Problem using HID..
Can anyone tell me how to increase the battery performance...while HID is installed....I take all the care so that the battery does'nt drain but last night while returning home my bike turned off at a signal and HID was also on....I did a a big mistake by pressing the self start....all the lights turned off even the digital speedo was'nt working...
Today morning i started the bike using kick....and finally the speedo was on...but no improvement in self start...
The problem is i cannot take my bike to SC..as they will tell that you have violated the warranty....
Does HID drain the battery soon...???? What can be done...???? Guys please help me....

Bike Mods for GS..for Hyd guys..
hi all..
By the way, i also own the 2010 GS model with 2 accidents so far
(still recovering from 2nd one
)
so far covered 4k.. gonna change to motul semi syn this weekend..mineral oil sucks badly in ma bike(currently running on moto4gold elf 20w40.. its good but not for long
)
By the way, i was thinking of changing the GS doom to FZ.. but suddenly 2 days back, i saw a guy here in hyderabad who has remodelled his p150 with R15
fairing.. it costed him 15k
..
Adress:
Irfan, ph: 9391331112
Zoom creations,
near water tank, ramkoti
Hyderabad.
here all kinds of bike mods are done it seems.. gonna visit him this weekend(if i recover soon
) or next weekend and also buy the motul semi syn oil there when i go.. I was thinking of doing some mods to fairing (lik zma,r15 to seperate fairing from handle bar and reduce its weight of the handle to make it easier to handl in traffic though it increases the overall weight)cause i feel the handle bar of gs is very heavy and not properly balanced(as said by many it has a tendency to drag me right) and its very difficut to ride in this worst traffic of hyd tat too with a pillion especially.. so luckily i met this guy and got the address..
So wat do you think guys.. cause handling esp balanced feel is definitely not there in GS esp. in traffic.. i even loosened the racer cone of handle bar(a big screw bet 4 screws).. the handle is loose but heavy and not giving balanced feel.. so gonna do some mods to fit R15 or atleast fazer fairing to GS to make it more easy handler

Dude how well will it go to tune in the carb against the factory settings. Coz I saw some of the posts I too would like to tune in my carb but not at the cost of loosing something..You know what I meant...!! Coz this is not our desi bike & I don't want any local mechanic to do some experiments on my bike if something goes wrong. I expect the engine to behave smoothly with free acceleration & would like to retain the mileage of 55 within the city limit. I also need some suggestion with respect to increasing the pickup of the bike. It is good at high revs but initially it sucks. I know the kerb weight plays a major role but still at the end of the day it is the same old power that strives hard to achieve a 0-60 mark in a very short time. Will be waiting for the valuable suggestions...
Forget to mention, mine is the first version of GS..." If you ride like there's no tomorrow, there won't be !!! "

well to be true no matter what small issues i have faced i think choosing GS was the right decision contrary to so many of my friends going blah blah and telling me 'yaar yeh kanhi dikti nahi hey toh bakwas hogi'
hope everyone understands hindi
if not then here is eng translation can't see GS on roads it must be a bad bike lol.
Any way thanks for advice will go for motul this time around but akfara the knocking sound has reduced for me i think SVC guys are idiots they don't know how to adjust tappet that is why it is coming back.
For those who are thinking about buying GS definite thumbs up from me.
p.s my buying decision even anup had a hand in it gave me good info so thanks to him as well
Yeah! I know, even my frenz told dont go for suzuki! Why wont I???( I speak Hindi and urdu but cant read/write)
*Good service(In Chennai)
*Great mileage
*Stylish Looks
*Aggressive digital console
*Smooth as butter
*and 2010 best bike of the year(by ndtv profit) for upto 160cc, thus beating RTR too.
*Quality build
*Good maintainability
What more can a guy ask for in his bike???
I guess our frenz have no idea that we really know about this bike after seeing reviews and owner experiences.
The marketing of suzuki is on weaker side, so they say so which I dont blame

I dont know what Arish meant by rash driving, I think he mentioned about zig-zag driving and maneuverability. I agree to him its difficult compared to FZ and Uni, but its only a matter of time. The bike gives great feel of confidence even in high speeds. It may take a little time to get used to the short gear system, dont haste take your time to know the bike.Originally posted by sameershiraj View PostNo Iam not a rash driver. PS: Use multiple quotes while giving reply to many. You have a PMFirst of all the GS have plain old Carburetor with some kind of feedback to improve fuel efficiency. Tuning the Carburetor is no big issue as long as one know what he is doing. An experienced local mechanic can tune the Carburetor very well. I had done some drag with Unicorns, CBZ's and FZ, after 3rd gear its all up to the skill of driver, its anyone's bet. GS will never disappoint youOriginally posted by rskk89 View PostDude how well will it go to tune in the carb against the factory settings. Rainy Ride:
Guys, yesterday (22-Aug) evening I started back from vellore to chennai at around 2:45 pm (with my cousin) on my GS... It started raining at 3:00 pm.. I scrambled below a flyover at Walajah put on my raincoat... Had a thought of gettin back home a start some time when rain subsides... Thoughts of rain all over TN lingered my mind as my cousin encouraged me to move on... Then the posts of GS doing gr8 in rains by our friend Animeher came to my mind and I started off..... From then on... Till I reached Madhya Kailash(a junction in heart of chennai) it was pouring rain..... and my GS had no problems with the rain...

