If synth /semi do not offer performance and longer drain interval wats use of spending so huge sums.
Some people do not recommend synth oils in GS ,as we cannot see through window as oil clinges to all moving surface , its difficult to predict status of oil( level , color).can any body highlight this issue.

Regardless of the problem, first drain some oil and keep it at or just above the middle level..

Wipe the leaked oil from all over the engine case , run the bike for few distance and check where does the oil come from..

Oil leaking from suzy engine , how old is your bike and how many kms have you covered , have ever attempted to loose / tight screws near engine area , engine oil , etc. how you ride . these are piculiar problem often associated with bajaj engines , i have almost ruthlessly driven my GS from past 5 months to cover almost 10 K kms , but no issues with engine or any other parts of the bike , it has taken all beating and returned all the abuses with smooth ride.
          Pls check with ASC

I think you are not getting it correct. I wasn't talking about downshifting. I'm talking about upshifting.

Pls check specs for both the types , search in local shops or authorised distributor , i don't think there should much difference when people around here have installed irradium plugs or likes

at what RPM you upshift , GS has one of the most linear shifting available , how old is your bike , after 2K and 2 oil changes it should be ok

My bike is only a week old ! Got it last Thursday. Covered 500kms and I ride the bike keeping rpm below 4.5k and speed below 55kmph. I don't know what could be the problem. Never played with anything on the engine. SVC people have told me to be there on Monday... I never thought this could happen to a new Suzuki bike !

It might be bcos the bolts are not properly tightened which make the oil to leak through the gaskets.. This is just my assumption.. Better post a snap of it to make us understand clearly...

Anyhow since you're taking it on monday, clearly watch what the engineers/mechanics are doing.. Get a clear report from them..

Make sure oil is really leaking from engine , some times there is oil splashed while filling . we ignore while taking delivery .wipe out the part were suspected leak happens , on central stand start engine with gears engaged ( be ware and cautious , it is dangerous ).
Be tough on SVC people if problem persist and ask for replacement of whole bike , hope your bike is not registered and that should be done.there is no way you to accept this product and that too suzuki GS were reliablity and quality are taken for granted

I too think the same way. The SVC people told me about some seal on the cylinder head. Is it a big problem or a minor one considering the bike has run 500kms ?? I'm worried

The chain gets frequently loose mainly because of the length of the chain and the gear ratio for increased pickup.
The movement of the sprocket you mentioned too is common in every GS. Just ignore it.

As far as I know, this switching back to mineral or SS oil will not affect your bike in any way. If you still doubt, try an engine flushing but then too, a small part of the old oil and the liquid you use to flush the engine is kept inside while draining and it mixes with the fresh oil you fill.
In my personal opinion, replacing the old oil with any xxW-40 oil is safe.

It is a strange complaint never heard before. Remove the excess oil in the engine immediately and get the bike checked at the SC.

CPR7HSA is the recommended standard sparkplug for our bike but you can use CPR6HSA if the standard plug is not available.
Why cannot try CR7HIX iridium sparkplug? Send a mail to [email protected] if you are planning to buy it.

I cleaned the front portion of the engine (using water and kerosene), rode the bike for 4-5 kms and rechecked the head portion. There was some amount of oil under it. Hope the SVC will solve the problem.
The bike is not registered as I didn't get the temporary registration certificate yet. The RTO people misspelled my name on the certificate and the SVC people said that the RTO office software is down, causing delay
