May be nothing more than a leak through the head gasket due to incorrect tightening of the nuts. Get it checked and corrected at the SC.

Why cannot try CR7HIX iridium sparkplug? Send a mail to [email protected] if you are planning to buy it.
Thank you for giving iridium plug part no

          • Hi guys,

Got my bike after second servicing, and this time, I've put Motul 5100 15W50. Even though there are so many things written in the manual that should be done on the second servicing, the service center just gave a complimentary wash to my bike, change the oil filter(as requested by me) and put oil and gave it back to me(I was there the whole time). I was just wondering, do they ever even check for loose chains, brake pads, tyre wear and tear, and all those pretty nice things mentioned in the owner's manual(I guess I'll have to do all these things manually)

The bike is running smooth after the oil change, but the thud sound it makes is still going on when I change from 2nd to 3rd or from 3rd to 2nd, and sometimes even when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear.

Buddy, mine is making that sound from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 2nd, I mean, both upshift and downshift also I downshift only when the speed is reduced for that appropriate gear.

I hope this won't happen yaar......

Though I am happy with the current performance of the changed oil, since my bike didn't went past 110kmph earlier, and now I was able to cross 125+ kmph on the same road........ and the good thing was that there wasn't any burning smell after that......(earlier when I used to cross 90kmph, it smelt like something was burning near the engine, in both my earlier bike and the new one)

I too wont hope it should happen in ur bike.. Just shared my experience when I used it..

Please share your experience with this oil after 200-300kms of usage..

PS: Regarding the speed you've mentioned, a good straight road with SC filled Castrol Oil itself took my bike 127kmph.. And 120k is normally happens in straight roads without much fuss..125k with little crouch.. Diff is how long the oil lasts.. Mineral will last less than SS.. If oil is good, then engine components will also be in good shape..Simple

Ok buddy, will sure write down my experience after 300km, which will be 10 days from now I suppose.......
About speed, in Pune the roads are straight, though I can't pull the full throttle due to traffic, I hope I might find some road where I can do that here......

Buddy I got a lot of questions for you!

Any idea if the thud sound will go off by its own? Did you mention it during the service? Also, do you get the engine heating problem? What mileage do you get?

I don't have any idea about what causes the thud sound and how to reduce it since its totally random and comes and goes whenever it likes......
Yes I did mentioned about that during the service, but nothing was done about it since the only thing server center guys did was change the oil and give a complimentary wash to my bike......
About heating problem, well, if you stop at many red signals, it will heat up, since our bike's engine is air cooled, it needs constant flow of air to cool off, so turn off the engine at signals..... rest assured, if anything happens to engine due to heating, it will be replaced anyway by the company as the bike is in warranty.....
about mileage, last one was 44.25kmpl, here is a detailed list you might find interesting: http://goo.gl/oJ3cd

                        • Rode my friend sling shot today which had completed 2nd service felt its engine is better than gs150r.

No balancer shaft or any thing but engine is noise free no resonance or clyinder head sound.

Exhaust was louder than gs but was nice.

No thud sound while shifting gear.

To find neutral is difficult when engine is on, so no false neutral.

Take a test ride on slingshot and feel it.

                            • Hello all GS150R memebers...Recently sold my 2005 honda unicorn. No self start, so it was getting bit painful to start at each signal. I was looking for other 150 cc machines.Incidently I saw one at a traffic signal. Instantly was attracted, coming closer was bowled over by the instrument cluster. After selling my unicorn, visited suzuki showroom, found some weird folks at Value suzuki, bangalore. Asked for a test drive, said no petrol...! Waited for 45 mins for the test drive and was impressed with the overall performance. But the sales team put me off. Thinking.. before buying their product the behaviour is such, after sales will be unforgettable.Like in all cities in bangalore you see a very few of them, and resale is pathetic. But despite all this I want to book this vehicle. The question I would like to ask the members is...

1.The bike originally seems to have an engine balancer technolgy when launched causing the smooth engine which every one have appreciated. But read that in the 2012 model they have removed this and have given SJCS(suzuki jet cooling system). Is this correct...? I am used to the smooth engine of the unicorn, the test drive vehicle seemed to be bit harsh. Has any one driven a 2009 GS150R and 2012 GS150R and found the smoothness to be different.
2.How has the bike been handling for the past 3 years now... Read about rusting/spares issue/poor service..I guess they must have improved over 3 years..
3.Has the mileage dropped from the begining..??

Please advise as waiting to buy one...

This may be one of reason GS doesn't sale as it should , sales person are not enthuistic as honda and bajaj or yamaha .
Engine balancer shaft remains in new GS ,it was highlighted when launched , it may be present in unicorn too but honda doesn't hype and would like to keep it a secret.SJCS may be a term again highlighted as a marketing tool and may help engine cool on long drives. though engine is smoother compared to new unicorn or dazzler in all speed ranges.
New bikes seems to be improved a lot in terms of quality , i personally feel its quality best than competion can offer.regarding service it is as it is ( but again which manufacturer provides better service)
There is no reason to get lower FE in newer models as no changes are made in engine and transmision part. My GS returns 54-55 KPL after 9900 kms and 4 services .35- 55- 65 KPH average driving speed range.
You can go for GS150r and live happily ever after..