.... Its indeed a gr8 tourer... I maintained 5.5Krpm (75 Kmph) on highway since I heard the stock tyres were not good in wet roads... I had no problem yesterday but had a fear about the grip at critical times. So did not dare to take chances.
I'm running on Motul 20W40 mineral oil... doing great till now... should have completed 500 kms in this oil.... I'll try to go for Motul Semi Synth next time.... I have shared about tuning already... I have set it at 4 turns Anti clockwise... Have a slight feeling that I'm running on a more richer mixture... Will have to repeat the tuning process to around 3.5 turns....

WoW, you guys are really lucky to have good roads to think about touring in rainy season. In my place(Kerala) its an absolute unthinkable, even in the daylight its all upto the skill of driver to spot the poth holes. One thing is sure the riding skill will definitely improveOriginally posted by Augustine09 View PostRainy Ride:

Riding GS near to 6K mark is a pleasure, it has best throttle response from 5-7K. And once we close the visor, we will feel like doing some 50 Km or so even if we are doing 80. No vibrations and it will run happily for ever. About the grip part, while riding with pillion there will be more grip so it wont be a problem. Since our GS has rear drum brakes, we can apply brakes with confidence and it wont lock up.Its indeed a gr8 tourer... If you doubt so, tune it asap, running on rich mixture will lead to carbon deposit on the piston head and carbonization of spark plugsHave a slight feeling that I'm running on a more richer mixture... Will have to repeat the tuning process to around 3.5 turns

I have friends in Kolkata who rides P180 and P220 with R15 fairing unit. Its easy to plonk it and makes good fit.But the fairing seems low when the total body geometry is considered. But you have to buy a R15 fairing unit along with its head set for that !!! So that makes it costly.Originally posted by Saru44 View Posthi all..

Works well for me,factory settings of the showroom condition GSR will fry my valve trains if I keep them even after the run-in is over.Originally posted by rskk89 View PostDude how well will it go to tune in the carb against the factory settings.
Something that Suzuki has got is called XTP-Xtra Torquey Performance on the GS150R is meant for the sudden kick in the gut torque coming from 3500rpms to 6000rpms,and from 7000rpm to 10000rpm its the bhp that makes it go 65-100kmph faster than the Pulsar220F.So its not the same old power-its the 13.8Nm earth shattering torque absent on the Unicorn,Xtreme,RTR,Hunk,Pulsar..........that propels this mini-enfield in the 0-60,with its humongous 149kg weight.Personally what I feel, that if anyone goes only for the KN,the low-end would increase. The Pilot jet of its carb is useless compared to its weight.Originally posted by rskk89 View PostIt is good at high revs but initially it sucks. 'but its only a matter of time'-I totally agree with you.............GSR makes the best Streetfighter if one gets a hold of its weight and torque range.Even pro-riders in my group agrees with the fact that it will fry FZ,P150,Unicorn,RTR and then eat it,and digest it and then squat and drop the remains of those somewhere, when it comes to Streetfight..........given the fact that its being ridden by the likes of them or me
No wonder,I do 80-90kmph in a sub-45kmph zones in peak traffic hours, when I feel I am getting late for my scheduled work
or when I feel, someone wants to smoke my spanking Love.I feel sorry for them, when they come looking for me and finds me enjoying a chai at the roadside stop, while they are trying very hard to catch up with me on their fat tyres, light weight mean looking machines or highly vibrating machines or ultra refined monoshock machines
The torque of GSR is absent on any 150cc Bike, except the FZ.But FZ is a slow motor........so its not a RX100.

your battery is bound to discharge as the charging rate is not adequate. See hid draws like 9 amp at startup and settles for 3 amp after few seconds. So although our bike has a strong battery, the charging is not good. If you want peace of mind, go for coil rewinding and convert the electrics to dc and then change the rr unit to ape 3 wheeler one. Untill then its better for the health of the battery to remove the hid. Also when you visit sc remove the hid and tell them that the battery is discharged somehow. They will charge it. Or you can go to a battery shop to recharge it for minimal charge.
