Does Motul offer any 15W40 oil for 4 stroke bikes? I think their 15W40 oil is for marine engines. This doubt is because I am not using Motul or any other oil than Castrol.

      On Welcome to Motul
I could only find below for motorcycles:

      Mineral
      3000 4T Plus 10W30
      3000 4T Plus 20W40

      Semi-Synthetic
      5100 4T 15W50

      Fully-Synthetic
      300V 4T Factory Line 10W40
      300V 4T Factory Line 15W50
      7100 4T 20W50

If 300V 4T Factory Line 15w40 exists, I would prefer it over 10W40 and 15W50.

      slow internet connection over here(hometown)!

I do understand what you mean but the discussion about engine oil is going on endlessly as the discussion/debate about filling nitrogen in tire. (Here are two links. 1. Filling Nitrogen in tyres instead of Air - Page 18 | Tyres and Wheels | Car Forums - CarWale
                2. Inflating tyres with dry nitrogen - Team-BHP
One is going on from 2/2007 and the other was active from 6/11/2004 to 24/8/2010. Luckily enough, the moderators did close that thread on 24/8/2010, i.e. after 6 years and 2.5 months after starting but without reaching any conclusion).
You can use any oil you prefer but, I think, it is always better to use the oil with the same recommended viscosity index at 100 degree C temperature, i. e. any xxW-40 oil in our case.

                • Suggest Bike for Tall person like me around 6.2"

My Self Gagan staying in Delhi, working in Gurgaon .

My daily commuting is around 50KM ( Up and Down). In viewing this I sell out my pulsar 150CC & brought passion pro

But now i realized that I made a mistake , as far as mileage is concerned i am getting 55Kmpl but i am suffering from back problem as i am tall & slightly healthier :P.

Please suggest any good bike within 70-80 rupees in 150 cc segment, which can give me decent mileage also will not become problem for me ( oh!! my back is getting more pain day by day).

What about Suzuki GS and also anything you can suggest me

                  Thanks.

Ok guys, you are now just confusing me, let it be, can you guys just tell us how much each of this oil can(1ltr) costs?
(I guess motul costs around 750 what about the rest)
and I've confirmed that the last one can of oil I used in my bike is Motul 300V 4T 15W-50, its exactly whats written on the empty can.
So I'm not sure about 15W-40.

One of the main plus points of GS is its comfortable riding posture. Anyhow, do a test ride - a longer one - with any of your friend’s GS.

Motul 300V 4T 15W-50 is synthetic oil. Use any good 20W-40 mineral oil now and change to xxW-40 semi synthetic after the first or second servicing.
I am changing the oil, oil filter etc myself and using semi synthetic from the time of second servicing. My bike is 21’475 kms old now and is in good condition.
Mineral oil costs around 200 rupees and the SS around 300. The MRP of Castrol 15W-40 SS was Rs.317/- when I bought it last.

(Engine oil is a sensitive subject on which – as I said earlier – discussions/debates are going on endlessly. It is easy to find out a bike suitable for your needs but cannot find out an oil on which every others agree for it).

Motul costs 230/- for mineral and 795/- for synth....also for our engines xxw40 is recommended....so go for 300v 4t 10w40....(only after 10000km on odo)

Yeah, very hard to find fault though I can manage a couple now that Ive used it for over a year and 10000 km.

Given the mostly sad condition of the roads on my commute(and bangalore in general), I kind of keep wishing for a more manouverable bike with larger ground clearence so I can ride over stone and gravel strewn, potholed and bumpy roads and footpaths without much drama in my attempts to beat the traffic. Ive scraped the bottom of the bike's exhaust more than once in my attempts to "beat the traffic".

Also the fact that the bike needs to be revved over 6k rpm to have any semblance of a responsive acceleration. Its good that the first gear is so small, you can easily get into the higher revs as you shift to second. On one hand its a hassle to rev high to overtake while bikes like fz and rtr do it with relative ease from lower to middle revrange; on the other hand, the nicely bunched power up at the top from 6k-8k makes it worth it if you can stay there.

                              But of course, Im nitpicking.

                              By the way, congrats!

@jambuster: The new GS is no uncle looking bike by any means. Just go for a test ride.

I cant find any bike within 70-80 rupees that can take me anywhere, let alone you, being slightly healthier.
