Choking

Me too brother facing this choking problem from buying time,changed airfilter and sprkplug at 12000km, but the problem still persists. Some guys thought the meaning of choking as bike running like run with choke , but its related to fuel supply ..may be as MACH50 told to clean Jet but not air filter as i already replaced at 12000km ....
BTW My bike is now at MAIN SC pondy(taken by sub dealer mech) I went yesterday to test drive but was told ready by 9pm only....things changed are Bore & piston And CAMCHAIN
So i returned to native.. My Mech go 2morrow to pick up the bike...

Don't mistake me the clips really proves how hard the mechanic breaking his head on fixing your bike problem

Don't take the delivery until you are satisfied with the service (till you feel the issue is really resolved)

My bike went to reserve on one of my long rides while my speed was over 100kmph,but by then the bike was running on empty tank.Switched to reserve and rode to fuel pump.But thats normal.Never had this engine bogging problem at high speeds.

I had the engine bogging problem at low speeds on the days when I dint warmed-up my vehicle in the morning and when the carb tune was low.
My Carb is running 3.00 turns now.

@Augustine:You urge the SVC to get the air-filter changed,they are saving stock in store or doesn't want to buy that from company,but the bike is yours,please see to it.

I agree with you. Our bike is noise free, smooth and cool. So many Gspians are riding it rather than checking forums....Including me to some extent

Yup 280km is lot of distance to cover, you may injure your back if unrested... best to give it to mechanic, but he will rip your bike right bro?

Update : 9th Free Service Completed

Hey Guys,

Got the 9th Free Service done for my GS. Last Week, the West Zone Service AM, Mr. Deepak Saxena had called me from Delhi stating that he is coming to Pune this Week for a scheduled visit and would like to see my Bike for any Issues. Got my Servicing done at the same time.

Things that i told to check were :

- Check if Engine Roughness Issue is present (as i could not feel it).
- Chain getting Loose Issue.
- False Reserve Issue.
- CA Rectifier Change.
- Rusting on Fuel Tank Mouth.

Things done after Service :

- Checked for Engine Roughness and it's not present. It is Normal.
- Changed the SwingArm to a Modified SwingArm under Warranty.
- Told to check Mileage using Full Tank to Full Tank and then report as R-R
Method can be misleading.
- Told that won't be able to fit CA Rectifier as the Wiring Harness is different.
Did not stress a lot as i am satisfied with BA Series after replacing with AA.
- Applied Anti-Rust Coating on the Tank Mouth and told to report back in case
it comes up again.

Observations after Service :

- Engine has become quite smooth after Service.
- Am not feeling that peppiness in the Pickup though. Maybe they have tuned
the Carb for more Mileage.
- When i rotate the Rear Wheel while Bike is on Main Stand, it does not
rotate very freely. Seems as if it is rubbing with something. Also, there is
some kind of minor noise from the Rear when i ride. Is this a Problem and
should i get it fixed or is it OK ? Is the loss of Pickup due to this ?

When he asked which Engine Oil i use, i stated Gulf to which he said they do not recommend any Oil other than SVC recommended Castrol. Even though i stated that it is 20w40.

Overall, the Interaction was quite good. He seemed quite friendly and eager to get the Problems resolved.

Either the chain is too tight, or its possible that the brake shoe is in contact even when you dont press the lever.

What sound are you getting exactly ??

Considering that the R2R method is not very reliable in our bike, is it better for me to keep a full tank of petrol to check mileage considering the following factors:

I ride around 20kms a day,
And per month it comes up to around 550kms on average.
And i dont know how safe it will be to give my bike for servicing with a full tank of fuel too, they might be tempted to steal some fuel !!
(usually after giving my bike for servicing, i find around 300ml of fuel missing, calculated with the mileage i get immediately after service)

And every time I've filled more than Rs 300 of petrol, my mileage has been lesser than usual (may be due to evaporation),
For example,
when i fill 200, i get around 50-52.
When i fill 350 (for the shell car) i got 46-47, checked twice
I filled 500 once, got 33 !!!!

Also, If i fill full tank, my bike would take about one and a half months to come to reserve

So with all this in mind, should i try filling full tank to calculate the mileage, or should i just stick to the usual filling 200 bucks.

I am getting a Squeaking kind of sound. Kinda similar to how a Rat makes Noise.

The culprit may be swing arm or some mess in back break shoe or rear shock abs because i dont thing the chain will cause such noise as it doesn't have rubber or rubber like parts

Got the bike from Castrol GOLD (395 Rs. )service last week..Changed the engine oil from that 'Bad for GS' motul 5100 15w50 semi syn to castrol power1 15w40 semi syn AUTHENTIC (290 Rs. ).
covered 200kms ..The oil is good so far.. Still the bike feels and behaves different after engine heating up with engine noise increasing drastically and pick up going bad.
I asked about the engine tappet noise at castrol bike zzone and asked him to correct it. He's very experienced fellow. He said it cannot be corrected.. its inherent nature of this engine. But he also said except this noise, nothing problem with the engine.
Overall good service..

Please suggest a good synthetic oil for next change maybe after 2k kms.. I narrowed down on motul 300v 10w40 900 Rs.. Shell is not available nearby..

Does anyone know where to get shell in Hyderabad?
wat about semi-synthetic or synthetic oil from mobil that is good for GS?

The store guy here had a fully syn mobil1 5w40.. Is it suggested for GS?

heard from someone that mobil okay for GS

Got the Issue fixed today morning at the Suzuki SVC. The Mechanic checked that the Rear Tire is not rotating freely and took the Bike in the Workshop and made some adjustments to the Chain. Now, the Wheel rotates freely and there is no noise as well. He told that it was because of the Fat Michelin M45 Tire, even though i told him that it is of the same stock Specification. But it does look fatter than the stock MRF Zapper.
