hey guys, has anyone changed the gs headlights from ac to dc?? i'm planning to do so...need help!!

When i went for service last time i asked them about getting my own oil..but they were like "u have to change oil[recommended=castrol] during service else it will void warranty"
Else i wud have switched to motul during first service itself..

They are just threatning you, That's not true warrent will get void only if you go against the manual book .

You can change oil with the help of local mechanic

Ok, even i have been filling 350 bucks to get that free car, collected 5 of them, but when i went today morning to old madras road shell bunk, the person said that the offer is over !!! (i thought it was there till 25th) missed getting the 360 spider.

In any case, since the offer was over, i just filled 100 bucks of fuel, and my bike had travelled 75kms in reserve when i filled, right now its a 92kms from reserve, still in main. (since i got 1.7 litres of fuel, that means my mileage is 55 and counting..

But when i filled 350 bucks, my mileage was always 48..

I guess less fuel in tank= more mileage.. i have noticed this right from the start..
(or alternatively, it could be because i switched from eco to pwr mode, since Madhu said it gives more mileage)

And regarding the oil thing, i buy the oil bottle from outside only, and make the SC people change it for me.. there's no problem with warranty and all buddy.

@all Bangaloreans: Is that shell car offer still there in any bunk right now(as on 23rd october), because i really want to collect the last car. and the offer is not there in old madras road shell bunk.

@thefalcon: The Power mode gives more mileage than Eco? or is it the vice versa?

pwr mode, eco mode and god mode which will give good mileage ?

Less fuel mean it will survive for less hours so evaporation is also lesser.

Full tank means less space. And evaporation is lesser both are possible.

My last mileage was 48 where I used eco mode and most of the times the weight carried was 90 kg (me and kid)
Earlier in power mode I got 51 kmpl thrice and once 49 on very bad traffic with human weight exceeding 150 kgs

This time am experimenting with god mode pickup and performance is good will update you next week about mileage.

guys does any body having issue like hitting of rear wheel break lever to speed breaker when applying brake.

Yes it happen to me when i press rear brake in a big speed breaker(my pedal is loose that time)...when i make some adjustment tightening the brake its not hit again...

guys will this yamaha G5 brake lever suit GS to avoid hitting of brake lever at speed brake or will it need any mod?

Thanks for your reply guys. Iam not finding fault with GSR(There are lot of Pulsarians busy with this). I do say that bike has to be improved. But overall what a pick. Amazing bike

In my view:

1)Decent and attractive looks
2)Great comfort
3)Good power
4)Its HUGE

Am loving this. But still i see that after few modifications we can make this bike better.

The place where it handles unwell is
1) Traffic Jams
2) Rear break(There is no difference if you dont have one of this)
3) Pick up must be improved

So what mods can be done to make it a the king of 150cc segment???

Even i love this bike.........done 5.8k on odo......it just handles superrbly on highways........went to have my breakfast at an highway today morning......was literally cruising at 120kmph....the road mumbai nashik expressway is superb.......not much of turns and like the cherry on the cake roads were empty today....all those cage drivers were looking at me...but then i encountered a group of giant cage drivers(toyota fortuner,skoda superb,bmw 7series)and they just simply zoomed past me(was at 111kmph that time)...........then out of nowhere on the deserted road found a CCD hoarding......so stopped by to see if it was there or not.....and to my surprise it was there......so went in and had a breakfast there....also did some off roading......

regarding mods......

Cosmetic wise..........remove the back lip below the number plate.....change the seat to something sportyand also increasse height......remove the saree guard and chain cover........instead put gladiatorss 's chain cover........put suzuki Bkings tank fenders......and remove those sidelamps.....
do this and see heads turning 180Degree.........

Performance wise put an K&N airfilter and do upjetting with pulsar 180s needle jet and apache180s mainjet......put an aftermarket exhaust(if you are low on budget).......put an HID with an bixenon projector.....
doing this will increase your bhp to 16-17......as told by mach bhai.....and due to the gear ratios made such as to support high end driving......dont be surprised if you are riding with an R15 at 140kmph+ speed.....

Hey my Gsr is 14 days old, last three times i calculated mileage. First filling of fuel, i dint calculate, the last three times i got 58, 52, 48. The last 100 Rs fuel, am running still in 102 kmts, still it hasnt come to reserve, ill go for first servicing on 27th or 28th, ill see whether this mileage will sustain or not

It was early morning five am was travelling towards city majestic.

no traffic on road a pulsar220 and avenger is chaseing, they induced me to join their race. But I was in no mood to join their party, because I love to ride gs monster in silent cruze mode. A lorry took a wrong turn and twisted down on the road so small jam started I saw the 220guy, asked him where is the avenger he said even I thought its avenger but its not I just read the name hearly davidson and with respect withdrew my mood to chase it.

He asked me for a ride we changed bike and went for another 5kms he returned my gs and said you sick guy how bad you are to ride this monster in slow speed.

Also asked me how come its so silent even at 60+ kmph.

I said thats Suzuki.
