bro dont wait for new launches..i have been hearing about this for 4 months now..if there is a piece available at a showroom in bangalore i suggest you pick it up...if you book a vehicle then expect an indefinite waiting period..the bike is easy to ride once you get used to it. it does feel heavier that other bikes. taking tight 180's can be a problem if you cant deal with weight..bike is amazing in city conditions..ultimate for cool driving..dont buy this bike if you are looking only for thrill of speed...(that doesnt mean this bike is not fast..)

Below are the list of issues i am facing.

      1) Chain loose

      2) Gear stuck problem and also i get a loud thud noise when downshifting from 2nd to 1st.

      3) Long back while riding at 25kmph i shifted gear but the bike suddenly had a jerk with a big noise and then moved. It felt like the chain got disengaged for a sec. Since then i get a mild grinding kind of feeling whenever accelerating above 4.5k..I don't know what to say but i would tell them to check engine sprocket, and the chain..hopefully this gets resolved...

      4) nowadays engine gets off frequently during traffic signals..

      5) Getting mileage about 38kmpl

where are you giving your bike and how much does a normal paid service cost you??

The rear seat of almost all bikes is high. Keeping the bike upright when stationary is not by using the muscle power of the rider; it is a balance – a knack - which you acquire by practice.

        2. You are down shifting at improper engine rpm. Adjust the hot engine rpm to 1300-1400 and down shift to 1st gear in this range. To ensure this, release the accelerator fully before shifting down. This may solve the problem. Try.

        3. This is a common problem most of us face. The gear was not engaged correctly and hence the sound. The feeling at 4.5 k rpm is not due to this false neutral and is common in almost all GSs and is difficult to get rid of.

        4. Adjusting the hot rpm to 1300-1400 may solve it, but if the rpm is 1500 or above, it will be difficult to engaging 1st gear. (Please refer page 6.24 of the user’s manual and remember that the tachometer is not showing the accurate rpm. This is not the case of GS alone but all the bikes).

        5. What is your usual riding speed and at what rpm are you shifting up? Shift to the upper gear at the earliest possible, try to ride at a constant speed and avoid unnecessary usage of clutch and brake. This will give a better mileage.

Did you fit the K&N filter?

There is no possibility of a new bike from Suzuki now. But, here in my place, the waiting period for GS is about 1 month.

        Did you get the mail?

The most lovely bike Indian premium segment would have ever seen.......if the Suzuki really develops on the GS150R platform.

Comparing it with the Pulsar 180 is seemingly underestimating, it is gonna be more of a Karizma like performance,R15 like ease of riding and GS150R like vibration less and ultra refined bike.It would really be a beautiful bike if it is ever put into production.

But it may turn out be a 100cc instead too, its just a eavesdropping material, many things might not have been heard clearly too(I still cannot believe its coming !!!) .

The Slingshot 150 has been rumored for quite sometime now, but if the 180cc really makes it to showroom,Suzuki would really show that it makes the officially fastest production bike of earth to India.

          • My inputs

            * 1 always try to get the bike from dealer to find is he a authorized dealer, please refer the suzuki website for dealer info in bangalore.
To name few Dr.Rajkumarroad suzuki, airport road suzuki (in old airport raod), millers road suzuki.

            * 2 paid service fee depends on what service need to be done and what are all the things we requested.

            * 3 just returned back from chennai, seen people driving GS with wife and kids. That too in hectic porur vadapalani (arcot road) which is tooo hectic trafic in comparission to the traffice in many places of bangalore.

All it depends on how you drive.

No i havent fitted KN yet...Probably i wont.

My usual speed in the city ranges from 30kmph - 50kmph. Upshifting gear at about 3.5k. but sometimes i do charge my bike occasionally.

When i downshift to first gear i fully pull the clutch and also release the accelerator but still the sound remains. Its a loud thud noise and other bikers also turn back to me when this sound comes in, its so loud.

I dont know how to adjust the RPM's so to adjust and learn i went to couple of mechanics but all refused to touch the bike becoz first thing they ask is whether all service is done or not.

              @KIRTIMANNAN
Last time paid service was 280rs but this time he told me it would be about 350Rs. My SVC is apple auto near devegowda petrol pump.

what speed are you at when you try to downshift? i have noticed a couple of things..1. if RPM is more than 2.5 k then there is sound when downshifting and if speed is greater than 12~15 then also there is sound on downshift..just check these two aspects..

there is a small knob type thing to turn for adjusting RPM. to locate this refer to manual or else on the right side of bike kneel down and turn accelerator. you will see a moving semi-circular thing near the engine everytime you twist the throttle..the knob i am talking about is present here. Warm up the engine and check the hot RPM. if above 1500 RPM turn the knob till the RPM comes below 1500 RPM till around 1300~1400 RPM. its a DIY job i suppose. Dont bother with mechs..

wow your paid service seems to be lesser than my first free service? did you get oil change etc done???

                @ vishnu

thanks for the mail. It was sent to my Gmail and not the XBHP inbox as expected. appreciate the advice. Will follow and get back in a weeks time with my feedback.

                @ ashoka

be carefull about the paint color. your color is a bit rare to get and if not done right the paint that you apply will stick out like a sore thumb.

                @ All..

yesterday went for a trip to nandi hills. amazing ride. touched top speed of 114 on downhill a fly over and 104 on a straight road with a 55 kg pillion. i am sure i can go faster than that as RPM was btw 7.5 to 8 k RPM. will try to post pics.

one thing i noticed that when trying to turn to the right(tight turn like a 180*) the bike stalls. i fell once because of that. no harm or injury to the bike but am sure this is not normal and it has not happened for the first time. What is the issue. i think ashoka also had this problem. any ideas guys??

Yes bro I had the same problem and it was solved within 10 mins at SVC.
When you turn ur bike to the extreme right some how the choke was getting engaged and hence the engine stalls.
                  Nothing to worry about though.
                  Happy riding.

                  @All(who are in bangalore)
Does anybody know a good seat cover/accessory dealer from where I can get the seat net.
Since there was a little provision for fitting ladies handle I thought of getting the net(as suggested by Madhu)

I en quired in my SVC(Apple Auto near DG petrol bunk) and they are not ware of it.

Eariler I did switched my GS pilot lamps to DC till now no problem faced.

Number plate lamp is by default DC, I changed the bulb to LED as it is the same as pilot lamp bulb type.

@ vishnu sorry just remembered that you asked about stay at chidambaram.

if you are visiting chidambaram, saradha ram hotel or akshaya hotel are the best place to stay, boarding lodges are there but it won't be that good.
Economy class lodges are ameen and naveen lodge and one more is there near busstand,

Try to taste the moorthy cafe parrota or laapa there.

Chidambaram is known for gold covering jwellery

Don't forget to visit the pitchavaram mangrove forest, and if time allows visit annamalai university one of the biggest (in size) and famous (now infamous) university.

theres no problem with the LEds if connected to DC....as they run on DC and have a tendency to blow off on AC....

@maestro: gud u posted. since u have a done long rides and u r familiar with road conditions around thane n mumbai, I feel you are the right person to approach.

I have experienced light skidding the moment rear tire enters a wet patch of road on my GS. same is the case with muddy roads. Is it an issue with your bike too?? I am planning to put on a Zapper Q 100/90 - 18 on my bike, how well does this tire performs in wet conditions?
@ all: many other possible tire solutions are welcome.
