hey, it seems you are really living up to your profile caption. Just kidding. Anyways regarding the modes I dont have any clear idea so cant comment on it. But people have managed in excess of 120 km on gs. This may be due to various factors like road conditions, cross wind etc. So you need to accept these things with a pinch of salt. Also I think Arish was referring to the colour of the hid. I mean he wants a pilot lamp which has the same colour as the hid. Also people dont appreciate when one is sarcastic. Therefore please be reasonable while posting comments. Chill out. RajOriginally posted by dcs View PostMate, with all due respect to Suzuki and the Gs150R, let me assure you, this bike is not so advanced that it can let you choose the engine response. The modes that you are talking about is nothing but an indication to tell you when you are leaving the economy zone and getting into Fuel Burning Zone.
Yes, the higher end bikes give you the option of choosing the Ignition timings/ time mapping, but GS150R is too lame to all this. Trust me.
Also, If you have touched 127 kms on your bike, then you should rather speak to Suzuki Motorcycles India Pvt. Ltd. They would either make you their brand ambassador or would change your speedometer for free.
If you think that no one will be able to spot the difference between a PILOT lamp and an HID, then perhaps you are targeting wrong people.
Do you seriously think that a 3-5W bulb would glow with the same intensity as a 35W HID?? I would need a bigger dose of Hajmola to think of digesting this.

petrol quantity is in your hands
If we are careless even at SHELL they will stealing petrol
Once it happened for me 12 days back at mahadevapura shell bunk
From that time onwards I am going to the same bunk and telling that guy to take hands off after you turn on the petrol gun because by default it will fill up to the quantity which was entered earlier earlier
but this guys keeps holding the gun in to half on or some tactical way to feed lesse than the mentioned amount
after am getting good mileageSarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity

Guys today I tuned my carb..
From factory settings it was 3 turns clockwise. Right now mine is at 5 times anti-clockwise. After changing it the engine character seems to be changed a bit
. Before tuning it while driving in top gears there was sudden gush up of petrol flow when I used to change it to the lower one. But now there's a free flow of petrol
. There's no sudden gush ups in the flow. Is it same with others also ?

hi
hi frds,
today i attended free service camp at Roowal suzuki, chennai. i reported the engine noise issue i had previously.. though i seldom have now. and keep on complaining about the bike..headlight, cam chain.etc. the suzuki engineer stand near by become somewhat angry and told me.. dont assume everything urself.. he then told the service center guy to note down what ever i reported.. after that he took my bike for a ride about 5 kms. with a SC guy. i was waiting in customers lounge. and after 3 hrs i inquired about the stage. SC guy told that suzuki engineer told to replace cylinder, piston set under warranty. after changing it.. again that suzuki engg. took a ride for another 5 kms. and he insisted to change the fork oil..
so plz some one tell me.. y they have changed that though i didnt have any major issues in riding.. and again am i have to follow that initial runin period..
and also i complain about the SC engine oil.. he replied there is nothing wrong in that oil. & i am the first one making such compliant. i enquired about the use of synthetic oil.. he told dont use..?? but i didnt ask y?
thats it.. they delivered it at 6.30 pm. they was servicing my bike almost 7 hrs... after service its is smooth.. but have to wait & see.. since our bike always shows its character after a week of service done..

Well, you arent the first person who got a cylinder and piston replacement for the bike..Originally posted by Arun Prasad View Postso plz some one tell me.. y they have changed that though i didnt have any major issues in riding.. and again am i have to follow that initial runin period..
I think another person from kerala had got new piston, cylinder too after complaining about engine noise..
He said that after they changed it, the sound reduced and bike was smooth, but he went through run in process and after running about 1500kms on new cylinder, the noises became same as before..

I think there's something about the engine that should not have been there and suzuki s trying to figure out what it is..
(i think its the fact that the sound changes when bike engine gets heated, supposedly it happens only in GS and not any other bike)
But unless there's some major problem (which i doubt there is), there wont be any recall of all the GS150's.

