  • On the internet, I could see some 12V DC 35W Philips Xenon Arc HID Bulbs(Kits) for reflector type headlight setups in Motorcycles. Are these available in India?

Although finer 19SWG can be wound more in comparison to 18SWG, 19SWG offers more resistance... etc

    Question:
are there any good LED substitute for Position, Indicator/Signal bulbs with low wattage?

    currently GS has:
    4 Indicator/Signal bulbs of 10W each
2 Position bulbs of 5W each
1 License plate bulb of 5W
    1 Headlight of 35W of type HS1

Yes Sparkot, FYI a maximum of 2 turns more when compared to 18SWG (in case of our 12pole coil)... The diff in resistance is in milli ohms range..

      • Distance covered by non-stop GS riding

Hello everyone. I'm asking a doubt that comes to mind..

How long has the GS been ridden non-stop? can we ride it non-stop for say 300 km without stopping and with no back-pain or wrist-pain? non-stop would mean absolutely no stops in between..

          • Thanks Maestro, but have you tried to stretch it to say 400 or 500 kms?

            • Friends, I'd updated my Picasa album with magneto cover opening procedure.

Please go through it and tell me if further details required in it.

Remember it's only for opening the cover and taking out the coil.

No further steps for DC setup are added.

As far as I know, you can go non-stop up to whatever distance you like if the bike is in good condition and is having enough fuel in it. There is no possibility of overheating as the air cools the engine and keep the heat within a certain limit.
But it will be very difficult to ride continuously for very long distance, especially for a new biker like you.

Thanks Kirtimann and Punarvasu.. the idea of riding continuously somehow is very appealing.. and gs it seems is capable of long rides.. hence the curiosity regarding the non-stop distance..

I have done 830 kms on it in a single day, without tiring myself or the bike.
Maestro has done some really big trips on it.

While at WOT, a GS150R can travel whole day given the roads. No seizure, no overheat......even in moderately maintained bikes.

Suzuki builds tough bikes and engines.

                              • Help me guys

Hello guys, Just completed ma first service @ shri sai suzuki in thane, I had told the mech that the bike wobbles slightly, so much that it can be felt only at constant speed of about 40 - 50 on highway.... complete ma service and the wobble i feel has slightly incresed.... told the mech he says he not sure but feels like the mcwheel is bent.......... i mean wtf.. its a new bike not even a single scratch or stain.... how can that be true..... I m not very knowledgeable about these things....... mech said his engineer was not available and asked me to come later so that we can get it checked, M goin these saturday as i have a half day in office.
Guys please suggest, can it be mcwheel problem for such a new bike or there can be something else? It cost me 1200/- bucks for the first service including teflon, oil change, engine flush, and wash, is that ok ??
also when i leave the throttle at 3 gear there is a tak !! sound is it the chain.... mech could not do anything about it and says... gear ka itna awaz toh ayega he...

I dont buy that seriously guys........please help
