    ...........My bike completed its run-in attempting and completing long rides.
    First long ride was 225kms to-fro from home
    Second was 500kms to-fro from home
    Third was 900kms to-fro from home,all in a matter of couple of weeks even before its speedo was connected.
    Its the same bike that touches over 120kmph in short patch.

    This bike was meant for highway and relaxed high speed touring for hours like the Karizma,give it the deserved respect...........take for long rides without any worries,but its advisable to check it out with SVC guys if everythings alright before you leave.

    I think you should check your carb now,coz its good that idling rpm is low,but I think you are running an odd mixture and you will feel lack of power and torque lag on a sudden pick-up.GS's optimum idle is 1400rpm t 1600rpm.

          happy to hear it actullly I personely hate the person who doesnt respects his bike with taking her for touring
          I was dieing to take her my hometown.....i was so concerned because of RUNNING IN thingy..
          now plan is also fixed...

            well i would not say that the core engine of GS is still rock solid it needs a bit of tweaking from suzuki to make the odd noises go away if that happens it will be gr8

            p.s @mihir no issues with riding long just give some break in between you should be fine i drove 160kms in my running period and it was a smooth affair just go easy on throttle no constant speeds for too long and you should be fine.

              All engines aren't bad but few, this happened on other brands also
              but suzuki agrees and replaces even the core components
              we need to work hard so as it was heard by suzuki , until then bad dealers keep denying stupidly

                  • Chain Cover

                    Hey can anyone tell me... removing the chain cover is a good idea ??

                    Everytime when bike passes through some path holes an irritating noise comes out from the rear...I think its coz of the chain cover...

                    And also can anyone tell me why the chain of GSR loosens so often...i have to tighten the chain every 15-20 days...I hate the chain noise....it reminds me of the old karizma...!!

                      yeah you are so point on about that..................the worst part is,it loses pick-up after that ,I think the SVC guys greases it amply or simply that it has more links for the sprockets it runs,both ways I think,its a common problem of bikes with long wheelbases and meant for high speed touring.Sudden acceleration on daily basis loosens the chain up faster.

                      Good thing is that it resembles the old Karizma,every possible way,the feel,the pick-up,the sound......and thats a good thing because the most powerful of all Karizmas was the old one,the new ones are slouchy in comparison.

                          Hi drive me crazy owners,

                          Is it practically wise to use two different company oils,one in oil filter and the other in engine......Actually i am changing oil filter and engine oil......in the 4rth service.....got veedol super swift 10w40 1lt for engine oil........but stuck with oil filter oil 100ml ..whether to go with veedo itself or go with castrol(suzuki stock oil)

                          Share me your first hand experiance.......

                          1)do you guyz landed in to probelms in terms of performance and milage because of using two different company oils,one in oil filter and the other in engine......

                            You can go ahead and use the veedol super swift 10w40..
                            If you change the oil filter, then you will need 1100ml of oil.

                            If your filter is relatively new, the keep the same oil filter and just pour 1000ml of oil..
                            A little oil left in the filter wont cause much problems,.

                            And about the different grades, 10w40 is fine.
                            as long as the second number is 40, it should be fine.

                            (if u use a w50 oil, you may fine little more drag due to higher viscosity of the w50 oil)

                            • @the falcon you can work with 1L even if you change the Oil filter as far as i know don't need to get the extra 100ML since i asked about this and no body in Suzuki tells that it is a issue. When my Oil Filter was changed on First service i asked specifically since it was a 1L Castrol bottle they said no issues only a full engine Opening up requires close to 1100ML or more.

                              that is what i have come to know but Mach and other and even you might have better knowledge about it but i do feel that 1L is enough with oil filter change.

                              @kasperrmat since you are trying a all together different oil Veedol do post a Review of it i heard pulsar guys use it although in different grade but have posted positive reviews about it lets see how it goes with GS. Typically i found very few oils lasting long in GS it is a Fast engine oil killer.

                              +1 to Arish and Mach the chain gets loosened up pretty quick making the bike lacking in pick up also the noise is really irritating at times whenever you hit the pot holes as arish said.

                              p.s Atlast yesterday night got to submit the Contact form today got a call from a guy Called Gaurav told about the bad service literally my SVC has worst cleaning crew i can wash my bike better than them without the pressure hose. Complained about the Knocking sound and chain slackening also the mileage drop and really a lot of noise from my gears shifting especially getting a click click sound sometimes during downshifts adding to the already existing Thud thud sound.


                              @MSN bhai thanks for the info it will help a lot of GS users i also complained today about the website but the guy told i am getting complaints from other customers. But any way my knocking sound has reduced a lot after a oil change to shell gears are butter smooth now.

                                Agree with adi For filter change even 1000 ML (1 ltr ) is enough thats what i heard

                                Of-course you may land in problem because both are bad oils
