According to me the right speed to shift to top gear is 40-50.

Accelerating further in the same gear after the bike has produced necessary torque is wasting energy and fuel.
Therefore, try to shift to and ride in the higher gears.

Havent seen any negative feed back for elf oil more over elf is jaso ma2 so it should go good with japanese engines try it

Also give your feed back on it so as we also will try

Heard from one guy in bangaladesh he said elf is good and their they call it as total oil.

Well you change the oil filter or not just one litter is okay for your GS150R

Btw, can you kindly post a pic of the lights from the front(facing the lamps). I see a very bright zone to the immediate left and right of the bike. So how is your reflector coping up with the heat of 55W when it is designed to take only 35W?

If you dont want to claim a i mean I am not sanew tank you can try putting coconut oil on the mouth (just a thin layer, dont let it drip and mix with petrol), i know its not advisable but i did it and my 3rd tank isnt showing any sign of rusting after that.

Bro...would'nt it be better if you are able to use WD40 or the RUSTLICK insead of the coconut oil....I am not saying....that the coconut oil is not good...surely you have had good results.....but when yo have professionals.....why use...substitutes....and personally the WD40...is great and easy....to use...

I have covered 4624 kms with 71 liters of fuel and I hope that I can cover another 50 kms before hitting the reserve. Mine is a planned long distance R to R mileage check and I am now waiting to reach the reserve level to finish it and fill the tank full again.
                This actually sounds pretty interesting.

Can you please tell me what is the Tacho meter shows when you ride at speed of 55-60 kmph? I mean what is the RPM at that speed.

Also since when you started getting this whooping figure of mileage. It is said that one should not expect good mileage from bike before 2nd service.

I hope to get the answer soon.

                Cheers!

Bro...where did you buy the nightbreaker.....I tried everywhere in hyderbad.....I did not get it....
let me know what type of shop did you buy it....people here have not heard of OSRAM company here....leave alsone the nghtbreaker....or the silverstar....

                    Guru,
I have made no alternations or modifications like removing the pilot lamps or anything else as it fruitless. Just replaced the bulb. You can do the same, if you are satisfied with its intensity.

I hope I can do the winding myself. But modification of the connections from the rr unit is a real problem as it has only one output which is connected to the battery. I shall explain it later.
Now replace the bulb and that is enough. All the goodness.

This seems to be strange. Look for it in any car accessary shop, especially in small shops and if not available, buy online.

                        Dear friend,
I have a 250 kms ride today, starting at 6 in the morning, along which the bike will reach the reserve level. I shall give an answer after finding out the exact mileage. Please wait.

                        • Engine Oil

Is there a way or method to know that the Service centre had changed the engine oil???

The mechanic, used to take out that level from engine and take a drop on thumbnail and don't know what they test... Doubt came from that moment.

I used wd40 at some other points (frame and swing arm mainly) where there were some brown spots, but didn't spray into the tank coz i thought it would drip into the petrol, didn't know if it could cause a bad reaction so didnt try it.

btw, a friend suggested that i use something called 3M petrol additive, he said it'll improve fuel quality and make the engine smoother and increase mileage. its like a 25ml bottle to be mixed with around 5lt of fuel.

Any idea about this ??( since its 3M its probably not some hoax, 3M wouldnt want to lose their brand name. )

I dont know what your mechanic is doing, i didnt understand what you meant by "take out that level from engine" either.

But if you want to check, there's a glass window at the side, new oil will be golden coloured or red depending on the brand, oil thats over 500km old will be black or blackish. so its pretty easy to figure out if they're cheating you.

Your question needs a psychological answer as it clearly indicates you are not comfortable with the oil in your bike.

So whatever it is please change it to your favourite oil with the favourite way where you feel happy with
