    • please help me guys, my GS has done 2 services and 3000 km, up to first service its milage was upto 45-50 but after first service it decreased....i suspected but cud not check exactly due to falce reserve sometime, so at last i dicided to empty the tank and fill only one litre....i did it 2 time and and got the milage of 32 km/L.....
unbelievable for me.....as i finished a good run in period as instructed in manual.....even no one else rode it but me, and its rpm at idle is as set as it was on the day of purchase-1.4

plz help me what cud be the reason
i m really helpless as i am the only GS owner in my city and nearest service station is 150 km away in dehradun where the service guys know nothing which was evident when i was there for my bikes servicing.

Digital fuel Level indicators have the problem of not showing exact level of fuel is know issue across almost all the bikes with digital fuel indicator

don't play with wires, it indicates 2 bars while you are playing with the wires at that point of time the bike might be in side stand even if the bike in center stand position is different from normal riding position so fuel indication may vary

False reserve we can blame it on either the shape of the tank which holds more fuel in Nooks and corners

when my bike hits reserve ill turn it to reserve and turn it back to main if it goes more than 2 kms its false reserve else ill consider it as true reserve

before suspecting your bike have you suspected the # 1 Criminals (petrol bunk) ?
how is your bike engine and exhaust sounds (high pitch or low)

when you changed engine oil last

mileage of 32 is way to low for our bike take it to dealer / SVC try a bottle 100 ml test let them tune it and that ill fix it

do you have any other city close to your place
by the way let us know your town / city name

And seems they have a diffrent bread of engine oil too

            Products
The brand OWS is associated with quality performance products.
The Spark plug has a small value capacitor with spark gap, which accumulates the firing voltage till a threshold is reached ,and then dumps it across the plug electrodes...Many such inventions have come and gone....In my opinion the standard spark plug will be better, due to it's reliability.
The engine oil is of course the synthetic oil.

            • Petrol level

The petrol level indicator in most bikes become erroneous sooner or later. The sensor for the level is a simple Ni chrome wire resistance attached to a float, sitting inside the petrol Tank..in petrol..The sense voltage will be 2 or less volts with very low current through it, to avoid sparks. The petrol we put contains Petrol plus some Water plus dust and contamination ...Even when we get it from reputed bunks. This water+dust in petrol allows rust to form on the sensor leading to loose contact...and hence erroneous reading.
Try adding 2ml of Castrol Power 1 2T per liter of Petrol, and see if the problem goes away...If it doesn't then the sensor must be taken out and cleaned/replaced.

Sir adding this 2ml of 2T oil will any harm effects like carbon deposit?...If i put 5ltr petrol then 10ml is required right...? and how many times it required , just one time to check the problem goes away or not ...?
what do you think about design of GS petrol tank...it have so many curves .so there is residue petrol left in that area...
And one more query is regarding half clutch setting and full clutch settings...which is best for city use...?

Carbon deposit will happen...but after prolonged use only....say for a 100 liter usage time, because the amount is 2ml/liter only.Try for 15 liter's use.If there is an improvement..then use it once in two 10 liter fills. If not useful stop using the 2t and get the sensor cleaned.

                        Just curious

Is their any specific reason to use 2T oil in the above case.

Am asking this because ours is 4T bike why can't we try 4T oil.

For this purpose if I approch the petrol bunk or oil dealers, the minimum available quantity here in bangalore is 50ml pouch.

2T is lighter and leaves less residue than 4T which is thicker. The Castrol Power 1 2T contains PIB which is good for combustion and actually is the least smoke and ash producing 2T.
Buy a cheap measurement jar made of polypropylene from any shop ..or may be chemists..and you can measure the oil before pouring it..

                            • Did 150 km today without much breaks in betweem......now, engine sound has become harsh and slightly hollow....sounds a bit like mixie......old smoothness is almost gone. Engine rpm is also a bit more irregular than usual. Anything to b worried about? I did a lot of speeding....kept te engine at above 6500 rpm most of th time.

I could find only 1 dealer at Mysore (posted details from suzuki website below). Guess you dont have much options there.

In b'lore there are 6 service centers as far as i know,
I guess airport road, KH road(wilson garden) are good ones. Some people say apple auto is also a good SC.
