Rest its smooth and mileage is 58 to 62 on highway at 60 to 70kmph.
It seems you are extremely anxious about the sounds from your bike. All the engines make sound as there are a number of moving parts in it. A completely silent engine is yet to be designed.
The sound you hear is from the auto decompression valve. Accelerate gradually and if you hear that sound again, just downshift.
The mileage you get is excellent and if you like keep the bike in the same good condition, avoid all unnecessary repairing.
Knowing the correct valve clearance will surely lead you again to that insane local mechanic who said there is no decompression valve in any other bike than GS; I am sure. Keep away from such morons who spoil the bike.

Nothing to say other than excellent..

While scrolling through the photos, initially I thought you'd used fog projectors until I saw your fantastic work did on it ..

Great work there but one work is still pending from your side., add one rotating red colour tower lamp with siren, that's it everyone will move out of your way...

Dr.Arul sir I request you to kindly post your ownership experience.. It's been a long time since your last frequent visits here..

      So please please post it..

Frankly, i really did not notice any difference in power between the 2 modes.
Actually there is no change between the two modes. The gear shift indicator light will start glowing by 4.5K RPM in Eco Mode and in Power Mode it will start by 7.5K RPM. Other than this, there is absolutely no difference. This is why I just put it in the third mode with does not show Eco or Power and the light doesn't come up annoyingly.

Arul sir! Hats off! This is a very very cool idea similar to the ones people use in Enfields. I have some queries,

        1. When you changed the bike to white, why were you needed to change the same black chrome mud guards and the disc brake?
        2. What is the spec of these two HID bulbs?
        3. What battery are you using and how did you set up the electricals in the bike to handle this load?
        4. How much did this cost and where?
        5. I often come to Erode as its my native place. Someday, can we meet up and get this set up in my GS also?

        • [QUOTE=firegun;823567]Hello Friends

Here i have attached some images of My modification to my GS[Light

Firegun owesome job with the lights. Congrats.

I am a new gs owner. Daily I have around 40 km of highway ride at night while returning from office.

I am quite frustrated with stock 35w lighting.

          Can you help a little.
          My queries are
          1. How much current stock rr unit gives for the ac head light
          2. Can I plonk 60/65 philips extreme vision hs1 bulb. Will that be fully bright. As the stock 35w need 3 amp and 65w need 5 amp.

          3. Will there be any damage to the wiring or hl assembly

          4. Do I need a relay (some sort of) to connect the 65w bulb

As I found you were the oldest guy to plonk a hid wirh fz rr and stock coil and battery how did that tuen out for you?

Being a new bike (2 months) I don't want to do major rewinding or electrical change

          Thanks

Being a new bike, I would suggest you wait till the warranty is over before you make any sort of modifications.

            • Yes that's why I want descent / acceptable light for night drive with minimal change, so that I can go back to stock setup easily if required.

My fiero f2 with philips hs1 35w gave better light than this :banghead:

                Still to go:
1.Front Fork Rubber will be changed to Red colour
Superb job sir! and great efforts for those beaming lights and special efforts taken for posting those pictures , i liked that red color grab rail and above that the Amp meter showing battery / charging status matching the console is simply outstanding.

Problem with our GS is reflector ( gives those stupid reflection on low beam projecting light towards left and dark spots in right side which is dangerous as you cannot see any thing unless within that projected light area which is very less , at speeds its dangerous for pot holes , any interfaence , dogs etc) i have to always use high beam in night time if no street light is present.
Also basic lighting is week ,may be those pilot lights ar consuming some power.

If you're worried about electrical warranty, then wait till 30000kms or 2years..

For the time being, you can try yours hand on 55/60w halogen bulb..
Go for Osram Nightbreaker / Phillips Xtreme vision..
And replace the pilot lamps with LED type bulbs to reduce some load (~8watts)..

So.,you'll get a little improved illumination which will help your night time riding..

But that wide spread low beam is also very effective with Full DC 60/55w in a bumpy / unlaid /pothole roads where speed is less than 20kmph...

It's pleasure to ride and people riding upfront gives way quickly thinking that a car is coming behind when honked..

                      • Friends I found gs wiring in this forum. after studying I came up with the above solution.
Hope the above pix is self explanatory.

                        What's your take on this?

The full load current requirement for 35w hl is 2.9 amp while for 55/60 w is nearly 5 amp.

I think this setup will be able to handle that

Next, I cannot understand how this new battery becomes an additional supply to the headlight even if it is connected properly to get charged while riding, unless you connect the headlight directly to DC.
The output from the 35 watts bulb is enough if the light is more focussed. So, try to find out a suitable reflector for the headlight.
The other option is converting the bike to full DC by rewinding the coil and replacing the RR with that of Ape three wheeler.
In both cases, the stock battery is enough.

I didn't measure the stock RR so i dont know

                                2. Can I plonk 60/65 philips extreme vision hs1 bulb. Will that be fully bright. As the stock 35w need 3 amp and 65w need 5 amp.
yea you can use 60/55W bulb with stock RR but replace those pilot lamp and rear name plate lights with LED's so that you can gain about 12W

                                3. Will there be any damage to the wiring or hl assembly
Upto 60/55W head lamp you dont need to worry about the stock wiring but if you use 130/100W you need separate wiring with Car Relays

                                4. Do I need a relay (some sort of) to connect the 65w bulb
From my experience you dont need relay for 60/55W bulb

As I found you were the oldest guy to plonk a hid wirh fz rr and stock coil and battery how did that tuen out for you?
That is like a Trial and Error Experiment but it worked well
