this power mode in GS is not like the TVS power and eco mode

GS150R power mode directly works with carb see your carb just close to the golden screw you will see wires connected to it

those wires sets the fuel air mixture according to power / eco mode

sounds amazing right enjoy riding safely
Yeah Definitely amazing and plus more practical mileage right

But is it comparable with initial pick up of RTR 160 or FZ16???

And also pls provide me pg no. of the power mode discussed in xbhp. Since there are 750+ pgs, diffciult to find it....

Dont do that......it will worsen things for your engine and the ignition coil.

I also tried the power & Eco mode, but could only make out a slight difference (Don't know whether it is my imagination)

Also if the power mode is for rich mixture & eco for leaner, how does it work in the GOD mode.

In god mode it works like a ordinary carburettor.

Most svc engineers do what should not be done and doesn't do what needs to be done.

Just list your issues and make sure they done it.

I used to tell them what need not to be touched.
I-e brother dont touch the mileage and oil change

They didnt touched mileage screw or oil but they changed my idle settings.

Can someone tell me if i can change the headlamp bulb for better lighting without changing the electric circuit or any other changes.

I had seen on a shop a OSHARAM 12V 60/65Watts blue colored headlamp for Rs 850 appox. Can this be used on our bike without any modifications?

Yes but u have to remove ur pilot lamp a 10watts power saved for ur headlamp(or put a low watt LED) ,to get atleast fair result, though some did the same ,with 55/60watts(normal yellow color) of same OSHARAM which seems to be better bet...In blue vision u won't see path holes but blind ur oncoming vehicles

                    • Don't go for any lamp above 200rs, better save the money and go for HID as low as 1500. No way any juggad with halogens going to match the power of HID.

If you are keen to buy Osram, stick with Silverstar bulb, yellow 55/60W costing some 180rs.

                        That's right,

Are you sure that Osram Silverstar 12v 55/60W will work with out any modification or load shredding (just plug N play).

If yes I am also ready to go for it.

And silverstar means white light not the yellow rite.

One automobile shop guy recommends Xenon bulb instead of helogen; insisted that xenon is better than helogen

Said its a direct fit in to the normal socket its 12v 35w/ 35

Is that true ? Did anyone tried that !!!

I dont mind paying 1500 for HID, but for HID i will have to do modifications. right ?

Osram, stick with Silverstar bulb, yellow 55/60W - i might try this

Can i also change the Rear number plate light bulb to LED as even it seems to be eating a lot of watts?

Yes ,but its not eating lot of watts in AC,It is connected in DC only.So u won't get advantage here...
Go for OSRAM 55/60watts as animer told ,but remove ur pilot lamp totally to get full benefits ...

                              • On GS, the only load shedding you can do is disconnect the pilot lamps. Rest all is on DC.

The 55/60W bulb after load shedding is OK, but I thing CA series already gives as much light as that. I wouldn't bother paying 200rs for a very small upgrade.

For HIDs, the modification required is very small, you need to connect the headlight wire to DC source, and that's it. Now some members are totally against this and for good reason, that your will fry up the battery. But the solutions to this problems are bit complicated, like rewinding etc. I use HID is following manner:

                                1. Have given up using starter, and back to old kick start, unless there is a situational need. Starter eats up battery.
                                2. Disconnected the pilot lamps, because they too are DC now, and are unnecessarily eating up 10W.
                                3. Avoiding using HIDs in crawling traffic. I am going to plonk two LEDs in the disconnected pilot lamps, so cops won't bug me.

I ride quite some amount on weekends on tours, many times in night. HIDs are totally worth, and are not fragile. Save up your money if you are serious about night riding. Else, Osram silverstar.

@MSN1: Silverstar is white when given full 55/60W! We are providing it only 45W, so it is not fully powered. Don't bother with the xenon bulb and other juggads. Save the money for a ride!
