    @punarvasu.....
Your village folks also plays a major part in your bikes maintainance....I have such people in our city who use my tank as a platform for their kids to stand and then photograph them.....

True. In villages we are not allowed to or we cannot misuse or mishandle others properties.

I am getting above 55km mileage even though I drive very fast.
@Rajeshbw - Thanks for your inputs. What I meant was that the number of kms that I do on my bike on a monthly basis is quite low. I do only around 300 kms/month. Hence the question surrounding the frequency at which the oil needs to be changed in my case.

Sorry, I should have been much more clearer in my earlier post.

          To all.,,

In the last six days, I rode more than 1000kms just official work not for touring...
Four days back when I was on the way to Pondicherry from Chennai (around 160kms), I hit the three digit mark in my bike and managed to drive in that range for around or more than 50kms..

And for my surprise it returned 50kmpl avg,, 606kms for 12lts of fuel.. avg spd is 80-90kmph...

That was the 1st time I took my bike to three digits, and I noticed that it was done just above 8k rpm .. Also 90kmph at 7k rpm...
First time I overtook a VOLVO doing at 100k... He is giving way to me after hearing my horn sound... Oh! that was an amazing moment...

But day before yesterday when I was again heading to Pondicherry, I rode my bike at three digits ,,which was done easily at 7k rpm itself...

Max speed it reached was 112kmph at 8.2krpm (full throttle)... It doesn't goes above this range..

While returning, my bike hit the reserve level in Pondicherry, so filled the tank immediately to check its maximum capacity..

Able to fill 14.63ltrs (Rs.940) + Reserve... So 18ltrs approximately...

Bike still shows full level in indicator even after 180kms+..

As usual it is more stable even at full throttle., no wrist pain.. perfect bike for long distance, thanks to dual horn ,which helped a hell lot of times.... a very good road presence.. a real highway cruiser...

A very bunch of thanks to all the DC converted owners of GS ..
It was a great day for me to ride in ECR at night with full confidence of the road.. I cruised at 80-90kmph at night time in ECR..
Visbility with 55/60w philips xtreme vision is great and it helped me to ride safely.. So I'm going to hop on to OSRAM NB+ soon...

Yesterday evng gave my bike for 3rd free service at 6280kms., Asked them to check the engine noise which is happening after 50kmph...

Today got my bike and after riding some 20kms found that the noise is still coming.. They had wrote as CHECKED in their service list for this problem...

So my next service will be at another svc to hope & get the best from my bike..
Great to hear about your ride on the ECR, particularly in the night. Few questions from me. Pls could you assist. I am quite new to this space.

          1. I feel that the stock headlight in the GS150R is quite weak. I would like to do an upgrade. Which one is recommended and where can I do it in Chennai?

2.What's the dual horn that you are referring it? Is it the stock horn?

          3.What's this DC converter?

P.S: GS150R's stomach(fuel tank ) is quite big. I once filled 17 liters at SHELL(Ekkaduthangal) and it still had the capacity to take in more fuel.

            • Spent a lot on electronics for the headlight, why not the reflector ?

After many pros and cons weighing around since my bike got converted to full DC electricals(the first GSpian here to do so..and perhaps in whole India too) six months ago, with different bulbs and headlamp units, I am pretty convinced by now that the reflector of the GS150R lamp is the major factor beyond that poor lighting (in stock conditions).

Hence I need earnest and well informed suggestions as to which bike's(or car's) reflector can I replace the GS150R's reflector with to get a more focused beam ???? (instead of the irregular unfocused square).

The reflector of GS150R can show some light if it is provided with a 55W HID at the best or else the magic vanishes once the bike goes high speed.

So I want to try out a different reflector now to make my bike shine daylight on dark nights at speed.

Do you mean to say that the stock bulb is fine and it's only the reflector that's responsible for the poor lighting?

Even if you want to try a different reflector, how will you find one that will fit into the GS150R?

                    1. Not the wattage of the bulb but the reflector is mainly responsible for the weak light. The reflector and the bulb are designed to provide asymmetrical low beam as per the norms of the ECE regulations.
A simple upgrading of the bulb will not give any better result. Try to convert the bike to full DC and use 55 watt Osram Night Breaker bulb.
                    2. That means the two horns in our bike.

Rs. 550/- for the plug and Rs. 150/- for packing and forwarding. If interested, send a mail to [email protected]. Perhaps it may be available in the shops selling bike accessories there in Bangalore.

It is very difficult to find out a suitable reflector matching the headlight unless you change the headlight assembly itself.

                    • Leakage problem

                      Guys,

I am facing a peculiar issue. I suspect that there is some kind of leakage of oil/coolant on my bike.

Please see the first picture attached. You could see the dark circles on the floor.

Picture 2 captures the underneath. You could see some oily type stuff. I am not sure what it is. I am facing this problem only my latest service.

Also, there is something dangling in the air underneath the engine. I have captured it in the third picture. Does anyone know what it is?

Have you seen any 35W HID around?

If I'm recollecting it correctly, 55W HIDs are for Cars and often come in pairs...

They oiled your chain hence the extra oil is coming out of the front sprocket....
the tube comes out of the petrol tank....put it in back side....of the rr unit....

100 days is little early... as MSN(Madhu) says, try to evaluate the oil quality, If you think it might do/feel better by a replacement then go ahead.

I'm not in B'lore anymore. Will try to get it during my next visit to B'lore. Rama was on getting an Iridium plug few days back.
Do I need to buy any new Cable for Iridium or stock will do?
