Guys today I traveled for a short distance of 180kms. During my exotic journey I reached 102kmph (only 1's) in my GS ..I was really surprised by its incredible character. No vibes even at that speed made me really go crazy about it . But one thing I noticed through out my journey was at some stage it was jerking (as if sucking more petrol) . More precisely I felt like it was falling to reserve. But it wasn't... I don't know why it behaved like that. Can anybody explain me what was wrong with that ??

By the way there's some kind of irritating sound coming from the front shox & as well as from the visor. Is it common or it needs to be investigated once in sc???

And also guys am planning to do some cosmetic stickers to my bike..Can any one tell me which will be the decent cosmetics?? If possible pls post some img'es...(As m a professional I need some decent pics)

Get your main jet of the carb checked by the SVC.........tell them lack of power at high rev ranges.
Front shox requires oiling, visor needs tightening......
Thats all the works for youe bike.See what the SVC gets.

This was called choking....Me too have this reserve feel sometimes....Asked many times abt it, even if u go back old pages ,there is so many question regarding..So not only you, Many find choking in bikes...It is yet to get answer by SC....
The sound from fork comes if the cone razer is loose ,The mech will loose 4 bolts on the handle then adjust the main big bolt..
If this is not ur case then they will change oil from fork....

          • Got 64.3 Kmpl!

Guys Gs made me proud and happy one more time!....Fuel screw set at 2.5 turns, followed tuning method, anything below 2.5 the engine did not have smooth idle, above 2.5 turns there was not much significant increase in engine rpm, so I guess 2.5 is just enough for stress free idling and good throttle response..above 3.5 the engine would not rev back to idling when throttle is closed from high engine revs (takes more time to come back, not good for engine braking or while decelerating).

Post reserve reset trip and drove till around 70 kms when last bar starts blinking..filled 100 rs of fuel and viola it went on and on until exactly 110 km on trip meter and stopped.
100 rs = 110 kms! Really amazing, 50% city and 50% ring road.

            58.20 per liter 1.71 liters = 110 kms..64.3 kmpl!

I love Gs150r! Drives me crazy!!!

            • Oil Change

Thats enviable figures Mr. Ragunandan. Today I happened to see carb tuning of Passion Pro. The Mechanic did tuning within half a minute. He increased the idling till it was revving high(around 5K). Then closed the air-fuel screw to minimum and slowly opened the screw till engine revved to the maximum. The most interesting thing I noticed is that since the engine is revving high even a slightest adjustment in the air-fuel screw instantly reflects in the increase or decrease in the engine rpm. Hence its much more easier to find the optimum spot. And mechanic then lowered the idle rpm to 1000 and let it there to idle.

Guys a small update from me, today i changed oil to Motul 3000T 4T Plus. Did a few Km ride to notice the changes. Within a few meters I could feel the reduced engine braking in the first two gears and also the clutch lever has gotten a little soft. I felt it strange to notice that even the engine sound while idling has gotten sweet. I hope engine to be like this for eternity.

                      • Hi,
I have a mileage can (got it from a friend),
Can anyone tell me how to remove the fuel pipe from the carb ?? there's a protective ring, i could easily remove that with a cutting pliers. But then that pipe just doesnt move, i didnt try too hard coz the whole carb was shaking when i pulled little hard. is there any technique to pull that pipe out easily ?

I'm getting R2R mileage of 49 with shell but i've revved a lot too..
I made the mixture little rich from 2.25 to 3 turns yesterday, so i'm eager to check mileage with can

And will that pipe get loose if i keep pulling it out to check mileage ?? i think the mechanics at the SC have pulled it out atleast 3-4 times before for connecting the can. how much would a new fuel pipe cost if this gets spoilt ?

@rskk89: buddy that happens to me also. Are you trying to shift from neutral to 1st when the bike is off ?
Never shift gears when bike is off, i noticed its always problematic.

But as a solution, move your bike a little front or back if it gets stuck in neutral. the teeth will get aligned and it'll shift better..

I used to hold the protective ring [on its releasing edge ] with the cutting pillar on one hand and remove it and plugged it back hold the protective ring and move it towards the old place and release the cutting pillar

i used to do it everytime before taking it to SVC

                          • @ Falcon

Go for a long drive buddy, why doing such tests. Yeah its true that testing mileage that way is more accurate. Also 49 Km with lot of revving is a decent one . Now that I have started to rev more than I used to, I have noticed increased tappeting noise. I guess its time to adjust clearance of valves

                            • Hi guys, I just did my fifth servicing a few days back. Changed oil to gulf again. The old oil was still maroon in colour and viscousity was good too. Also checked my carb and was surprised to see that the knob locked at 5 clockwise revolutions. It means the carb was set for rich mixture, right mach50? Then I set it to 3.75 revolutions from lock. Lets see how it goes. Also my self does not work sometimes. If I try again it works. The sc had no idea (as expected). I said i need a replacement. They said they would get back to me soon. By the way clocked 9623 kms till now. Raj
