  • @Maestro: you would like what happened to me today,a group of few bikers, two on a bullet, one on a brand new 15bhp Pulsar 150,another on a Pulsar135LS and one last guy on a CB Dazzler were chatting at the petrol pump.
I was returning from my business place, complete in executive clothes, needed to refuel, last time I refueled(4 liters),it was 2 weeks ago , as I got into the fuel pump and asked for the guys to refuel my bike........these bikers started looking at my bike and passing comments.....good ones ,but the Pulsar150 guy made the comment that his bike is hard to beat, then the Dazzler guy told that his bike is same as the Pulsar too.The two guys on the Bullet told them that they know my bike and it was the only one of its kind in the entire eastern part of my city and soon their discussion grew into topics which included,my personal life speculations and had words that I am just a coward regular guy.I started my bike and wanted to go out of the petrol pump and one of these guys intentionally took a U-turn and blocked my way pretending to get out of the petrol pump first. Then I slowly maneuvered away and was going to take a left turn home, when the bullet came out of my left and I had to avoid hitting it,the pillion shouted that I dont know how to ride...........Well that was enough to forget how valuable was my life.I sped up and kept Honking(I have installed Hyundai Santro dual horns on my GS ) at their back and disturbing them and guided them away to the nearest city highway........They kept following me in their foolish desire to prove that they are the men.

Just I was on the almost empty afternoon Highway,I slowed down.........The Pulsar150,Bullet,Dazzler and 135 started accelerating hard.....I can hear their machines, then I downshifted to 2nd at 35kmph,revved the GSR all way to 9500rpms,I heard the rev limiter hitting in......Kak kak kak ,upshifted....the bike launched with a pace that almost unsettled its front wheel, then it did 106kmph in fourth gear......now it was feeling like the Pulsar220DTSFi,..........I happen to like the Pulsar220 bike very much and its very thought got me more aggressive,I upshifted to 5th in redline with throttle wide open.............BOOM,it went past Bullet,Dazzler,Pulsar150 and Pulsar135(traveling in staggered formation at their top speeds, engines screaming hard) .........a twisty road approached, braked single time, got through the twisties at 102kmph,blipped the throttle, downshifted to third.........opened the throttle widely again, bike rose to 120kmph in fifth, upshifted in redline......the speedo suddenly showed 132kmph !!!!!!!!,for a fraction of a second, then came back to 125kmph.Checked my RVMs..........what the hell !!!! No One ????? Not even a four wheeler !!!!!.Slowed down, stopped by a local chai shop..........the bike needed to rest,it was dragged like anything out of anger.
Drank tea, after four minutes as I was about to ride my bike again,I saw the group passing at 90kmph.I got up on my bike, started it,got upto a quick 101kmph and behind the group,I again honked and flashed my light. They suddenly gave side and the road was left open for me.I slowly, accelerated and cruised away from them.

Today my GSR has proved again, that it is a real time, complete Hot Rod Speed Junkie,it can take serious acceleration and top speeds with ease.If the Youth is not proud of it,then my Manhood is definitely proud of it.

GSR is a bike for complete cool riders and grown up steel nerved Men with a lot of skills and guts to push it......just like Pulsar220F
FZ and Dazzlers are for posers and college goers to go around cute girls.
Pulsar150DTSi is for the Big mouthed guy,who thinks he can be everything, soon to realize that he is nervous even to think what he just spoke of.
RTR are for serious speed freaks.....and hooliganism, accelerates very fast, but doesn't carry good top speeds.
CB Unicorn.........a matured performer, just like GSR,it doesnt give a damn what others think about it, although on the slower side.

Thats how I feel about the current 150cc air-cooled segment now.

Hence,Maestro and fellow GSR owners ,its not wise to argue with people who wont take the fact what their bikes are capable and not capable of.
Let the buyer go and buy whatever they like,we have told our part.

Whether Dazzler is better than GSR,its no more a point to make.
Unicorn is far better than the Dazzler still and GSR is better than Unicorn thats all, lets no more argue over junk.

          >Critics say,why critics you said dazzler has same frame as the uni......and i say they just did some fine tuning and cosmetic mods with that rear disc brake and speedo rest is the same old uni.....then why didnt honda discontinued uni.....like they did to the rest of generations......afterall dazzlerr is just the upgrade of uni....and if really Dazzler was an allrounder they would have discontinued uni.....
          >Dazzlers looks.........i love them....Msn here is telling about looks.......that it was styled to beat the FZ...not GS....if it was for GS then dazzler would be launched waaaaaaay back.....and GS even though simple ,has the road prescence......

          >Rear disc its excellent....i agree with that.....

          • I can read and understand English and I will understand what is written there. We are talking about how fun to ride the a bike, and not how it feels if a GF sits as a pillion. I understand he has a GF. Got the point.
          • I reiterate, Dazzler has MF battery. Stunner has regular battery. MF battery will not give way so easily. Many bikes without kickstarter are doing well with MF battery.
          • Unicorn is a successful model and from business point of view, Honda chose not to discontinue it. Dazzler is pricey than a regular model and it is for style-conscious people. Having options in same category is good for business. I reiterate, it is funny that Dazzler can be considered as an allrounder only if Honda discontinues Unicorn.
          • The Dazzler is quicker than Unicorn and is a better product than Unicorn.
          • It is a joke that you said "how can you compare a Honda to Yamaha"

Now I understand I am speaking with people who think their bike is always great than others. I have never said GS150 is not a good product and I am correcting some misconceptions that are quoted here about the Dazzler here. If you cannot bear the truth, well I cannot do anything; I have better things to do in life than explaining.

