BTW, if there is any oil leakage or smoke to observe for......which are the places and when should I look for ???
After I get the new adapter installed I would implant the Spitfire cable lying idle in my home......would also buy an irridium CR7HIX to replace the stock CPR7HSA.

Yes. The stock jets are available in our service centres. If you decide to revert, you can do it at any time. Besides, while up jetting, why cannot keep the original ones with you to replace later, if needed?Originally posted by SriKi.GSpian View Postthanks vishnu brother..what should i do if i have to get back my stock jets..?? will it be available in the spares??

@madhu: thanks for the info man. I too noticed that Motul performs fairly consistently regardless of colour for a long time.....I didnt see much performance deterioration even under harsh usage in harsh conditions. But I suppose that I should change oil more frequently if I run it hard, right?
BTW, did you test out your car wax?
@mach50: hey man, can you describe how your bike performs above 6000 rpm? Mine screams to ease the throttle in the lower gears. Ive also noticed a few times that there is a certain range of maybe 500 rpm somewhere above 6k(not on redline
), where speedo reading doesnt change much, but crossing that range, it resumes rising. Ive only seen this in lower gears....higher speeds dont allow me to concentrate on speedo. Does this happen in your bike also? Anything to note here?

Yeah thats why we need to check the oil quality / level at every 200 kms or 10 days once
BTW, did you test out your car wax?
Tested its not superior but it is okay didn't last longer i mean more than a weekLast edited by MSN1; 03-24-2011, 01:52 AM.Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity

Friends, I had a fall around 3 and a half weeks back. It was the first fall in my 19K kms on the ODO. A Bolero guy turned suddenly to the right while I was trying to overtake him (At 30 - 40 Kmph
)... There was some amount of sand present on the road which made me skid and fall.. I tried to turn and as well hit the discs.... Wheel locked and the bike skid.. There were many times the front tyres skid on roads with sand... But I realise that the bike is skidding and I regain control.... but in this case, before I could realise that the bike was skidding, I was fell on the road[to my right]... My feet got under the bike... Was not able to walk for the first few days.. [apparently I had a interview at the US embassy three days later and went limping
] the wound is yet to heal
I started using my bike from last week.. [I had to.. Its dificult to travel in chennai without bike]..
@2strokerama - above 6krpm [from 5.5 to 8.5] the bike perform its best [in terms of accleration] from 3rd gear... 1st and 2nd are not that good. I've tried to raise from 40 to 65 in third gear, 60 to 80 in the 4th, 75 to 100 in the fifth.... The accleration is awesome.... keep in mind that the peak power output of our GS is only at 8.5K rpm. So we can safely push the bike till that... [or even 9K]... And YES.... You need to concentrate on the road during high speeds not on the speedo ... There is a thread where experts explain how to train your eye during riding [not sure where since I read it long back]... Its about getting the image from rear view mirror and speedo, processing the input and taking the action; all in a second. When you practice this, you can try getting the glimpse of the speedo at high speeds.
@MSN - Hey I also have the problem you faced in the front shocks... Many times it gives a thud while going over poth holes, sometimes even while braking... What was the problem and how do i get it fixed ? The SC and my mechanic tried to fix it but the problem persists..

Happy to know that you have escaped without much injuries. It is true that accidents occur at any time, however careful we are. How was the interview and what is the result?Originally posted by Augustine09 View PostHey I also have the problem you faced in the front shocks... Now, about the bike. If your bike has covered 10000 kms or more, replace the fork oil and at that time, check the spring coils inside the fork and replace them if necessary. The other reason may be loose steering cone bearing. Check and tighten it.

