  • Thank you very much MACHO..
just now i have tuned carb
    results are greatttt.
this is how i did it
    1-rode bike for 2-3 km
2-parked it. raised idling to 3000RPM stable
3-turned fuel screw clockwise until it reached end position. At that instance idling had came down to 1500RPM.
4-then lowered the idling till 1000RPM n engine was about to stall
5-Turned fuel screw 4 anticlockwise rotations, RPM came up to 1400RPM.
6-then ran that test-raised RPM upto 6500RPM n freed the throttle idling came to 1500RPM, repeated this 2-3 times. result was same
7-on central stand only, Engaged all the gears from 1-6. In all geared positions RPM was around 1200-1300RPM with stable firing sound.
8-THIS WAS MAIN PART FOR ME-took the bike for a drive, rode 12km and when i parked the bike BINGGGOOOOO idling was 1500RPM ...
Thanks MACHO bro provided greattt guide

    • Mihar,do we need to keep the bike alive in the entire process of tuning or swithch on and off in between raising idle and fuel screw.

      • hi

hi, today i went to shell petrol bunk to fill petrol.. i filled for Rs 500. Rs. 59.99 / l they gave one yellow cloth for free as i filled for RS 500. and i asked about the price of full synthetic oil. he told there are two variety one is Rs 750 and another is Rs 1050. can any one tell me which is gud and worthy to buy. and i asked about oil filter change. he replied there is no oil filter for bike????

so if i want to change the full synthetic oil in shell. how do i change the oil filter as they have no idea about oil filter in bike.

and i plan to upgrade my head light. here some guys talked about HID. so plz tell me whats that. whats the price of it and am i want to do any electrification work in my bike? if i change to HID what about the positioner light?

plz reply me in detail. as i have very poor knowledge in this. thks

AFAIK Shell has only 1 Fully Synth oil for motorcycles - Shell Advance Ultra. I bought it for INR745. The other one may be their Helix range of car oil. Have been using shell advance ultra for the last 3000kms. Excellent oil - engine revs happily with lesser vibes, and gearbox is smooth. It does take a little time to settle in - maybe 500-700kms. Am very satisfied with the effect on both engine and gearbox, and plan to continue using the same going forward. Its drain period is 9000kms.

You will need to buy oil filter for INR35 from your suzuki service centre.

I have disconnected my pilot lamps and using Osram silverstar 55/60W halogen (cost INR210). brightness much better than stock lamp, and satisfactory for the time being. For HID you can refer to the universal thread on Light in xbhp. Also, animeher has had HID done for his gs.

plz reply me in detail. as i have very poor knowledge in this. thks
          responses in bold.

recently previous saturday did an ass breaking "one and a half day trip " greater noida- delhi -dehradun-mussourie-delhi-greater noida"

..,a total of 679 kms, it was simply amazing ..we had a total 0f 5 bikes and 9 dudes.. i drove solo throughout..so as to enjoy the gsr's ride in the highways & hills mostly...

Inetresting to say only mine 'gsr' was the odd man out ,rest being pulsars 180 and 150 "i hate pulSars" ,
,i was amazed to see the traction of the gsr's mill on steep hair pin climbs of dehra dun - shimla road" man, these climbs are really steep gsr could climb easily in fourth gear at 30-35 kmph comfortably at 4.5 k rpm,, .. scenery was breath taking , clocked 114 kmph on flat roads competing with 180's often giving them a dash ..,gsr is a gem in high speed runs and in straight line braking too esp."in harsh conditions" the front disc does the job really well ... && a must to say the grip of the tyres waz superb , to be told ,that it was a throughout wet slippery tarmac with constant drrizzles being encountered on hills and some areas in meerut-roorkee high way too.

We descended from mussourie's hair pin bend slopes ,after evening light .. to my notice gsr's lights 'mine with ca series rr' are arn't bad, they are at par with 180's headlights...though, all of them seemed insufficient ,thanks to 1 HID soul in our group on his pulsar 150 ..he did the job well, being first one in the row of 6 bikers to guide us through deadly blind curves in darkness .. "HID IS simply AMAZING".i suerly will for HID once the warranty period gets over. && at last but not the least gsr gave an outstanding fuel eff. figure, amongst all of the bikes .. i refuelled only once "a full tank" whereas my frnd's did fill 10 litres more than me ,my friends showing signs of jealousy, uttering " saala kitna average deti hai yaar ,,hadd ho gyi "
53 kmpl "approx as per my calculations" kmpl ,, inspite of full throttle pinning ,often on empty stretches and 65-75 kmph speed reguraly .

Both are minerals, but the Motul 3000 4T Plus is better.

You need to keep the engine running or keep the bike alive.

