or the egg from another egg
Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity

Madhu, I am living in a small village but usually go to the nearest town and have the habit of watching the bikes I see their. Another habit is trying to talk with bikers I meet there, just for nothing. It is not a city, but a town. Every bikes except those 250 or higher cc bikes are there.
Anyhow, I shall try to distinguish the P220 from other Pulsars correctly.

Sixth gear doesn't meant to be used at 60 kmph speed.

In GS sixth gear is desigined to give comfort sleek smooth cruse ride feel.

Initial 1000 kms esspecially first 500 kms bike will feel bit hard esspecially engine and gear box related stuffs, as they are matting with each other part for the initial period.

To avoid knock sound when changing gear, try to shift gear by engaging full clutch, and don't raise the speed.

          Just for your info

My gear shifting pattern is this.

1st gear starting 0 to 8 or 9 kmph max.
2nd gear 8 to 15 or 20 kmph if in really slow moving traffic.

3rd gear 15 to 23 kmph or max up to 30 kmph
          4th gear 20 to 30 or 35 kmph
          5th gear 25 onwards
          6th gear 30 kmph onwards

No am not recommending to follow my way of changing gear, but I would suggest you to just keep the RPM with in 4500

If the above way doesn't fix the gear changing roughness or sound while changing gear issue, try to change oil rightaway, yes the new oil should be same grade 20 W - 40 and should be castrol mineral oil not motul or something else because your bike is in run in period.

          Thanks MSN1...

GS is my first bike.... so will you please tell "How to clean our bike daily..."

The running in period is crucial. The life, performance, mileage and a lot depends it. So, in the initial stage, ride the bike as explained in the owner’s manual.

The proper maintenance includes regular washing, waxing, lubricating the chain and other necessary points, adjusting chain looseness, checking and inflating the tire, replacing oil and oil filter in every 2000-2500 kms after the 1st service, checking / cleaning / replacing of air filter and spark plug etc.

Buy a good car shampoo and car wax such as Formula 1(not Formula 1 USA. It is duplicate.), ArmorAll or any good one you like to wash and polish the bike.

Most of the SCs and car washing centers are using cheapest shampoo or soap. So try to do the washing and waxing yourself.

Wash it using a piece of rubber pipe connected to the water tap and wipe with soft cloth before the water dries up. Otherwise there may be marks left on the bike.

After that, apply a thin coat of wax and allow it to dry. Then, buff the waxed area repeatedly with soft cloth to get shining. Always use non-abrasive soft cloth or microfiber towels for waxing.

The foam pad you get with the waxes I have mentioned also can be used. But in my case, I always prefer a piece of soft cloth.

Wax the bike once in every month – the least. All the best.

              Thanks bro....

So we can use soft cloth for daily dust cleaning right...?
"formula 1" for car wash..k but what about wax...? which one i use that for...?
so How much cost will i have to pay for "Formula 1 car wash" and ____"wax"?

                        Hi Bro,

Nice clicks there and congrats on choosing this wonderful machine(like i did exactly one month ago )
Yes you can reach upto 60kmph speed during run in because the manual does't specify what speed you should maintain during run-in but says in terms of RPM. So do not cross 4.5kRPM till the first service and you are good to go
At ~4.5k RPM in 6th gear the speed will be around 58 - 60..
So no worries but avoid hard revving..Thats the whole mantra
Even I am interested in clicking some nice photos of my bike but have been busy with work..Will do that for sure in some time

A lot of good shampoos and waxes are available in the market. ArmorALL , 3M, Formula 1, Meguiars, Turtle Wax etc. are some of it.

Buy it from a reputed shop selling car accessories. Buy genuine products and avoid duplicates like FORMULA 1 USA.

                              • Well,it was the condition of Yamaha a few years back but after the R15 and FZ16.......the rest is what we see today. We, who love Suzuki to the core, want radical bikes with a difference.

India is very big country and the bigger picture for Pulsar220 is much better than it can be concluded.Vishnu, I am literally tired of seeing Pulsar220, prying my city.So many Pulsar220s!!! Even people who do not have the correct road sense ride that bike.I spot lesser new Pulsar150s in my city and more Pulsar220Fs !!!! Avenger220s are lesser, since it is a cruiser and has got a high turning radius not preferred by youths or commuters either,Ninja250R are present in considerable numbers in all cities in India given its enormous price tag.Honda is reeling under pressure that the launch of CBR250R caused, delivery has remained incomplete for many aspiring mini CBR owners. In my city bookings has exceeded even the combined number of bookings when the Dazzler and Twister was launched.Well, atleast Honda did not expect it itself.

You may never know.Mercedes and BMW Indian operations reports growth even when Maruti and Hyundai finds market stagnating. The highly priced vehicles are never meant to be sold in numbers but the premium valuation it gets has a market of its own........and when it grows it reflects the actual condition of economy and the inequality in its structure. But still Government rises fuel price irrespective.

But, even me who knows that it can be easily driven at or accelerated from 28 kmh speed without any engine knocking or so, was helpless before this question.
Even I face this question on a daily basis. Some people just questions it out of jealousy because their 150cc do not have one.The grapes sour when it cannot be reached.Similarly the existence of sixth gear becomes questionable. My answer to them is simple, that gear is to save fuel on highways. What they think next is not my concern.

Does not seem so, the fuel price is still rising despite such a big concern. The cooking gas price has risen too, next diesel price would rise.Everyone would make a habit of buying costly grocery, vegetables and premium vehicles soon.

In that case, the Slingshot 125 should have been able to turn the tides for Suzuki in India. But that has not been the case.
Moreover, Suzuki started with the 150cc segment from where it left with the Fiero.I have advertorials which suggests the dual advantage of power and mileage from the GS150R just it was with Fiero. But they made this move too late.Late enough,so that the GS150R remains widely unknown despite of what it offers in the basic 150cc segment.
At first, they hoped to go on a market plan like TVS with what they did with Victor, by providing us with two robust 125cc bikes which was good but were very obsolete in market where popularity was for 150cc bikes and above then. Suzuki in its next phase is in new form, it has to do things in its own way.

I prefer to remain hopeful, especially when the employees at Suzuki are vouching for it.

We all, all of us,GS150R owners are either loyalists or gave Suzuki a chance to prove themselves by buying their product even against the odds. We all then put her through everything a good 150cc bike gets thrown at like decent top speed, good fuel efficiency, balance, stability, refinement and accidental crash durability. It has impressed us on all counts. It is now attracting Bikers other than the loyalists too.

This very aspect has rekindled the hope of expecting the Suzuki performance on a higher level and at reasonable pricing like Bajaj or Yamaha. For Suzuki it is now the chance to show what it can do in the Indian market. Logical conclusion for Suzuki would be making the GS150R go 180cc or 150cc DOHC.
Nowadays, companies like Suzuki can do both performance and mileage at same time. The Hayabusa for example is one of the fastest production bike on earth and as well as the one of the fuel efficient bikes in its own segment.