My Spitfire cables had cost me Rs.600 a piece 11months back.I used to have one installed on my former bike Suzuki Zeus and the other is on my Suzuki Shogun. The one for the commuter bike is lying idle since the GS150R replaced Zeus.My cable had the diameter of 8.8mm,it is actually a dual core ignition cable.I still have the Irridium spark plug of Zeus.Originally posted by kasperrmat View PostI too planning for spirfire cable for our gs.could you please let me know the price of it and specifications like length and 8.5mm/8mm( i donor know this parameter) and wher can i get in India..specifically Hyderabad.
If iam not wrong the stock and iridium spark plugs of our gs is same as bajaj platina/passion pro, right.I am also trying to choose between iridium and OWS Twin Iridium Spark Plugs of platina(costs rs800),which one is best....any idea...
Products
The stock spark plug of the GS150R is not exactly same to that of the Platina and Passion pro.Actually GS150R uses NGK CPR7HSA, while Platina and Passion pro uses CR7HSA.GS150R runs the projected variant of the spark plug while the other two uses non-projected variant.
So where does the catch lies in selecting the stock spark plug ???
Well a projected spark plug advances the time of combustion in comparison to a non-projected variant. You know GS150R is a torque loving machine,to offer that torquey nature to the fullest the bike uses the Projected variant of the spark plug so that the ignition can be carried into the middle of combustion chamber.Such an ignition lights up the A/F charge uniformly thus by advancing the time in which the charge can compress the chamber. So even at low speeds the vehicle moves on as if it has been awarded with truck loads of torque. But such advantage does not comes without any disadvantage. The disadvantage of advanced ignition timing is that due to fast ignition continuously the engine loses power at high rpms where a late ignition could have helped to develop more power in the high rpms and had helped a good top speed and faster acceleration at peak torque and peak power ranges.
Since the GS150R was basically designed for the mundane Indian 150cc market, the stock spark plug was selected to that it can afford enough torque for hassle free riding while on move in city traffic and environs.
But there is no Projected variant of Irridium spark plug available !!! What now ???
The Irridium spark plug costs more than the stock spark plug and it is considered as a custom aftermarket variant for Indian bikes..........whereas high end bikes often sports Irridium sparkers as stock plugs. The Irridium spark plug even though if it is the non-projected type, is known for higher ignition temperature and high voltage sustenance.Well this spark plug may not advance the ignition timing like that of a projected variant but still it can ignite the A/F charge throughout the RPM range faster and more efficiently. The cream would be at higher RPMS when both the advantages of delayed ignition and high voltage sustenance would be evident. The Bike won't suffer lack of torque near redlines and at even beyond peak torque and power rpms.
So without any significant compromise at low-end,one would get awarded with a lot of punch at mid-range and high-end and an improved Fuel Efficiency too.
Wow,sounds nice.....The Irridium variant looks all-rounder,so why didn't Suzuki used it in first place ???
It is because the stock spark plug costs around 100 bucks and the Irridium costs around 550 bucks.Good for individual performance gain but in case of a factory production it will be borne down on the manufacturer. Moreover the stock spark plug will do more than enough for most users. So it is a practical approach on the part of the company to stick to it for low budget vehicles.
When it comes to Irridium, NGK is known for it world over.In a phrase NGK has got the best Irridium.
@2strokerama:Incase of speedo reading not changing at a certain rpm-It could be a transition period between shifting gears. If you want continuous acceleration, you would have to shift gears in accordance to the throttle. Moreover if you cruise and then suddenly accelerate you would also experience it.
As for the bike screaming to ease off in lower gears, it is the universal nature of every gear driven vehicle..............this is what describes hard acceleration. You can either ease off to end the acceleration or up shift to carry it further on.
@Augustine: You made me remember of an incident where I dislodged and broke the rear view mirror of a car with my handlebar while it attempted to do a sudden right turn, without any indication and I just slid past it controlling my travel. It could have hurt my finger but fortunately the four wheeler driver got a show of my middle finger for that kind of dumbness exhibited on the road.
In your case I consider you equally fortunate as you did not get hit by any other vehicle or oncoming traffic. Our roads are full of drivers who thinks they own tarmac, so take some time in judging a vehicle before overtaking it,consider the risks and then do the job.......it will keep you ahead of the possible dangers that you may encounter.God Bless. Ride Safe.Last edited by MACH50; 03-24-2011, 10:05 PM.Hell's Angel

+1 and Thanks to vishnu br, same problem and Main SC(in pondycherry) replaced the oil at 16200km ..though the problem persists ...So whats the cost of spring coil inside the fork..?? Is it timing taking process to replace ...But i did most of time before everytime tightening Loose cone bearing.(how to identify between loose cone or Fork oil replacement or spring replacement?)..after some time again the problem occurs...? How long this tighten will last.??Originally posted by vishnukmd View PostNow, about the bike.
