  • Hi gspians. I have read everywhere about the buttersmoothness of gs gears but i found that in my bike only upshifting is smooth and not the downshifting. Specially when i step down from 3 to 2 i have to really press hard for shifting. My bike is just 2 weeks old and has completed 300km. Anybody with same experience..

      how you down shift,
try slightly raise the throttel and down shift or use clutch if that doest works
      check the clutch level play

engine oil is related to smoothness of gear shifting too, moreover your bike crossed initial 200 kms so its time to drain and pour fresh engine oil (SC will tell no, so try with local mechanic) and see....

        H unicorn,dazzler,B pulsar(TRICS III),HH karizma,CBZ-X,hunk,achiever are providing a mapping for engine(By default, we cant change this setting)

well Suzuki just went ahead by providing two maps (eco and power), which can be switcher by the rider.

          It also controls rev limiter.

In ECO mode:the bike has a lot of low-end torque, the sixth gear can be shifted at 4000rpms only in this mode, without the bike feeling wrong.

In PWR mode:some good mid-range torque, fast pick-up like Zma but Top end is lost.

In GOD mode:well I am the boss,I shift it at 8500 rpms when I need to do some very quick 0-100kmph,bike shoots to 120kmph and does the 127kmph with ease.It then feels normal,no or less low end torque, punchy midrange, truckloads of top end power, revs till 10,000rpm with ease, rev limiter then ticks in.Nature is too much like the R15,only on a bit easier and comfortable side.

There is really some mode magic in this bike.

          At,68K,you get,
SJCS-Suzuki Jet Cooling System (advanced air cooled engine)
          6th gear-how many air-cooled 2V 150s have six cogs???
Gear indicator-I think only Suzuki bikes in India have it !!!
          Vibration reducing harness-Superb touring ability.
XTP-the technology emblazoned on the Bandit,Hayabusa,Bking, check them out in flesh to know.
Biggest metal Fuel tank in the 150cc category.

Do you still doubt that the Mode facility is nothing more than a Rpm shift indicator just because this is a 68K bike???? !!!!!!!

few of those features would also be found on the 1Lac+ R15
and most of those features would be found on the 12.5Lac HayaBusa or the 9.5lac Bandit.
"superb lines sir!! you got all the plus point of our beast in these lines..superb review of the GS !!

an our back on whitefield road, I was not traveling too fast some where in 40 or 50 kms speed,
but their was a car going in front of me and am not tailgating it (previous time experience)

the dog crossed the car and comes standstill in front of my bike their are cars and bikes following me so keeping that in mind didn't applied breaks....

Dog got hit and ran away, i put both my legs on ground so as to balance the bike as its going uncontrollable due to the sudden impact as a result got a bent in gear leaver and break leaver left scratch marks on right leg

did set the gear leaver back to original position

::: Thank god once again ::::

the traffic is not that bad "if its too crowded means i cant maintain 40 kms

Road is not empty vehicles are traveling can be called as fast moving crowd so fears about applying break

i am not sure how much it was changed i came to Bangalore on 2003 till that time it was improved alot.

Ok decided to buy MOTUL 3000 4T plus 20w40 1litre. Is this easily available in most automobile shop or getting it is difficult? And whats the cost of it ?

I read your story, thank god nothing serious happened. You did the right thing, never apply sudden break in gsr escpecially the front ones..you will be just thrown from the bike either to left or right..i have bad experiences doing that. Once in Mysore road BHEL signal it was too slow traffic i was moving below 10Kmph in signal. The car front of me also was also slow below 10kmph stopped suddenly.I avoided contact with the back of car by sudden brake, the next thing was i was fallen down towards left...The road was sandy though
