I was stunned and taken a step back as his words are applicable to me.

After some silent minutes asked him to test my bike he smiled and replied come you ride and ill sit on back we went for a 2 kms drive, while on the way he proved and let me also feel and realise the issues in my bike, returned back and before he asks the same question I said brother please fix an appointment for my bike during this weekend.

Vishnu, I felt it was a wise decision from my end, as we are spoiling the bikes life by giving it to dealer for service whereas in return they are doing only water wash. I felt that very much during my last two services.

If we ask Svc they wont agreed to the fact so as decided to do service at local mechanic and give it svc for scheduled service on time to maintain warranty yes like the dealer I wont reveal the fact about doing service at local mechanic

At last our intention is to keep the bike in good health
Hi, I belong in the R15 thread but this mech sounds like he knows his stuff. Where's his garage? I'd like to try his service sometime...

              Thanks guys! Happy Ridin!

The GS is the smoothest bike in India at the moment. Refinement is outta this world! I get jealous sometimes, coz the R15 liquid cooled and thus, is supposed to be real smooth.. cheers..

Liquid cooled machine does not necessarily have to be super smooth, liquid cooling just increases the high end performance of the engine as the engine components can be stressed more with high revs and the R15 have that substantially.

The smoothness that GS150R gets despite having a throbbing torque laden engine is due to the engine balancer present on this bike.

Engine balancer is technology that is found on high end bikes, the new Honda CBR250R has it.

The bore/stroke configuration of the GS150R resembles that of R15 in every possible way.Even the torque peaks similarly on both these bikes. This makes me think that how just 4 valves and liquid cooling drastically changes the power output on bikes.

If any of my bikes or my friend's bikes have anything to be repaired, I never go to A S C. In fact once I know that everything is fine on my bike, i don't even go to A S C for free services too.

It's my policy... should not apply to everybody

I have covered 4624 kms with 71 liters of fuel and I hope that I can cover another 50 kms before hitting the reserve. Mine is a planned long distance R to R mileage check and I am now waiting to reach the reserve level to finish it and fill the tank full again.
This ride includes short trips of 2 kms to long ones of 250 kms, bumper to bumper city drives to highway drives, sometimes solo and the other times with pillion rider.
Carry over periodic maintenance of oiling, greasing etc. etc. and try to keep a constant speed of 60-65 kmh. Shift to higher gears at the earliest possible, remain in high gear as long as possible and down shift at the latest. Avoid unnecessary usage of clutch and brake and try to move in a constant speed. Keep the tank full to reduce loss of fuel due to evaporation. This will give you better mileage.
                            Vishnu.. you are right

but i always maintain my speed upto 65.. still i get 50.. but last week when i tested by going over 70 to 75 i got 64 mileage.. speeding upto 75 is overspeed and will use lots of petrol right then how come i get 64.? tell me how to check the mileage correctly using R to R and F to F (full tank method).. please advice.

Oh thats sad. You should have filed an FIR and asked those guys to pay the price for a new tank, if you could get a hold of them that is.

Anyway, new tank is around 3800 bucks, and the svc said you can get 100% insurance for changing the tank, but i guess you would still end up paying 500 atleast for labour/shipping etc.

Replacement will not be allowed by the company as the dent is not a manufacturing defect, but you can claim insurance. As the tank is metallic, you will get almost the actual price of the tank. Approach the service centre and they will help you.
The cost of the tank is below 4000/-, depending the colour. Sleep now and go to the sc in the next morning.