                • My GS150R experience

Hi friends, this is Arish from Pune.Iam new to this blog and this is my third experience iam sharing(first on xbhp). To Start off, My GSR is 4 months old and regularly serviced.Recently i went to solapur (almost 200km from pune) on my GSR that too solo. my bike gave constant pickups till 4th gear, but after 4th the acceleration decreased. I was able to attain 118km/hr as the top speed (I am 5'' 8 and 65 kg in weight).I wish i could get it more but it failed as the engine was roaring to the loudest and the RPM needle was showing 10k(12k of total). I drove the bike at top speed for about 3-4kms.I also recorded the video while placing the cam into my helmet.
My question to all of you is whether GSR is capable of reaching speeds over than 118 ?? if yes then how?? is it possible using some mods?? I've heard that adding K&N filters boosts the acceleration but lacks top end speed. but adding a bigger size jet does the work well.also replacing the sprocket with a less teeth one improves the top speed.
Friends please help me clearing my doubts and correct me if iam wrong in the above lines i've wrote. thanx.

                      so cons,
first of all Headlight n its a major problem other are very minor, sorry but that stock Halonix is crap...i dont know about your height/build but have a test drive first n get exp about height n weight of the bike.
                      Pros
its a All-Aluminium engine which gets warmed up easily n cools down fast..
other advantage of it is it allows higher RPMs max RPM is electronically limited to around 10750 RPM,
High rpm shifting is butter smoooth
dude if u're really disappointed with the stock headlights then u can go for a HID kit. I have fixed it on my GSR and the light emitting out of it is just superb, everyone stares at my bike in the night specially girls with scooty's and pleasures immediately give side for my bikes. The feeling is just awesum.

No that is not metal, but fiberglass I guess, but it does not give you a cheap quality feel, trust me no part of this bike gives a cheap material feel...

thanks varoom, and yes I guess you are right about the time to take snaps....as I said I am no professional infact not even a noob in photography. I know all the technicalities of the camera but lighting, angles and lenses are out of my interest scope, but I guess I will try few snaps in the evening and post them as well.......

congratts Ankur........ did you find any similarity between the points I brought with the new bike you purchased....

well yes bike is heavy and that is the reason you do not develop enough confidence immediately while zipping through the traffic........but once you get used to it there is no problem as the bike is very well balanced.
And about the dealer attitude, believe me I can understand how that feels, I had the similar experience on HH showroom. Just because HH sells...... and loosing one customer might not be that big an issue for the company does not mean you behave like you are doing some favor, I was really pissed by that HH dealer and I made sure before going I make him realize he is not doing any favor by selling me the product.

wow no body told me that, not even the technician there, but strange to know the mode is ???, they could have given it a name "like free mode" or something if that mode exists, I will try that and report.

is that so?????so the light comes even in the power mode....I was told that the light does not come at all in the power mode?? The demo bike I drove also had the power mode and the light was not coming. Anyway I will try that as well but have to wait for my first service (which would be soon as I am almost covering 60-65 Km daily going to and fro to office...with that I should reach 700 in around 11 days and thats when the first service is......)

                        =================================================

Now coming to few more points I noticed while coming to the office today.....but before that......nobody answered me on my this query....I hope people are reading as I am taking efforts to give as much as I can for the next potential buyers......any way what I asked was .... Any Idea

                        Coming to few more points...

Clutch n Ignition :: Tell me people, is it with all the bikes with self start that the clutch has to be pressed before making the ignition through self.......even if it is common, this bike has gone a step further.........for kick start as well you have to press the clutch and then kick (even if the bike is on neutral).......any other bike has this similarity....

Backlit of the Display :: The back light of the display console is always on, is that common, why would the company not give an option to switch the backlit off during day time (logically this would save battery)
Or is there a way to switch it off and I do not know.

any suggestions on the above points...... one more thing.....the gas tank is of huge almost 16 liters capacity and hence the reserve is also huge 3.5 liters.......even with filling the tank with 200 bucks of gas the indicator has only one DOT..... I understand its no big deal but leaves you unsatisfied and gives you an impression that you are running out of gas (you are always on reserve ) where as in real you have enough to commute safely...... its not a disadvantage but just thought to bring this up as well.

                        More Questions/Queries....??

                        Regards
                        Sam

sam....u r getting it wrong ...GSR's tank has a total capacity of 15.5 litres. and the reserve is of 2.5 litres. and the two modes wich r present actually work as there is some electronics fixed to the carburretor...check it urself.
the modes actually control the fuel usage of the bike.

The tank capacity specified is only approximate and some have reported that they have even filled around 20L . And also about the two modes, the matter have been discussed to the core in this thread itself. The Power and Eco modes differ in their ignition timings.

does K&N filters actually increase the acceleration of the bike...???
