Dont worry about those complaints..they are minor and most of them are not present in 2010 models...btw where do you stay in bangalore?
i got my bike from K.H.Road suzuki....near richmond circle....
    service is quite good..

    • Hey ppl, here goes my first post in this forum
I have been a silent observer of this gs150r ownership thread for the past 5 months or so.

In fact, this thread influenced me to buy Gs150r. Loving the bike, clearly the best 150 cc that I've driven . Already done 4k km's in it.

Tomorrow I'll be leaving my bike for the 3rd service. I've 2 queries though,

      * my bike has a BA rectifier thingy, can I ask for a free replacement for the new CA series or should. I have to pay for it?.

      * Please suggest the best Engine oil for me, I want super smooth riding, nothing else is my priority. I do about 100 km's in highways daily, so I want the best possible oil for relaxed smooth riding.

      Thanks in advance.

      Best Regards,

First welcome to the Gspians world well no extra money you need to pay for the replacement just post that you need a CA rectifier since the BA is not providing enough power they will change it. I am asking you to post in suzuki website because it will make things faster else you could always contact the dealer if you have good going with the SVC guys. Also regarding engine oil you can try gulf and Motul 3000T Plus 20w40 i have used gulf till 2.5k kms it was good now it has lost its color and i will be trying motul as some of the guys have used it and have told it is good.

At least gulf was better than Castrol for sure.Well i myself do about 70+ Kms daily the ride comfort is awesome when i hit the expressway and regarding some talked about not so good Stock tires i actually didn't face any issue since it was heavy downpour for past week in Delhi and 1 week i have driven in insane rain and the Grip was very good no issues.

There's a shop at JC road siddaiah road junction called "bike accessories world".
(its at the corner itself, below a video AD board, easily noticeable)
Thats the only place i'm aware of right now, dont know how the cost would be though.
(didnt get a chance to go in and ask as parking is a big headache in that area)

But i dont know when i'll be getting them and fixing it, i wanted to get the rectifier changed from BA to CA series first so they dont start irritating by saying battery got drained because i modified pilot lamps etc etc.

If you are buying anytime soon then let me know, even i'll get a pair and keep it in stock till i change it.

It's really heavy rain in Mumbai...
Just wanted to put a update as i clocked 107 mark on GS for first time..
the total run i of bike till date is 4200 Km...
i was riding the bike in Eco mode.. next time i will try to touch the top spped using Pwr mode.. lets see how it feels...
But i can say 1 thing there are absolute no vibes in GS at high spped and bike remain steady and calm..
I love ma GS more and more these days..

            Cheers,

              • Finally the day has arrived !!!

                Congrats for your new ride.
The break-in procedures are mentioned in bike's manual itself(Read it carefully). Its not just the speed, you have to keep the engine rpm within 6000 rpm for the first 800 kms and within 8000 rpm for the next 800 kms. The engine rpm should be varied, don't ride bike in higher gears in low rpm. This may lead to engine glazing. For the best coupling of engine components give occasional bursts of speed when engine get warm.

The first service is very important, I would suggest you to change the oil as soon as possible(around 500 Km). On cold starts(morning) always use kicker. Drive bike slowly for first 2-3 kms till the engine get warm and keep the rpm between 4-4.5K. This will improve the fuel efficiency. If you have any doubt feel free to ask.

                Ride Safe.........

CAn I get some tips from matured users
The below tips from my end and am not a politician to declar myself as matured user ( I was using bike since 19 yrs)

                  * make sure what's on odo (kms should below 50 is good and with in two digit is acceptable at the max) also ensure to get the bike from godown not the stock one at the showroom showcase.

                  * I don't need to tell but you will certainly check for the scratches

                  * make sure to do a test half kms drive with the SVC enginer before taking home.

                  * during the drive check odo reading is going well and all are okey

                  * the rusting issue is no more in 2010 models but am sure you will check that too by opening the petrol tank lid for a close survey ( I know you already prepared a pentorch for it)

                  * ensure how many days it will take for the paper works completion ( RC.... Etc....)

