Nine months back I bought this gs monster kid in the block.

Now I felt its one of the best decision taken in choosing.

    You know why?
Its because before purchase I am sure of what I need and what gs has and the important factor is I never looked back after I decided to go for gs150r

The name GS150R can be toned down to GSR,just like GSX1000R can be toned down to GSXR......its like that only,

Now I hope you know what the GSR lineage means........
It means the powerful street monster Suzuki Bking which actually is GS1300R.
It means the one called GSR600 also known as the mini Bking.........the first one of the concept.

The name GS150R is more than an apt name for this good a bike..........it leaves and bypasses every expectations that it was made to deliver.

It also surges ahead of its archrival Unicorn by leaps and bounds.......due to its all-rounder character.

Suzuki's main purpose behind creating the smallest GSR was to give the CB Unicorn the competition of international levels and it has done it.........it is a success.

Now what the thing is that the GSR owners are slowly increasing in numbers, people who are getting their hands on this bike once, sees no reason in not buying it.I only hope now,Suzuki increases its portfolio of performance machines.................and to open a Shop in all metropolitan cities.

I stay in Kolkata but I have no Suzuki retail here,I get the bikes from a trusted sub-dealer who reserves the right to servicing Suzuki vehicles and has parts in store perenially along with the authorised state of art SVC..........So I lack nothing.
But very much miss the privilege of getting my bike serviced at the Suzuki outlet, and to sit in AC and savour the looks of glorious Superbikes like Hayabusa,Bandit,GSX1000R and Intruder alongside GS150Rs..............all other companies in my city like Honda and Yamaha and Kawasaki(bajaj probiking) provides the privilege to their purchasers...........I miss it

      • Unicorn name was given because of it mono shocks (mono = uni).

I was not aware of this.
I liked the unicorn name because it represented a mystical & rare creature which is envied by other creatures & desired by all human beings. Hence thought our GSR suits the name best.
          Thanks for the info

            • 3rd servicing....

              Hi All,
My GS completed 3rd servicing on last weekend.
I done the servicing from new Suzuki servicing center at my place.
What a gr8 servicing i must tell you this. really a nice experience.
And really dramatic changes in my bike.
The Problems i told to SVC.
              1- rare and front breaking
2- oiling and greassing to all parts where needed
              3- engine smoothness
              4- gear shifting
              5- indicator lights
              6- chain cleaning
7- carb tuning accoring to mach da on 3.25 turns

After servicing i used bike for a week and really feel the buy really done his work very honestly..
i can feel the bike is very smooth now; i never felt such smoothness before.
Gear shifting is like no pain at all.
he mentioned that the chain cover and chain was to dirty it took most of the time to clean. due to rain there were lots of mud on that.
other minor things he taken care very wel.
now my milage is 61km/ltr and happy with it i drive at spped of 60-90km/hr
basically i am very satisfied with GS and now with service also..
from now onwards i'll do all the servicing from that SVC guy only.

And about the bike smoothness it's changed dramatically as today when i started my bike waiting for 2-3 min. to warm the engine.
meanwhile my friend came on his bike HERO HONDA CBZ and saying why you are parking your bike inbetween.. i said bike is on he surprised and said IS IT? then why no noise man.. i said it's SUZUKI dude.

and while driving on highway it i can feel the noise of other vehical but no noise from GS..
that's it the updarte after 3rd service a week observation.
Now proud to be a GS owner...

              cheers,
              Kiran...

Those negative aspects aren't there in all gs may be few as even six sigma standard is 99.9996. Not 100 %

Moreover everything has its own drawbacks

Those discussed issues are not in 2010 model gs150r

Hope I confused you to the core enjoy riding Gs with helmet

                    • Hey all, after removing the full chain cover and replacing it with the naked chain cover(like in fz) in my gs, i feel the bike's running really smooth due to the soundless chain. before when i had the full chain cover it really made annoying noises even if the chain was only a little bit loose...and because the place where i live is pretty clean(not much mud around) i dont think it affects my sprockets and chain much..does it guys??
And btw i still didnt learn how to post a complete image here so i've posted a link here if u want to see how i've installed the naked chain cover...sorry guys.

p.s. this chain cover is from the gladiator ss.
