AFAIK, you don't have to flush the engine when shifting from mineral or SS to FS oil. Just drain out the old oil and fill the new oil.Originally posted by Nihal View PostHi guys good morning.....guys I need a help I want to change my enginal oil to full synthetic but the problem is. I paid 1000rs as booking advance for Black Gs150r..

Ah! The never ending debate continues...

another question...will getting a naked chain cover affect performance...is it any advantage to do it...i was told that a apache 180 chain guard maybe a straight fit...KM

Its easy to get 52-58 kpl in GS , i get 54 kpl in worst and hapless traficOriginally posted by KIRTIMANNAN View PostWow you guys are my Gods...How can you achive such mileage in city Magesh...Its hard to believe..
Am sure we ride the same bike...so please tell me how is it that i can never get more than 46-46 kmpl on my bike....
conditions in mumbai at peak hours , and am happy now(better than all the bikes in 125-150cc) when my most fuel efficient bajaj boxer was returning almost same figures under same conditions though on regular driving it was delivering 68KPL,
pls assure fuel volume you get , some times try filling on volume basis like 1/2/3 liters instead of currency based ( worth rupees) like Rs 100/200/300/500 or so . this will give accurate milege , drive in eco mode maximum , if confirmed please get carburetor it tuned from ASC , bottle test do not ensure regular condition milege.

Belt drive is good option , as it will be sound/maintennece free , but will affect rolling resistance ( increase due) compared to chain drive , also you require tensioner assembly to keep it tight .Originally posted by firegun View Post@ALL

That is awesome, i was always wondering why would no one(Motorbike manufacturers) in India has ever adapted belt transmission(exemption Kinetic Luna).
PLEASE KEEP US UPDATED.

Naked chain cover will attract lot of dusts and requires frequent maintenance and lubrication.,And chain noise will be clearly audible which will sometime irritate the peaceful riding in GS.,Originally posted by KIRTIMANNAN View PostMy response in Bold...

Some amount of weight (say3-5kg) gets reduced which might help in negligible increase in performance..
I and few others here used to change oil filter during every oil change, since it costs Rs.30 and main reason is we buy 1ltr oil can and dont want to keep the remaining 100ml..Because,the oil filter cup will have around 100ml of old oil left inside..Originally posted by Nihal View Postand what about the oil filter bro...
If you change the oil type from one another, change the oil filter also.,

Rear Tyre change and vibration at foot pegs !
Hello experts,
I had a feeling of instability 'cos of rear Zapper Y tyre. With some research and expert suggestion now replaced it with Michelin Sirac Street. Now the ride is really plush and very very stable at any speed and leaning angle. Thanks to its tread pattern structure which gives confidence which I din't get previously.
But after Tyre change I feel vibrations at foot pegs and break pedal
. Is it because of change of Tyre ? I have fitted Michelin Sirac with the same stock Tyre specification i.e. 100/90-18 M/C 56P .
Need suggestions....

Best Option among the three if factory fittedOriginally posted by vikhyath View PostIsn't shaft drive a better option?
.
Shaft transmission will be the least maintenance among three(chain, belt and Shaft) transmissions. But the installation will be expensive and without a good mechanic's help, it seems damn tough to me.
I have seen most of the drive shaft problems in cars are like once in 7-10 years/may start after 60k kms.
Drive shaft cost was 46K for my Santro AT
