you had set your fuel screw to 2.75 turns..thats why i told you that
at that pt, i didnt knew that on older GSR approx optimum pt is different.

    • My carb golden screw is set to 3.25
IDLE on warm engine is 1500 RPM
IDLE on cold start time is 1100 to 1300 RPM

Checked mileage with 1.70 ltr petrol reached 95 kms on tripmeter
So the calculation is 95/ 1.70 = 55.88 kms per ltr

      Happy with it

        • wow wheelie on GS never imagined someone will actually pull that due to its weight but kudos to Mach bhai awesome from giving us mileage tricks to doing stunts.it is just awesome to see the video. But next time do wear some protective gear.

p.s my ques still unanswered how is the motul 3000t plus oil in comparison with gulf and can i turn the carb 1/2 turn anticlockwise without going through whole process?

          • Thanks buddies for appreciating the stunts
Yes,it requires a lot of cold-blood and some nerve to pull those on a bike like GS.Because for its weight, its underpowered
But yes techniques can impart stunts to it,though once in the rev range,my bike accelerates so hard.....that it could have had the wheelies go wrong. It requires some real guts and cold calculations to control the sudden surge in the mid range.Because the GS lacks in low range relative to its weight, which makes the low rpm wheelies a no no,but as soon the rev is over 3500rpm,acceleration gushes in such a way that if one doesn't let go off the throttle he would be in for a spectacular vault and crash .So it was very difficult to keep the wheelie on,as soon as the throttle was lowered, the bike dropped with a huge inertia ,can hurt the balls if one is not mindful
The stoppies need to be equally calculative, the soft bite of the GSR brakes doesnt makes a cut for wonderful stoppies, most of the time,it drags the bike, eating out the momentum. The front brake really needs to be pressed in a most reckless and sudden way, with some amount of weight shifting on the tank as well as pumping the handlebars.
Never mind I emptied A bottle of water and two bottles of cold drinks after this and also emptied my bladder too

As per the riding gear goes, thanks for the advise and concern
I dont have any gears other than Helmet and gloves.Gloves cannot be worn as they felt uneasy for stunts, but gotta make a habit from now on.
I would also be buying, elbow guard, knee guard, shoulder guard along with arm sheild, leg sheild and chest guard soon,as my Shogun dragster is getting ready too

            • Hi all! This is a really useful forum! May I know who are the GS150R vs 2010 users here?

              • Good stunts MACH50 But please wear protective gear. Buy a jacket from ebay.com, shipped through iccworld.com It will cost you some 2500-3000rs for very good jacket. This depend on your bargain hunting capacity! Don't bother with local stuff.

                    Thanks Anup!

Nice to hear! I test drove it on Friday. Today I went to a well known showroom to discuss about this beauty. It costs 69,300 on road (in Chennai).
I will book it on saturday and get it in less than 5 days. Planning to go with Grey cos black resembles pulsar.

Any rusting issues or knocking sound issues in 2010 bikes???

Welcome to GSpian community friend. Its my pleasure to help others make a decision. You have made a good decision. So far there hasn't been single report of rusting and knocking from 2010 users. The knocking was only due to poor carburetor tuning.

Motul is better than gulf for GS point of view......me too the tappet noise returned again......
U can turn 1/2 turn and do trial and error method....if anyting wrong u can go back to old setting......But i did that 1/2 turn only once i got 53kmpl then back to 49kmpl to 48kmpl.....But i keep in the same setting to check again...but only that mach50 method is right to get good efficiency...but with 2000RPM as K.S ragunathan told

                          • Hi,
Something seems to have gone wrong with my carb tuning..
I've set it to 3 turns,
But now everytime i turn the bike on with self start, the rpm goes from 0 to 1000, stays there for about 2-3 seconds, and then slowly increases to the normal idling point which i set as 1500. This happens even when when the engine is heated..
And sometimes at signals the self start turns the bike on, it idles at 800 rpm and then it turns off immediately when i try to accelerate a little bit..

What is causing this problem ? i've set the carb to little rich mixture than what it was at all this time.
(i adjusted the carb fuel screw on sunday, rode only for about 2kms after tuning, there was no problem, even today for the first 5-6kms there was no problem, but after that this problem started !)

well we are the 2010 GS owners but only one things matters for all of us our lovely GS.

well to be true no matter what small issues i have faced i think choosing GS was the right decision contrary to so many of my friends going blah blah and telling me 'yaar yeh kanhi dikti nahi hey toh bakwas hogi'

hope everyone understands hindi if not then here is eng translation can't see GS on roads it must be a bad bike lol.

Any way thanks for advice will go for motul this time around but akfara the knocking sound has reduced for me i think SVC guys are idiots they don't know how to adjust tappet that is why it is coming back.

For those who are thinking about buying GS definite thumbs up from me.

p.s my buying decision even anup had a hand in it gave me good info so thanks to him as well

Thanks buddy, like you said GS charmed me with her ride quality and wanted to share the info with others.

I'm running on Motul 3000T 4T Plus for around 200 Km now, so far its looking good. Castrol Activ 4T was no good after 750 Km when I drained it had almost run 1500. Oil was pitch black but it had some viscosity than S.C oil. I think 2K is limit for a mineral oil
