last time i calculated mileage as follows i had done 35kms on reserve after that 3.88 ltrs of fuel and total distance i could travel was 220kms so mileage comes around 220-35 = 45kmpl something.that is the right method right?
adi ur wrong ,220/3.88= 56kmpl,u have to set the trip to 000 while u get reserve, the 35km is included in 220km u travel,so no need to minus it...
So u getting good mileage yaar
No need to adjust the golden screw...
Guys verify me I am right or not

These speeds are in city. If you want best mileage only, maybe the decision of buying GS was made in hurry! GS's fun lies in its power delivery, so best fun riding while keeping good mileage in city can be obtained using the above speeds.

S and this seems to match with Suzuki's recommended speed range for its cars, (i see it printed on the back of service center bills, and manual)...
        1st gear 10 kph
        2nd gear 20 kph
        3rd gear 30 kph..and so on
they say "pls drive on the above mentioned speeds for corresponding gears to get good fuel economy"
So, may b our Suzuki Gs gear ratios too is similar to their standard they use in their cars..

Any one have a fix for the kreech kreech sound coming from back during the shockabsorber action
I had this problem too...You need to localize the sound first. The shock absorbers connect to the swing arm below and the chassis up top by a rubber bush interface, sometimes due to the characteristics of rubber(shrinkage in cold weather etc) meshing with metal there may be a screeching noise as it rubs on..you could put a few drops of motor oil near the bushes so it circulates in between the interface (action the shox a few times by pushing it), the upper shox bushes could be accessed by removing the seat cover. Also similarly the swing arm too needs to be greased or wet with a small amt of oil. It took 2 plus days for the oil to slowly sink in and noise reduces i used 90 grade gear oil...

Really sad for man, i remember reading up about similar high speed accident some time back and if i remember somebody went in to the drain and fork got damaged etc..Our GS has averaged sized tires to maximize fuel efficiency, it is a clear trade off for performance especially road grip and braking, but it is a very well balanced bike and could be handled brilliantly..you just need to get to know its limits better, just drive around when your are free and clear mind and try some panic braking type manuvers, it is a trick and art but you will get to know what to expect from the bike when u apply brakes, etc..just push and get to know tis limits in a controleld setting

            • Please reply to this message ASAP.

Today while washing the bike, out of curiosity i opened the tank to check if there's any rusting, this is the second tank too, first one was changed due to rust.

But this one seems to have rusted more than the old tank ! quite a bit of rust around the tank mouth area. visible without a torch !

Now my doubt is, does suzuki give warranty of 2 years or only 1 year for rusted parts ?
My bike will be one year in 6 days, so if its only one year i'll have to rush to the service centre immediately.

Also, after this i decided to examine all parts of the bike properly, i found that the top of the chain cover(where the 2 sides of the chain cover meet) there seems to be a thin line of rust all the way from front to back.
And swing arm next to the shock absorbers too(right side)
Battery holder i already reported, and they are waiting for stock to arrive.

Do i wait till next service(atleast a month away) or do i just go and report all these problems tomorrow itself.
              Please reply soon.
(sorry to bring this up again)

              @Adi:
Use a torch(preferably one with white light) and check properly. if its black everywhere uniformly, then its not rust.
rust has a brownish colour. My tank doesnt have the black colour though. may be they've painted the mouth area or something in the newer models.

Check the thread ,previously there is lot queries about R to R method, since some of them are new....
If u set trip to 0 ,when ur bike hit reserve ? then why u minus 35?...This trip meter given for that purpose and other's too
Earliar we have to note down the odo readings when we hit reserve.(RX100)
                    For example u hit reserve at 10450km ,u fill 2ltr after 50km(10500km), u got reserve at 10550 means (10550-10450=100) 100/2 = 50kmpl....
                    what u do is 100-50=50 then 50/2 = 25kmpl that is wrong......
I hope u understand now....And my question is that u asked or i answered for wrong query????

That is strange for sure since it should start blinking when there is 1.5 or less fuel. You should check it out.

@akfara hmm if that is the case let me see this time i set trip to 0 again it ran 35 kms again on reserve then i have filled 5.83 ltrs of fuel and till now it has run 230Kms(not yet reached reserve) but has come down to just 1 Fuel bar

                          • hey guys ..I have neveer ridden GS150R. But i am a big admirer of its design and looks. It looks simple yet yet attractive. Just want to know how does it perform on road? What about the handling, power, FE, etc? And the costs incurred on maintaining...and the problems one can face with bike and Suzuki in general...
                            Thanks.

lolz........admirer without GS......I own it since lassssssst november....performance wise its just awesome........i mean to say with such muscular tank and 150KG weight it feels you are not riding just gliding your way out.........it gives you a feel of riding something mucch bigger........you can get the feel when you are cruising above 100kmph on a highwway and the cars/trucks make way for you......power wise there's a difference due to the modes.......if you want economy then try eco mode......less power but more mileage(around 55-60kmpl)......and if you want raw power then ride in power mode........pick up in power mode is the best than any other bike.....
you'll read many people telling that GS has low pickup.....but let me tell you one thing it beats even R15 in a 200m drag(this is verified by me)
for top speed i touched 126kmph for a fraction of minute...and its still rock stable......unlike uni, pulsar, apache etc this one doesn't change lanes due to CROSSWINDS.....fuel economy for me is around 55-57kmpl within city....no highway use......handling is bit tougher for guys with less height due to the weight.....the only problem i face is the Headlight....it does not provide ample beam.....(using HID this can be rectified)........another problem is lack of service centres......but there wont be problems in big cities.......overall i give 4.5/5 for GS150R........have a test ride and i am sure it'll drive you crazy!!!!!!!!

Well enfro i say you give it a test ride and you will not regret your decision no matter what. For maintenance part very good in my 2nd service i have spent Rs0 on my Service since i already had changed my oil so i would say very low. FE if you do see the talks around is a mixed bag since you will be so glued to the bike that you will like to drive beyond 60km/h most of the time since it is when the bike is like the peak so smooth.

the problem i have faced is knocking sound from engine which was reduced by tappet adjustment but still a bit of noise is prevalent.Any way it is very silent believe me even with the knocking sound. But as you do more KMs it will become more smooth.
The Switch quality is top notch believe me best in its class.
Low end power is awesome and 6th gear can't ignore that, handling well it does not have a very small radius since this bike is big but you may feel the weight on very low speeds while turning.

That is my full review of the bike after owning it for 3 months and having done almost 5k kms.

And any more info feel free to ask and since you are in Delhi i will tell to check out Bitoo or Gayatri suzuki if you are in east delhi.