@ RSKK89
That's tooo much rich man
Make it should be better to be with in 3.5 anti clock wise turns from the extreme closed position (1 round anticlockwise or clockwise from factory position is max good)
The setting may varry and depends on each bike the above said is only the optimistic level.
@ Arun Prasad
Sound changes when engine heats up I believe falcon is right because it may be due to aluminum engine (ours is All aluminum engine) so it expands a bit at high temperature that will cause change in the melody tune
This is not happening on all GS but heard for the second time in this thread
Its good that they replaced some core components and agreed
My friend is fighting with the indian bike company (for the past 5 months) for his engine seized issue on his 150 cc now only came towards a settlement
@ Falcon even am interested to opt for LED pilot lamps do let me know so as I also join you.......Last edited by MSN1; 08-29-2010, 01:24 AM.Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity

Ride in eco mode for about 2-3 kms......then switch to power mode and power shift i mean......shift above 8-8.5k rpm.............that is when the indicator blinks.........then be it the shift from 1st to seecond gear......or 5th -6th gear.......shift after 8-8.5krpm only.......and there you are with your BEAST doing 125kmph+...........make sure you are on a nice road .........and less amount of crrossssswindsssss.........they hamper your speed a lot...Originally posted by Arish View PostWould you like to give me some tips regarding the gear shifts to achieve 127kmph..???
many guys tell me to accelerate the bike in the 5th gear as there is a lot of power in the fifth gear...dude plz watch my video and tell me what are the mistakes i've done...??

and yes keep the petrol level more than half!!!!
Arish told you about this one!!!!!Originally posted by Arish View Post
And I have an another question..

Which color pilot lamp will suite my Blue GSR ??? and yes it should match with the HID.....i should look really eye-catching in the night...as the origianal bulb does'nt look good and not at all matches with the HID.
I fixed it and quite sure it will match your HID.......Originally posted by Arish View Postabt parking light..
go 5-7 pages back you ll see pics posted..they are of car signalling bulb 5W each (PHILLIPS)..with 4000k temp (white), looks great...they are direct fit NO what so ever mod required
Have you fixed it ??? bro what iam telling that it should match the HID light...as the philips will just look like the HID no one will spot the difference between the HID and the pilot lamps...are u geting ut...??
you can check them in my display pic.....
i'll try posting a pic with my headlamp on tomorrow!
Thanks for all your comments............but let me clear something.......about engine response n stuff......the modes really work......some people think its just the indication of gear shifts but when you actually drive the GS with these you can see the difference in the pickup and power from the beast!!!!!!Originally posted by dcs View PostMate, with all due respect to Suzuki and the Gs150R, let me assure you, this bike is not so advanced that it can let you choose the engine response. and its not just me........even MACH50 achieved that speed......and many of them here crossed 120kmph+........and within next 2-3 days even arish will achieve this feat.....(Suzuki cant afford all of us to be their brand ambassadors.......shyaaaaaa.....)
and one last thing.........even though GS is the heaviest bike.........still it can do wheelies and stoppies..........dont make these kind of faces now
check out the video posted by MACH50......

i am looking to buy this bike as my first but seeing all the complaints(rusting, cylinder replacement) im having second thoughts, does everyone get these problems? is there a way of checking the rusting issue? and also which is the best showroom and service center to purchase this bike from in bangalore?

GS is a very nice 150cc bike, and that is it, there's nothing more or less to it. The true top speed of GS is between 110 - 115 kph at the most. With an overdrive 6th gear, cruising is quite effortless at high speeds compared to other similar 150cc bikes. 120+ is just an over optimistic speedo indication, that's it

well bro every bike will have some negatives no matter what you look at pulsar thread you will have a issue and look at dazzler thread some other issues so nothing is perfect. And regarding the piston replacement i think that SVC engineers are trying to make the already good engine of GS better since they see a opportunity in GS to expand their stronghold with Engine in prime importance.Originally posted by Gizmotech View Postyep bro
, thanks!! that is so good to hear!! cause i took my dad to see the bike today, and he also liked it alot!
and @rskk even i feel 5 turns is to much try 4 turns then slowly go higher then lower all hit and trial method.
p.s today filled my baby with 800 Rs of Fuel with about more than 3.5L of fuel remaining.
Cost of fuel in Delhi 51.45 so the bunk guy was astonished by the space once again since a karzima filled just before me 700Rs of Fuel with all kind of shaking
