Very well said bro, I had no intentions to work in IT field. But for the time being I want a job which pays well.

Until I can say money is not everything, I want to make it. No offense bro, I appreciate your concern and always keep your advice in my mind.

Anup do not worry about how you addressed me......Like Vishnu said the CORPORATE SECTOR is one cunning work area now....The competition is stiff, and cut throat. When I talked to a higher official of a MNC of IT sector on hiring Engineers for software work which they don't know,.....he replied this way he gets people at affordable Salary, and he can train and put him anywhere he wants, without any questions..and also make him sign a bond for 2 or 3 years, with penalty clause....
Money is not everything in life...But make sure you have enough of it before you say it ....
        Take care and be HAPPY.

          +1 to that

This may be OT, but pls forgive for that
But I will have to disagree with PSR & Vishnu on the usage of titles... I am an electrical engineer (EEE) who risked & jumped to Cisco world for CCIE, and succeeded in a way because of interest & intense hard work

The EEE company I worked previously through campus placement, followed the conventional titles and we freshers could neither interact with higher management, nor feel part of the company... reason too much red tape and segregation . You may love your job/be content with pay, but you never feel one with the company . You will be always looking for better XYZ

The current networking company I work for follows the contemporary no titles approach.... You can see and understand what is the company approach and reason behind it, talk to seniors (who manage large projects) and learn about life and how to go about your career... You come to work, not just for the sake of working, but to learn and interact... We youngsters learn a lot about career planning and management aspects of technology, the seniors can relieve their stress as there is nothing better for them than sitting in chair, and talking to youngsters as if he is the career guru

Yes, companies do follow such policy to avoid attrition and make you feel equal, but its positive effects are profound & if used to your advantage, you should expect to have a well planned career

          @Anupdas
IMHO there are lots of shortcuts to success in whatever field you take (ofcourse hard work is prerequisite always )... and companies with an open HR culture will help you to know of these tricks

As I have already remarked to Karizmatic in coffee lounge, we got to take risks, experiment trusting in God and advise given by elders....but make sure that by 27yrs of age, You are on the Road which you prefer, on the Ride which you love

@Vishnu is it true that EE & EC are going to be considered the same I always see EE as engineering base with EC to be much more than that...

                  Hi..this is Arish...had gone away since long time..missed xbph...alot !!
coming back to the point...i have just finished 13000kms on my GSR..
Today I fitted the K&N free flow high performance air filter..Installation was a bit difficult as the air box is very different compared to the other bikes..but i did it with the help of my friend who was a mech long way back
K&N is fixed directly on the carburetor..After finishing the installation the bike roared like a beast..the initial pickup was too good..the bike could hit the 100km/hr mark very quick compared to earlier with the stock filter. Also the midrange power and torque has increased..the bike can now be pulled up easily from 40km/hr in 6th gear to 100km/hr in a matter of seconds. In the morning the tank was totally empty. I fitted the Filter and filled the tank with 1litre of petrol. after that did some nasty racing..bike returned 45km/lt..initially it was giving around 48-50km/l when driven carefully without much speed bursts...but now even when i drove the bike with hard acceleration and demonic speeding..still its giving 45km/l which is very descent. I love K&N Air Filter. Now i could feel the thrill of riding my GSR..which initially i just could'nt felt...

Yeah today seen a lot of discussion on Off Topic,

I was been in to IT Corporate environment for the past 10+ years

The game is their every where and its not only how you played in the pitch [your job] / their are off pitch [off line rapport with mgmt ] performance which decides your pay packet hikes and politics there every where

If i look at humanity to the core at this sort of environment we cant withstand / survive brother,

the way l love GS i do love my job

when i i recruit 20 people i wont feel happy of giving an opportunity to some one who is struggling, because i know i have to sack (Terminate / Layoff) few of them if they are not up to the mark or if the company feels these many resources aren't required in another point of time...

what to do Corporate life is mechanical where as Govt employees life is ...... you know

whom to be blamed govt didn't applied the company laws in IT corporates

                    .................................................. .................................................

lets back to business how is your GS

                            On plugs zilch.

