18 G wire is thicker and produces more current. You can wind 10 turns in the first layer and 9 subsequently. Wind tightly without gap between the turns to get maximum turns per pole to get maximum voltage. Remember that over bulging coil will touch the magneto.
If the winding is tight, the coil need not be varnished. If varnished after winding, drying it completely, even with hot air, is difficult.
Remember to count the turns of winding on the pole while removing it.

In that shop, 19 swg not available. so got the 18 swg...

Today i checked the stock stator AC output. its whooping to 50 Volts..
My Stator has got 12poles and when winding with 19swg wire I got somewhere around 40turns extra totally when compared to 18swg.. But couldn't able to check the performance with 18swg...

No problem in using 18swg wire if you could able to put around 40 or more turns per pole.. So try to wind it as tight as possible..

Do you know the number of turns of original coil? In my 8 pole stator it was 66 per pole.

I am aware of its power but now I feel I am in control of it. Counting my days for the run in period to end. I know the power it has but cant unleash that in the roads now. Its a test of my patience.
On the 3rd day when I was riding to my office, a Scorpio just zoomed besides me and the front passenger seat kept looking at me. I felt very odd and when I looked back to him, I found that he was admiring the vehicle. Asked me whats the bike model and the mileage before zooming away. Colleagues are all in admiration since I am the only one with this bike in my whole team, sets it apart from the usual pulsars and apaches :-). They all love the white color on it. Few even asked to doa TD on it and liked it instantly.
Caught a few people from the opposite direction of the road staring at my bike. I am loving it.

Friends from Bangalore, could you please tell me the best Suzuki authorized service center here? I bought my bike from Aryan Suzuki, Thubarahalli, White Field Main Road. How is the service there? Your suggestions will be very helpful.

I get my bike serviced at Aryan, Thubarahalli(3 services completed).
There are only two mechs in this SVC. One guy for GS 150(named Balaji) nd the other guy for slingshot and access. i have no issues so far from this SVC.
You don't have to book for service, drop in directly in the morning around 8:45 to 9:30 AM and give the bike for servicing, you will get ur bike by 3-4 in the evening. I have been charged for oil and Rs.30 for consumables all the time, no extra charges so far.

I am satisfied so far(of course my expectations may be different: i just don't want them to mess my bike. Wash my bike, change engine oil, lube the relevant points, thats it).

          • Changed cities and went so to a different svc for the first time and the difference in the work they did was amazing. I can now, without reservation say that the suzuki svc in calicut is awful.

A normal servicing is nothing more than that. Be sure that the oil filter is replaced while changing the oil.

I need an urgent help from your exp. I got my new GS150R last week. When I took delivery, the dealer gave me the bike with 0.5 LTR of petrol. I immediately filled it with 10 LTR. The fuel indicator was showing 3 blocks. Now I have done 370KMS on ODO and still running on main (the fuel knob). But today evening while coming back from office I can see the last block blinking , inspite of me still riding in main. As per the manual, the last block is supposed to blink only when the fuel hits below 1.5L. and reserve capacity is ~3L. Why this conflict?

What should I do now? Refill next day or take the bike to SVC? Please help me
Took my bike to SVC yesterday (JAV Suzuki, Adyar, Chennai). Told them about the fuel indicator & knob issue. To my dismal they told me that the reserve capacity is 2 LTR and also the fuel indicator starts to blink on nearing the same 2 LTR . I told them about the manual, but again those morons started arguing with me. I think I need to figure out myself the whole mess now

MODERATORS I NEED YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE ::

I'd already PM'ed the thread starter sam9s and moderator MG regarding this and didnt recieved any response... Forum Moderators knindly help me..

I had created DIY procedures with detailed pics for DC conversion in GS150R with helps from our XBHP members.,

I received some request from GS members to post it in DIY thread., But in my opinion if it is present within the GS150R thread it'll be very useful and new GS users could easily spot it from the thread itself...

I request you to kindly post these links in the 1st page of this thread..

                        Thanks & Regards,
                        Magesh

That mechanics are partially correct as the fuel level varies while you ride the bike. It is easy to check it. Drain the fuel tank with a piece of hose and see when the indicator starts to blink. If the fuel left while it starts to flicker is more than about 1.5 litre, it needs replacement.
Disappearing of the last block in the fuel meter frequently while nearing the emptiness of fuel is common in our bike. I still think the problem in your bike is due to this.
Please check it before sending complaint to Suzuki.

                            Magesh,

I am personally against posting it in the DIY thread due to the present condition of some DC conversion threads. Some are posting weird ideas like adding some kind of diodes to the already DC converted power supplies and so on.

So please avoid posting it in the DIY thread or anywhere else to prevent such idiotic comments.

But the effort is yours and you decide what to do.

I wanted to post it in this thread itself and I too personally against in posting in some other threads., Sorry friends..
Since this DC conversion is particularly for our GS, having it here will have lot of meanings...
So that it'll be easier for our members to get their ideas/problems/queries get solved quickly...

                              This is what I feel,,

Now I need to get the attention from moderators for the next step... Any help please..