                  * in the happiness don't feed you GS with 10 or 15 ltr petrol as it increase the weight and you are new so handling is bit tough.

Manual is the complete horoscope of your bike so first read it thru before starting life with GS

                  * check your bike RR unit it should be a CA model (telling this coz someone may took the regulator to replace the existing BA regulator customer) this sounds bit too much but dealers tend to do that

                  * make sure all electricals (lights, horn etc.... ) Are okay

                  * If you are buying from chennai SMK suzuki then ask for mr.kalyan he will
                  help you.

Last don't expect too much (in terms of mileage / speed) from your new bike at the starting itself.

Welcome to our community and best of luck

Do post your bike picture with the bridegroom dress (I am refering the mala, kumkum, yellow water droplets, lemon scarifice etc....

@ falcon ill try than in september mid and let you know

lol what a start MSN any way sameer as usual read the manual and keep all things that MSN said might be possible next time around MSN will be asking for votes so be in good books of MSN

Any way intially you may have hard gears don't bother about them they are usual with everyone they will be good after 1st service don't go for top speeds now will hurt your engine in long run. Before taking the bike just get hold of the SVC guy and give a 100 bucks believe me this will help you out later. And Lastly buy a good lid if you don't have one and Ride safe.

p.s Do post a pic soon not like me who posted it after a month or so .
And i am sure you will not regret buying the GS anytime.

yesterday my Top speed was 115 in Eco mode when going downhill otherwise 108 was the max i could achieve will be trying the power mode soon. +1 to what @kiran said no vibes the best part when you ride at that speed

@Maestro bro well Petrol prices are low in delhi does help a bit but all blame goes to the heavy taxes in other states if they reduce it then prices will come down. Waiting for Shell to come up with some bunks in delhi.

                    • 2nd Top speed Test

Hey Guys....today i attempted to do a top speed test but failed to do so because of rain... also due to rain there was a lot of mud covered onto the chain cover and also the alloys got very muddy...The road was very slippery so i was'nt confident about braking as our gs's stock tyres gets easily slipped ....
I recorded a video but will not upload it because top speed was just 108...

As told...this time i shifted the gears after 8.5k RPM... i shifted the 5th gear at 10k RPM...that time speed was 107kmph.

There were a hell of crosswinds...so did'nt managed to go further...
Once rainy season is over i'll go for the 3rd attempt...and at that time i'll try to find some long plain straight as it will not interrupt the test.

and yes most imp thing...at that time i will race with an RTR160...and will upload both the top speed videos...

DO you guys want me to upload the video...???

I guess Low speeds at high gear is Good high(mean about 40-50kmph) rather than at lower gears.

Sure, I will drive slow for 2-3kms to get the engine running smooth.

                            Lol! You are no politician

Excellent Tips man. But Iam actually going to take my bike from SMK suzuki porur(Delivery time tomoro, registration done already). Iam going with my family mechanic so with engine sound itself he will say the condition.

I had a showcase stock but I compelled the Salesman to take from godown only

am going to fill only 3ltrs(after Sc fills 1ltr)--->Good tip from u

Iam a friend of Kalyans friend and met Mr. Kalyan and told him that why Iam coming from T.Nagar to Porur(long distance)is only for you and your service and we spoke for sometime regd bike, he is very positive, kind and intelligent too

Sure RC,Insurance etc will ask him when to take them.

And Will Check stratches, electricals, tank ,etc for sure(mechanic is there and I will ask Mr.Kalyan to be there too )

Sure, I know Mileage will improve after 1-2 services, anyways Iam a safe driver. Bought my helmet(Studds) and vehicle cover too(bullet size) So no fuss

And I will read them manual thorougly for sure.

Hal a km drive with SC engg,
Are you sure. I have mechanic with me so I guess no need to do that half km stuff right???

And Lastly. Sure I will give 100bucks to the salesman(Dad told to do so) and 500bucks for the mechanic. So Will have smooth relationship with them forever

Thanks for the great tips Anup and You