Congrats Jayant & welcome to mad world of the unique GS150R Finally a pure stallion 2010 GS black, cause only new ones I see are the multiple colour syndrome combo ones though given a chance, orange-black could be my pick

Today I saw two new combo blue ones... The first early morning 6.30 driven by a lady , yep thats true... either she is some Suzuki Centre girl, but there are none in Anna Nagar, or a girl who loves touring

The second just whizzed past me on the same NH some hrs back... I was cruising at ~80 & he was 100+
Have not yet seen the Red-black on roads, but that looks devilish
                            -------------------------------------------------------------------

BTW Arish if you are sure K&N has caused a noticeable boost (and not a pseudo boost because of more accelerating) then I am for it What do you say Mach50 da ? Ofcourse Vishnu's Certificate of Rationality would also have to be passed jus kidding.

@Abhishek Thanks for the heads up buddy Should be movin to Noida by mid-feb... How about ek coffee aur garam pav bhaji and some katchories

                              • Some facts about our GS :

I have been driving 3 bikes a lot nowadays... Fazer, Pulsar 180 to roomie's FZ. My buddies also do drive mine....
Fazer/FZ/P180 are much slicker in traffic & low speed turns, and I feel they the Yahomas (our room ) are much more responsive in 1st & 2nd gear... Fazer has better seating feel compared to our GS But after 60 they are sluggish and FZ feels like someone chopped off the front area, fazer feels complete... The gears and engine refinement is below GS, though they sound as if they have a unicorn engine with xtra bass quite opp. to GS engine sound though engine here is much better
P180 is smooth, but it just feels like an assembled 180cc... Always feel something is lacking

Now hoping from these bikes to Suzoma GS150R, you feel the difference instantly....
You go singles, 1st & 2nd gear are not as responsive as yahomas, even pulsar feels eager,,, on doubles GS feels more torquey than FZ and refinement improves further ( dunno why?)
Once you cross 40+ and start acc. at 3rd gear with 6K+ rpm, GS150R just gives out its best and there even my buds believe GS150R is on its own Mid-Range is excellent and why ?

Cause after really driving other bikes you will instantly feel the fact:
The extremely well sorted out short 6 gears.... This is the GS150R biggest strength IMHO.... Each gear has power & torque so perfectly balanced and incremented... no surprises in between. For eg, in rohans fz, you will feel power in lower gears, and once you go to 4th & 5th... there's hardly any torque difference and you feel the power distribution is not uniform...
In P180 felt 4th gear had better pull than 3rd, then 5th seems torque fading out... I was struggling to Choose a gear at 50 to climb a flyover

In GS, each gear if changed correctly will gives you the precise Rpm fall, which inturn also gives excellent well controlled feel due to healthy uniform power reserve throughout the RPM spectrum.... In-gear acceleration is much better and streamlined compared to above bikes.

IMHO GS gears ratio and they increment are way better than any other <1 lakh Indian bike
Add to this a highly refined engine and a extremely touch sensitive gearbox its
My gear changes while cruising are barely noticed by pillon, i press clutch hardly 25% at each gear, the gears are that smooth

Trust me buddies by 20K ODO atleast, the engine will be revy and gear changes will be butter smooth & multiple personality is frankly simply pulling the bike's leg to an extreme

So all new GSpians, just make sure you completely read manual first and follow running-in thoroughly.... Change gears as much as possible and vary speed. In Kerala I used to run-in my bike by riding in the night and early mornings, changing gears every minute, strongly accelerating to 4.5K (1st ECO blink) and engine braking... also taking my sister for extra loading in short gave the best sort of running-in I could possibly give to my GS.. And now at 30K ODO I can see the results
Many GSpians have written about proper running-in and dangers of being too soft on GS (lugging) They would help you out

I have changed oil at EVERY Service interval ie. Mostly every 2 months/1.5~2K kms... Have always used Castrol/Motul mineral and will never change to Synthetic... If Fireblah (LOVE THAT NAME ) used HH 20W30 mineral oil for his 1L Fireblade (as recommended by Honda to him), then our bikes should be doing good with plain mineral oil, provided we change it often

Also if you feel palm pain, put fatter grips/tell pillion not to push you in front (may be but frankly most of the arm pains on long rides with pillon is just because he is pushing you forward.... ofcourse with a girl its a different matter )
Also try to lock your legs onto the fuel tank as if you belted to it, you arms should be completely free and only hold the handle, not push it
Read up on braking techniques and safety on xBhp.... they are always helpful, and get the best helmet possible within your budget... It may be ugly single colour, but a reputed brand (Vega/Steelbird/Studds/MPA...AGV/Arai) will last long and enhance your comfort and safety
Just my 50 cents Cheerios while you tame the two horned hippo
