    How can i remove this? Is it advisable to give another Teflon coating to make it glossy

    My bike ODO reads 11700 kms now, service is due on 28th Jan (8th service). I'm thinking of replacing air filter, oil filter, fork oil and changing the spark plug to NGK Iridium.

    There are some tints of rust below the visor(chassis). Can I ask them to paint them? Please provide your inputs....

    Teflon coating doesn't show signs of flaking !
    That might be the paint itself, because teflon coating would just fade away like some usual wax polish as far as i remember.. (i got coating done twice, didnt show flakes anytime)

    But you could get another coating to get a glossy finish, (getting a coat every 4-6 months is good to keep the glossy finish)

    About the spark plug, may be you could get a spit fire cable along with the plug to increase the spark intensity.

    And about the paint, ya they'll paint it, when i showed them signs of rusting they got some can of spray paint and painted it.(which costs 120 bucks as per the bottle)

      Anup bhai, the company that coated my bike said that before going for a new Teflon, they usualy remove the scar or marks to the old teflon by solubilising the layer with some chemical........ask your tefloners for this .
      They never used any chemical before applying teflon on my beast though!!!!!

        • It dont seem like paint flaking. Its as if the plastic layer has detached from the metalic surface and formed a small blemish. I dont have a camera with enough resolution to post it here(its very small).

          I dont have any experience about using Ignition cables, is there anything(branded) like NGK which provides some improvement. From previous posts of Vishnu and PSR, our stock cable is already a damn good one. The NGK Iridium for GS is CR7HIX rite. Searched for some good ignition cables over net and found good reviews about Magnecor. Please provide inputs........

              The problem with Teflon quoting is it stops the paint and clear coat from breathing and leads to bubbling.During production Once the paint is dried in oven a clear coat is given to protect the outer surface of the paint and keep it looking shiny. Due to handling and stress the clear coat develops minor cracks in which very small amount of moisture will be trapped. Now on top of this when a teflon coat is given the trapped moisture over a period of time either makes the appearance dull or develops bumps.
              The distance between the ignition coil and spark plug in a bike,is minimal as compared to a car.An Inductive Ignition cable is always superior to a Resistive cable made with glass fibre dipped in Carbon...Magnecor is one such Inductive core cable meant for high energy .

                  recommending you to contact SVC for any issues

                  and do utilize the help of local mechanic for minor issues {only if you know him well and he wont screw it up}

                  telling this because GS is a new bread 150cc where local mechanics try to do R&D @ your cost

                      No.... if you try to remove, the base coat will get damaged, and if you try to give one more coat, you will worsen the situation..so leave it as it is,and hope there is no further spread of this problem.

                            It is a typical Biker's hangout, people discuss their bikes and troubles and nice things about their bikes, riding and this and that, and if you make friends then maybe a bit more

                            After that a ride together and some chai or pizza and then disperse.
