I will post a pic soon....but if u go back thru the thread there is a picture posted by someone, that screw is visible near RR unit(on the carburator) with golden color ,but i understood ,it takes time to search atleast 150 pages, So i will do my best to post a good picture.....(after adjusting screw 2nd time now on 4 litre petrol 110km only done showing 2 bars in console)
Oops anup post the picture ,so no need for me to post

Good news is I got CA series RR unit replaced,The Head lamp power difference is acknowledged by mechanic. Its was send by MAIN SC pondy thru courier,,he told me in phone that GS had 4 types of wiring harness, one of the batch had problems may be ur' s is bad , like that(again stories)

If its true how a wiring harness had impact on headlight intensity?
Anyone electrical knowledge should answer the truth

Thank god that nothing major happened to u....
Don't take chances buddy, riding at high speeds won't help u, especially when we have dumb people on roads......
As u mentioned, always used horns and indicators....
Always were helmet too...... Ride really safe n steady.
BTW, i also feel that the bike is been dragged towards the right while applying disk.. Initially, I didn't have such issues...

As usual, they keep telling all kind of stories..... only in spacecrafts, airplanes and huge vehicles complex wiring (which runs several Kilometers) is done, face such issues... GS is only having a little wiring running few meters...
Still the Suzuki people are experimenting with the bike...

For the past 2 times I've been getting milleage of above 50 contrasting to the past 3 months in which I used to get only 43. Hope it would improve better in the future.

Why didnt you try to put the karizma/gladiator/apache engine guards? Those have aerodynamic fins that actually suck more air to the engine and it looks sporty too. As for the mud guard you have installed, it would only block airflow to the engine and the engine will run hotter when u ride say,100km at a stretch and milege will only come down.
The mileage increase u got is for some other reason and not because of the mud guard.

P.S. for gs, 43 is very low milege..is it for city riding or overall?
I used to get 40-45 even when i ripped the bike.

          • My bike is just 400kms old...
am getting very low mileage of 35-40kmpl....
when the bar in the fuel indicator started blinking i filled fuel for 100rs [1.75ltr] and set the trip meter to 0...after 63kms the bar again started blinking.. so i could travel just 63kms for 1.75litres of petrol..63/1.75=36kmpl
am going for my first service next week..hope the problem gets solved...

Are you sure that you have 3.1L* reserve + 1.7L petrol & then all this happened ?

Did you driving style change by any way? The same thing happened to me as well, after 2nd service mileage kept on coming down till I tuned it myself. Idling screw can be found easily, you know where the cable of throttle is connected, rite? You can see find idling screw there(refer your manual if you still dont have any idea).

The marked one is the air/fuel screw.
What happens after the tuning ? Mileage will go up ? O.o

Let me make you aware of the fact that our GS150R,has a huge reserve capacity.........yes thats 3.5 litres,so if you even fill 4 lts or around 210 bucks of Petrol, still it would gonna seem that, mileage is low.As no fuel is there in the main tank. All is there in the reserve

On a new bike always do a tank full fueling for once.
While fueling, turn the fuel cock to of always.
Always keep your bike's fuel cock in on position after the refill.Don't ever keep riding in reserve even after the refill.
As you ride in the fuel on position, you will get to know when the bike is going to reserve,as the bike is gonna splutter and engine would shut down, and then you have to switch to reserve...............Leaving the reserve ride, you know by now what is its real mileage.
Always refill as soon as possible after reserve.Refill the way as I told.
Try this and watch for the mileage now.

                  • I think people might misunderstand the mileage of this bike because they are unaware of reserve capacity of GS150R.

Long back in this thread R to R puzzle we discussed ,since new member joining and unable to read 600Plus pages make old question repeated....
The best thing to check mileage is a 100ml test(genuine) BY SC in a empty roads with proper gear shifting.
Next is Full tank(21ltr's plus) method, for this u have to go a less crowded good Bunk,Bcos the last 2 or 3 ltrs take 5 minutes to come to brim level...
So people behind u loose their patience due to long waiting....
So after full tank do ur regular ride for 200km then fill again in the same good bunk(almost accurate mileage u will get)
Blinking to blinking is wrong method of calculating mileage, the digital fuel guage is not accurate one(after reserve i put 1 litre , the digital show me 4 bar, then came to single bar after riding 5 minutes)

Yes true....Bcos they see manual and read 15.5ltr as full capacity,It is 21 ltr plus if u fill brim level

                        • I only filled my fuel to brim once but few days back i filled up 5.8 ltrs of fuel after my GS was running in Reserve for 35kms so till now i have done 220KMs including the reserve looks like i am heading for less mileage than 45KMPL this time since it is already down to 1bar.Also very important advice @mach,anup and others is it safe to tune carb after 2nd Service?

if u got less mileage after 2nd service it is needed to tune ur carb.....Try anup method by urself(1/2 turn anticolckwise)

Do i need to do the whole process like setting the idle etc or just rotating the fuel screw or gold screw is enough?Since i just want to get the mileage up a bit since i am driving 90% in highways so i am expecting atleast 50 mileage.

last time i calculated mileage as follows i had done 35kms on reserve after that 3.88 ltrs of fuel and total distance i could travel was 220kms so mileage comes around 220-35 = 45kmpl something.that is the right method right?
