Today met the insurance guy and discussed about the accident. Total estimate he told me was of 29000Rs...Metal parts cover 100% insurance and the fibre parts cover only 50%...I have to give the whole amount after the bike is fixed then after 1 month i will get the cheque for about 20000Rs...or more..
About the scratches issue he told me that teflon coating and some polishing work will do the job...and bike will look like new..
But was feeling sad when i saw my baby in the centre with its broken face..
dieing to get my baby back...

@MSN bro dont worry she did no police complain...also she did'nt even noted down my bike's no...as i quickly ran off after cleaning the blood on my face and straightening the handle bar with some guys help...
I know if i would have waited to how that B**ch is feeling den i wud have surely ended up being in big trouble and u dont know how pune people are...no matter its the girl's mistake they wud have banged me...

        • Guys,

Can you tell if these pilot lamps are the same socket as out pilot lamps ?

And will they be bright enough in out bike ? it looked pretty dim when they tested it in the shop so i didnt buy it yet, there was one really bright on, but it was 400 bucks and had different socket.

These two just have single LED.

And what bushing part needs to be changed when we change the pilot lamps ? i didnt get why the same rubber bushing of the visor cant be used again

            • My Review(after 450+ kms)

Hi Guys! Iam a proud owner of GS150R

              Distance and Speed:

Finished 450kms after 3weeks passed(from buying). In this while i did cross 6k rpm mark and went upto 75. I went past 70kmph 4 times. But normally i maintain bike between 40-50 except some powerful overtaking(60kmph+). 80% time i kept at 40-50, 15% less than 40kmph and 5% above 50kmph. Will give the bike for first service in 2 days.

              Mileage Calculation:

Used R-R method 3 time and got mileages 40,47,47

For the last one once the fuel came to reserve i switched to reserve for a moment then back to on. By this method i got 54kmph but dont know if it is not accurate since extar fuel might have flowed from reserve.

              Comfort and Control:

Excellent... Front Discs sharp enough to stop within few metres.
Rear drum is quite disappointing. It handles potholes easily but bounces a bit on speed breakers. Its very flickable and stable too.... Got hit twice by 2 cars(front and back) but did not fall down due to balance and control.

              Engine:

I felt initial pick up was ok but once you reach 35+kmph your bike overtakes almost all vehicles due to demonic acceleration. The 13.8bhp engine does a pretty good job. The sound of the engine i felt was like a mini bullet(thumping sound... quiet) and its quietness reminds me of Honda Activa.

              Electicals and Electronics:

The horn is amazing, it sounds loud and neat almost like a car so that it is very useful while overtaking. The parking lights are very well designed. The Head light lacks focus but amazing brightness. The indicators on front and rear work like a charm. I love the brightness of tail light, damn amazing.

The Speedometer console rocks which shows big font speed, large tachometer, 2 trip meters, fuel and time

              THE YOUTH FACTOR!!!

This is the most important segment. What today's youth want(the factors):
              1) Sporty Looks
              2) Pick up
              3) Affordable Price RangeStylish console
              4) Decent Mileage
              5) Comfort

              Youth and Sporty looks(8/10):
Well! GS150R looks very attractive and stylish but not sporty enough as R15, Fazer and Apache. Though the stylish head and tail with alloy wheels do a great job overall, it could have had more stylish fuel tank, crash guard and naked chain. As far as speedometer is concerned it is very sporty and sylish. Definitely its a youth bike but not very sporty. But a few modifications such as stickering, mirror change, removing saree guard and chain case will make the bike much attractive than pulsar and apache.

              Pickup(8/10):
As far as initial pickup goes its fine for a 150cc bike but once you cross 40 you can accelerate faster than most bikes(Inc FZ) and overtake bus and trucks in 2 seconds. Compared to Apache, FZ it does have less initial pickup. The adrenaline rush is not present. But at top speeds above 110kmph only R15 can beat its acceleration(in 150cc segment).

              Affordable Price Range(10/10):
My GS150R costed me around 70,000 Rs.(onroad including accesories). Hats off to price range, more worth than price. With its speedo console, build quality it is competitively priced. Defenitely affordable for middle class and upper middle class people.

              Decent Mileage(10/10):
Forget the word decent, lets say great mileage.Practically it gives minimum 50+ in city riding and 55+ in high ways(after 1st service). Thats much more for a 150cc, 150kg bike! Best in its class.

              Comfort(9/10):
Excellent. The double suspension handles rocky roads an potholes as some tar roads. Very nice balance and control. Very much flickable and zap through corners and bends. Braking is excellent overall and control is great. Stability is amazing. I went upto 75kmph(before 1st service). The only sound was the wind in my face, no vibrations, no sounds, absolutely amazing.

              Cons(Youth's perspective):
As every bike this has its cons, according to me:
              1) Initial pickup could have been better
              2) Could have had crash guard, better mirrors and naked chain.
              3) Bit heavy for heavy traffic handling but once you are average driver its easy.
4)Colour choices and paint quality could have been be more.

              Conclusion(9/10):
Overall a great bike. The best bike that i know which provides excellent balance between looks, performance and cost. I am blessed enough to have this one. I chose Metallic Flint Grey color since it looks decent and attractive. I congratulate each GS150R owner and thank Suzuki for providing a masterpiece. Waiting for 1st service and will update soon!!!

                That's well said Sameer..

Regarding the style factor, I'm sure you might have checked the pics posted by segagt 0 in page 717..
Regarding the rear brake, try changing the brake lever spring during servicing.

My bike also gives me erratic mileage. some times 55 some times 40-45.
Somebody in the forum commented that R to R method is unreliable in GS.
So I am currently not worrying about it much. Just turn the reserve knob and heads to petrol pump..

What's your opinion about riding in rough roads. My bike is giving terrible jerks from front. Ride on highways is super smooth though

I usually ride in rough roads a lot and then get into main road. It handles pot holes easily and cracks too but i feel it jumps a bit on sharp speed breakers. Will give for first service in 2 days and will rectify some issues including rear break and headlight focus. How many days since u purchased?

You are getting jerks, in what way?

I just gave my GS for 5th service yesterday. The bike also needs a paint job as some sick bastard scribbled all over the tank while it was parked.

Its just that the ride is very rough on country roads, especially the front suspension is not up to the mark.

About the style quotient, I have removed the saree guard, rear mudflap extension, put on a custom tank zipper guard and changed the RVM. Planning for a K&N by 7th service..

@hidalko: hey yes i've changed the handle bars of pulsar 200. i've dropped down a bit the entire visor set headlights and everything leaving a small place for the front shocks to play...but i've made sure that the number plates wont touch the front mudguard..i've removed the rubber cover on the front shocks...lifted the height of the rear shocks using clamps and the most imp. removed the rear full chain cover and put on the small plastic chain cover like on fz and removed the saree guard..i think removal of all these stuffs has decreased the weight of my bike because i can feel the pickup's gone up.

Awesome modification. Really bike looks so sporty and useful. Its very decent too, not very funky and low class style, nice stickers and rim. Can you tell me the cost for this modification?

Yeah! My tank too a kid scratched but i coud not beat him since he is very little. Suspension ok with me, i havent tried very rough roads, but on all roads its good. but wet road performance is not impressive. Saw that modification by segagt, looks awesome. Will try soon, will change mirrors, do stickering, rim paint, chain case removal, etc. But saree guard removal, Whats RVM? how can mom sit in that thing without it???