MACH50, It is a well-written story. Everybody will not rev to 9k rpm in 3rd gear. Bike capapbility will be known if the other rider rides like the same way you ride. Go to a drag strip try yourself Dazzler and GS150 back to back and comment that you smoked Dazzler/p135/P150 by huge margin. BTW, I like the way you exaggerate the things.

And BTW, I have never said Dazzler is better than GS150 anywhere. I am not trying to prove also which bike is better. Go and read my posts again. Do not just jump to conclusions. I am just correcting some comments that are not true about the Dazzler and putting the true scenario for ragavtlwr to choose a bike.

It is really funny that Unicorn is a better product and Dazzler is not. Now, I understand what kind of fans are here on the GS150 forum.

I will rest my case here. No point in arguing.

              • Why are you guys arguing? Every bike is good in its own way.

                @Ravi
I agree with everything you said but why do think people wont rev bikes to 9k rpm. If they want to compete they have to do that right. I've never ridden a Dazzler. But Dazzler was the first bike on my list. Backed off since the waiting period here in Bangalore is 2 months. And dont tell me Dazzler doesnt have any issue. GS has issues and I'm sure Dazzler would have as well.
                All peace Bro. xD

I left bangalore with 2 bars of fuel and it went to reserve after 60 km. i filled tank ie. 15 litres. went to vellore and came back and now its shows 1 bar. Wtf is happening ? i was cruising at 100 kmph though. Is there a style of riding i should adapt to get more mileage on long ride with good cruising speeds? I filled shell the first 2 times. this time i dint find shell so HP."

Good morning I just got up now

It was my personel openion which I wrote based on the experience which I had
Suzuki or honda is not paying me to support them .

Mono shocks are for comfort ride.
Tuned engine is to reach speed faster.
Digital console is for easy to read and understand.
You tell which component is fixed for better or more fun ?

Ahhaa you didnt argued to all my points I felt you agree with me on the below two points

                    1. Gs modes economic and power mode.

                    2. Thanks at last you agreed that the hunk is on par with dazzler.

                        • MoDs on GS150r

Guys, I have given my GS for MoDs at Ramkoti in Hyderabad. The mods are,
                          1. Karizma Doom-4500 rs (i really hate gs's heavy handle feel and is difficult to ride in hyderabad traffic. Moreover the new pulsar 220 doom is 9k, fazeer doom is also 9k and r15 doom costs 15k rs)
                          2. K&N R1100 Filter(without upjetting)-2500 rs (sound and good low end performance. RC1060 costs 1600 rs)
                          3. NGK iridium spark plugs-600 rs(better combuston efficiency and long life)
                          4. HID-1600 rs(chinese one without warranty. More light)
5.Free flow exhaust-1000 rs(more sound and slightly more performance)
                          6. Horns (very loud with musical changer)-600 rs
                          7.Red color engine neon-dono cost(looks at night)
8.Blue led parking light at front in karizma doom
9.Red led for back number plate light
10.Orange cplor painting for the karizma doom and the rims(not spokes) of both wheels
                          10. Shell advance VSX 10w40 semi synthetic oil

                          TOTAL COST- 12000 Rs

Getting my bike tomorrow evening.. will post review and pics after that.

If you want a fun-to-ride bike in city with great flickability, buy either FZ or Dazzler. Do not worry about the occasional highway rides, both FZ and Dazzler are capable of cruising at 80-90 kmph speeds for longer periods. There is a thread in tourer section where somebody already toured Leh with Dazzler. I hope this puts end to your doubts.

                                Touring + low maintenance = GS150

Fun-to-ride, easy flickability in city, low maintenance, an allrounder = Dazzler, Unicorn, Hunk, Extreme.

Pure fun-to-ride bike in city and twisties = FZ-16 (high maintenance due to poor mileage)

What you feel when you ride is important than what others feel when they ride. Ride yourself the bikes that you wanted and choose yourself.
Thanks! This one really puts it down.
But the FZ bit is not quite right though! On the highways, it will gasp for breath and may even be unable to overtake faster vehicles. The Dazzler and GS will blast the FZ when it comes to performance!

Only two questions remain in my mind now - How comfortable is the Dazzler on long distances? Also, how long can you exert the engine like that? I am sure you can keep on doing that all day on the GS

The second is a personal question, none of you can help me with it. I have to ask myself how much touring I am going to be able to do! I love touring and want to go over the whole country...... but then, maybe there's time for that. I am still just a college student. This idea of mine will lead me to the decision soon, I can feel it.

                                True

That GF bit really sucks dude!
What the hell have you been thinking?

Don't you think you are a bit partial to the GS?

Let the buyer go and buy whatever they like,we have told our part.

Whether Dazzler is better than GSR,its no more a point to make.
Unicorn is far better than the Dazzler still and GSR is better than Unicorn thats all, lets no more argue over junk.
So all in all you are saying "The Dazzler sucks, GS rocks, but it's your choice!"
                                That is just sick bro!
If you don't want to give your inputs here, then let others do so, you can be out of the discussion! (at least so far as my queries here are concerned).

Am I the only one to whom this guy sounds like a politician?

@ALL - Guys, someone said recently anxbhpian went up to Ladakh on his Dazzler? I have been unable to find that post in 'the tourer' section. Can someone give me the link?
