Yes; you can claim the full cost. No bribe or anything like that here, in my place. Tell them that the bike has fallen down as it is not insured against riots or stone throwing.Originally posted by performator View Postthnxx guys.. r u sure that full claim can be obtained .. i dont mind the bribe part ... i know insurance guys will.

Claiming for insurance wont be easy I suppose. It has happened to me too with my previous bike only the difference is, in my case silencer was dented. When I took to SC for claim, the insurance guy was not convinced and said its not damaged and will work fine so no claim could be made.Originally posted by vishnukmd View PostReplacement will not be allowed by the company as the dent is not a manufacturing defect, but you can claim insurance. As the tank is metallic, you will get almost the actual price of the tank. Approach the service centre and they will help you.
The cost of the tank is below 4000/-, depending the colour. Sleep now and go to the sc in the next morning.
What I did, I borrowed a hammer from a mechanic and in front of that guy destroyed the silencer and asked him in a bullying manner now what??? He passed the claim

Guys, Don't know how? But there are scratches visible on my bike near the Tank. Don't know how it appeared all of a sudden, Given to SVC and they said ki they polished, still after few days it seems to be a bit visible, When i touch with my finger, i can still feel it.
Need Help....

It is difficult to remove deep scratches, but buy a bottle of Maguire’s ScratchX2.0 or Formula 1 scratch out liquid rubbing compound and apply it as per the directions on the bottle. ScratchX2.0 is for deeper scratches and buffing is needed.Originally posted by Krish007 View PostBut there are scratches visible on my bike near the Tank. India is a great country. So, beware of duplicates!
Another option is repainting the tank. For it, approach the sc.Last edited by vishnukmd; 03-09-2011, 11:56 PM.

Where is the fuel screw on this?? the long downwards one is the RPM screw rite?
is it OK to do a little carb tuning(After some research on it
) since there a slight lag in pick up after 1st service done today.
what color should the engine oil be after its been changed by the SC ?,they said they use the standard Castrol oil provided by Suzuki.
How to change the suspension setting from standard which is 3 to softer 2 ?
and also they charged 260rs for it...is it normal i thought free service means FREE...Last edited by venky7; 03-10-2011, 01:30 AM.

@venky7:
The fuel screw is on the other side, its golden in colour.
And NO, do not try tuning your carb yourself. I learnt from experience, tried tuning the carb once, and my mileage dropped from 52 to 46-48, and i've never been able to fix it till now, even the svc hasn't been able to bring the mileage to 50+ after tuning, re tuning, even overhauling the carb.
And free service means the labour is free, they still charge you for parts/oil.

That is the idle adjustment screw you can call it as RPM Screw alsoOriginally posted by venky7 View PostWhere is the fuel screw on this?? the long downwards one is the RPM screw rite?

Show me the other side of the carburetor will show you where the golden screw is.
refer the manual and do what ever they recommended for the customer to do, anyway its your GS you have full rights to screw it up
if anything good or strange happens share with us, but don't blame vishnu or mach50 for the bad outcome of your experiments, and also don't feel dishearten because we need to learn from mistakes, so lets do mistake first.

i'll check the engine oil color tomorrow and post a pic.... today it was brownish at th SC rode the bike 20kms didn't check after that so....
i read the manual their they say to turn the top of the suspension but did not manage to do that, how to turn it? it's damn tight

This too is not correct. The photo uploaded by me was of Castrol Power 1, not of Castrol mineral oil.Originally posted by MSN1 View Postif anything good or strange happens share with us, but don't blame vishnu or mach50
Spare me please. I haven’t recommended anyone to do any experiment on his bike. Further, if I have to test anything, I have my own bike to do it. No need to encourage others to do foolish things and wait for the result to learn.

Beware of booby traps! And don’t listen to advices for experiments on your bike. Why cannot the advisers perform the experiments on their own bike?
As thefalcon said, it is impossible to bring back the carburettor to its original settings after retuning.
The colour of the oil – it is Castrol 20W40 mineral - is red.Last edited by vishnukmd; 03-10-2011, 02:49 AM.
