@MIHIR: Fuel efficiency would be in tune of 52-55kmpl with the mods..........GS150R would be the most fuel efficient performer bike then.Ask me why???......Its because, apart from increasing fuel load in correct proportion(mind it,I am talking about a 4T carb part here, its specific),we are also going to induce correct amount of air to complement it.Since it would be difficult to go for a total carb change as our bike runs Dual throttle,so we will balance the air ratio part with the KN filter. Then neither the higher fuel load would be rich, nor the bike would run leaner due to free air flow.
Actually,KN increases efficiency if ridden economically.Leaner mixtures increases FE.But if you start pushing the bike around thinking you have induced a rocket with KN,without balance the carb likely.......you'd be making a big mistake, you will gain some low end torque but would lose FE most of the time.
My custom mod,for my bike are well crafted out,so that it does exactly what I expect.Nor more.....saving the FE,nor less "catch me if you can"
@Arish.....I think you have turned a rebel and you like to curse the GSR a lot, afterall maybe it wasn't the right bike for you
,coz you always like to prove so much that GSR is not a youth bike
While I do exactly the opposite Dude
Anyway, the performance mods would cost around 2800 bucks.
KN RC1060 for 1300-1400bucks
P180 mainjet for 260 bucks
Irridium sparkplug is 550 bucks
If you want a double core Splitfire cable,it would cost you 600 bucks.
Thats all a GSR needs.Overmodding than this is not needed,I would rather save and plan for a SBK.
About the HID,first of all,you need to convert the electricals to full DC.Otherwise your HID would be a waste, with glitches like switch burning, flickering low intensity and battery discharging.
Next,I believe 4300K megawhite 35W HID is the one for our GSR.It looks classy and is not illegal too.You can see Mercs and BMWs on such HIDs as stock
.I would myself go for this after I convert it to DC.
Another thing, please dont judge a bike's age by months and years......quote the kilometer. If your ride is well around 5000kms,go for all the mods.Use synthetic oil too.Hell's Angel

4rth service update
Hi Guyz,
Today i got my bike serviced........
-----------------------
Issues reported to svc:
-----------------------
1)Engine knocking sound/boulder grinding sound.
2)Light series change from BA to CA.
For the above two i mailed complaint to Suzuki through contact us.
-------------
Action taken:
------------
1)RR unit changed to "CA" series
2)Got my bore and piston replaced with new one....
3)Changed to veedol 10w40 oil both in engine(1 liter) and in oil filter(250 ml)
-------------------------
Result/improvement noticed:
--------------------------
1)The light throw is better at low rpm than the Ba series and over all improvement in light aspect.
2)Will report after covering 500 km.Initial reaction is the knocking sound is less than previous. The service guy told me to maintain the speed b/t 50 and 55 or b/w 4000 to 4500 rpm.
3)The gear shifts were as smooth as gulf.....the engine performance is also good...but will watch the next 500 kms and will bring to your notice the positive side.
Thanks,
Kasperrmat.

Thanx dude for reverting back..I'll explain you what actually I followed step by step...Originally posted by MSN1 View Posti was the one who quote that, but i want you to mention the RPM settings have you tuned as per mach50 (tuned the idle too)
Are you sure is the petrol you are using is quantity wise fine
My GS Settings (its 2009 model)
Golden Screw = 3.25 turns from extreme close (0.75 than factory default {2.5})
My Warm engine idle = 1200 RPM
Cold start idle = 900 *this is everyday first kick start early morning
cold engine idle = 1000 RPM
**********************
i believe default factory settings is this
Golden Screw = 2.5 turns from Extreme close
Idle 1400 to 1500 Rpm
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@ Arish
thats true more over their are several other factors impacting mileage such as engine oil, petrol steelers in bunks, and how you calculate the mileage (am using Reserve to Reserve trip meter reset)
1. Rode bike for 2-3 km
2. Parked it & raised idling to 3000RPM stable
3. Turned fuel screw clockwise until it reached end position. At that instance idling had came down to 1500RPM.
4. Then lowered the idling till 1000RPM n engine was about to stall
5. Turned fuel screw 4 anticlockwise rotations (On first instance. Later changed it to 3.5 anticlockwise rotations as per your advise). RPM came up to 1400RPM.
6. Then ran that test-raised RPM upto 6500RPM n freed the throttle. Idling came to 1500RPM, repeated this 2-3 times result was same.
7. On central stand only, Engaged all the gears from 1-6. In all geared positions RPM was around 1200-1300RPM with stable firing sound.
It was really fine until I noticed that there was some change in the engine behavior.
By the way even mine is 2009 version. Each time I fill in my bike for 3L of petrol (if it is local brand) & 5L (if filling in shell)...I don't ride bike in reserve. So it ll always be 6L & 8L respectively...Usually I'll get 52-55 if it is local brand & 56-58 if it is shell. But now its not the case...!!!

Hey you said after turning once you got 60 rite which means settings is right probem may be somewhere else
Try this
Once your bike reaches reserve reset trip meter A to zero then go to shell and add one ltr petrol
Tell the petrol bunk guy to take off his hands from the petrol gun after started filling (coz they did a tactic of holding the petrol flow thus he took close to 30 % petrol.
Just drive normally once you hit reserve just check the trip meter that ill show the exact mileageSarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity

hmm @kasperrmat even you got the bore and piston replacement hmm is yours 2009 model? since suddenly there seems to be a lot of 09 models who are getting the bore and piston replacement.
On 1 part this is good that they have found some issues and are solving it on another this should not have happened at all,
Why not a total recall of all 09 models or specific models of 2010 makes it easier.

Hey, even i feel the same broOriginally posted by thefalcon View PostHey buddy, if you meet him can you ask him if all the 09 bikes have this problem.. and ask him specifics of what causes this problem too..
(since i'm not sure if my bike has a knocking problem or its just that low tone royal enfield sound which is characteristic of GS150, like how MACH50 had stated)
If they conduct a recall, then it'll be easier for all of us, otherwise each one of us will have to separately give a complaint and wait for their response.
And if possible tell him that quite a few people with 09 model experience this engine roughness after riding continuously for more than 7kms.
He might still remember me by name, since i had spoken to him quite a lot during the free service camp, (i was bugging him with the issues like rust and headlight actually)

Initially, i used to blame the castrol oil, now even after trying an alternative brand (Mobil) the issue still remains
It become rough after driving for few KMS, at times when revved too hard, it tends to become smooth
I believe, it is because of expansion of engine parts due to heat...

well i agree completely when i rev it hard after that it smooths out a bit but again after i put up the Engine oil it become very silent but after doing about 100kms it is almost back to square one.Originally posted by mathewsyriac View PostHey, even i feel the same bro
