Nothing is missed especially when it is working properly in your bike. These are the only suggestions from me:Originally posted by gmagesh14 View Postgo through it once again and check if I missed out anything..
1. Check the resistance of the coil before fitting it and closing the magneto cover.
2. Disconnect the power to the soldering iron before soldering on any wire connected to battery and remove the fuse before soldering the Red wire from the RR to the battery. Removing that wire from the battery before soldering is safer.
3. Connect the negative from the RR to the negative of the battery.

Just sharing observations from an experience.Originally posted by punarvasu View PostIt is not so easy for an inexperienced one. Let the mechanic check it if you don’t know how to open the brake fluid reservoir.
> Unscrew the master cylinder cap and remove it.
> Take off the plastic cover under the cap.
> Gently take out the rubber diaphragm under the plastic cap, taking care not to drip any brake fluid onto painted surfaces.
> Check and top up as necessary.
> Replace the diaphragm, cover and cap as it was before. Done.
But where you need to be careful is:
Its advised not to spill any brake fluid onto painted surfaces because it might eat away paint.
Ive spilled it all over my tank, handle, crash guard and exhaust. Ive even let some be to see if and how it corrodes the paint and plastic. No signs of anything bad yet.
But just to be on teh safer side in case of a spill, wash the area with water (soap water??) immediately and wipe it clean.
Possible sources of drips\spills:
> Some fluid sticking to the rubber diaphragm during removal.
> Pouring out of the fluid bottle itself. Use a plastic beaker\measuring jar\funnel instead.
> Having extremely shaky hands.

Will add it to the previous steps in rewinding too...

Sure., it's must and will indicate it..
3. Connect the negative from the RR to the negative of the battery.
Not required Punarvasu,as the battery is grounded to the body.,we can connect it to that bolt itself.

Yes it'sOriginally posted by punarvasu View PostThis kind of words we do rarely hear. If it is from the depth of your heart – I am sure it is - keep it up
and there is nothing precious than to reveal the truth..
You all gave confidence to me to complete it successfully in a 1.5months old bike.. I was fully confident at that time, that I can make it work if anything goes wrong...
EDIT::: Punarvasu, corrected those two suggestions..Last edited by gmagesh14; 03-08-2012, 01:06 AM.

10 characters down.Originally posted by punarvasu View PostThat is what I said. We need a little experience to open the reservoir.
Some learn by thought and observation, some learn by the mistakes of others, some others learn (and learn best) only when burnt by the flames of actual experience.
The worst thing in my case, worse than me spilling, was that my mechanic who did this job once earlier, also spilt fluid all over my bike.
Easy. Take the usual quota before opening it!
