    2. Be sure that the side panels are correctly fitted.
    3. Try to buy the bike on the day it reaches the showroom. Otherwise, select one in which engine oil is not already filled.
    4. Don’t forget to ask for the user’s manual.
The new GS is with modified gear ratios which gives better pickup. The headlight visor and visor nuts are different and the bike is free from vibration due to misaligned visor nuts. Fuel tank is antirust Teflon coated.
The paper needed is the original and copy of your voter’s ID card, pan card or passport to prove your identity.
The dealers are not financing but they will surely help you to get a loan but try to avoid it.
    All the best.
Thanks dude, I'll make sure of all these points while buying.
The dealer asked me to get some local reference as well, since I am from Rajasthan and now buying the bike in Pune.

Also, if I am going to prefer the one in which engine oil is not already filled, then which oil should I insist on filling in it for the first time?

Some of the mechanics have a habit of riding the new bikes to test it. I have witnessed such incidents when the new GS was in market. That is why I asked to avoid such bikes.
The SCs usually use Castrol 20W-40 mineral oil.

        that's correct,
on many places the half boil knowledgeable mechanics used to rev the bike too hard and driver too rash to spoil it,
this is applicable to all brands and even four wheelers.

my bike insurance is due in next week, please tell me which company insurance ois good ?

and at the same time it marks the completion of two years (warranty period finishes) for my gs, and my gs crossed 12760 kms and still its going strong.

I accepted the delivery of a new greenish blue GS150R today. Feels good to hear the soft rumble of the Suzuki engine again!

            • So, you decided to go for a GS amidst all these winds of change carrying dirtbikes, minidukes, new pulsars, bigger REs and whatnots. Thats great.

Unfortunately my pocket is too small to afford those newer bikes. Apart from that its hard for me to point out flaws with this bike. My main priorities were FE and comfort which this bike fulfills perfectly.

                • I called up a dealership here to find out if they have the 2012 version in stock. The price will continue to be unchanged at 73k for the new model. They don't have a single piece in stock right now.

The lady on the phone took my contact details and assured me a test drive once they get a new model for service

Hence I will continue to be DIY instead of going there for service. I was also offered the last 2011 piece for 66k. Do you think it's worth it? Or should I wait for the 2012 one?
Better late by 30 minutes than early by 30 years.

The difference is about Rs.8000. In my opinion, try to save some money and go for a new bike. The feeling of owning something new is good.

I am not going for this deal since the bike is black in color. But I feel this deal may be good enough for someone who wants to save 7k since the upgrade is only cosmetic in nature with no mechanical change.

The only doubt I have is that this might be the test mule and hence (ab)used.

That is precisely why the reliability of used vehicles are obscure. If you want to be sure, then better get a new one.

                        • New bike

I was wondering if there was any way to tell whether the bike is abused or not by the dealer before buying?

I don't know about god, but the only divine experience I have is while riding my bike, with no destination in mind, just watching the road go by, being lost in the moment.......
