    • Rusting has shown it's Ugly Face again...

      Hey Guys,

Long time since i posted here. But unfortunately i have come with some Bad News.
The Rusting Issue has showed up again. Today morning i went to fill up Petrol. That's when i noticed Rusting on the Inner Circle of the Fuel Tank. The last time i filled Petrol was more than a Month ago when i filled the Tank to the Brim. I am pretty sure there was no Rust at that time. Between then and now, there has been a lot of Rains and the weather has been Gloomy. Though i have not taken my Bike out in the Rains a lot.
And mind you, this is my 2nd Tank. I have already replaced my Original Tank due to Rusting Issues. My GSR is a 2009 Model but i replaced the Tank in 2010.
Also, a part of Black Paint has come off an area which is right above the Heel Section of the Gear, where we have a Black Painted Rod kind of thing. That area is also rusted.
Am thinking whether to purchase WD-40 and apply on the Rusted Area and check or directly take it to the Dealer and complain regarding the Issue.
Anyways, i do have the Direct Number of the Western Area Regional Head as we had communicated a lot when i had replaced my 1st Tank and the Chain Cover.
What do you Guys suggest ?

Am posting some Pics below that i clicked confirming the Issue.

      • @abhi_gsrpost it in the Suzuki website and claim replacement no Comprise on the Rusting issue. Since if you go to the dealer he might drag you long enough but once you complain it will make things easy.

in eco mode i got ts as 121 kmph.....
in power mode it went to 127kmph
in so called GOD mode it was 123kmph......
what sc guy is telling is not true......because he may not have ridden GS at such high speeds..........a lot depends on how and when you shift gears and also the road conditions and yes ofcourse the crosswinds.....
Would you like to give me some tips regarding the gear shifts to achieve 127kmph..??? many guys tell me to accelerate the bike in the 5th gear as there is a lot of power in the fifth gear...dude plz watch my video and tell me what are the mistakes i've done...??

          • Top Speed.Pilot Lamps....

Guys if you have seen my video then you must have realized that when i hit 117kmph the max engine RPM was 8.5k...

I have a major doubt...i have seen many top speed videos of R15 & P220...in those videos all bikes had engine RPMs above 10k in some videos it was 11k...

Is there any way to increase the RPM ??? because if in 8.5k RPM it goes 117 then in 10k RPM it should easily hit 125-130....

What do you think guys ??

And I have an another question..

Which color pilot lamp will suite my Blue GSR ??? and yes it should match with the HID.....i should look really eye-catching in the night...as the origianal bulb does'nt look good and not at all matches with the HID.

i wont tell about gear shifts, as i havent checked my ts yet..
but cross winds are most important ..

hahaha..here you go you have ans of your previous question in your text itself..
              you shift toooo early dude...
go upto 8 to 8.5k in 5th gear atleast then see the difference
Once i checked ts of my friends YZF R15 i dont remember RPM but i shifted to 6th gear on 121kmph...i got upto 135kmph(it was the model in which ts is not limited 1st one)

Mate, with all due respect to Suzuki and the Gs150R, let me assure you, this bike is not so advanced that it can let you choose the engine response. The modes that you are talking about is nothing but an indication to tell you when you are leaving the economy zone and getting into Fuel Burning Zone.

Yes, the higher end bikes give you the option of choosing the Ignition timings/ time mapping, but GS150R is too lame to all this. Trust me.

Also, If you have touched 127 kms on your bike, then you should rather speak to Suzuki Motorcycles India Pvt. Ltd. They would either make you their brand ambassador or would change your speedometer for free.

If you think that no one will be able to spot the difference between a PILOT lamp and an HID, then perhaps you are targeting wrong people.

Do you seriously think that a 3-5W bulb would glow with the same intensity as a 35W HID?? I would need a bigger dose of Hajmola to think of digesting this.

But is it an called air screw in the first place ??

If i remember correctly, its a fuel screw in 4 stroke bikes and it controls amount of fuel and not air.
(and it was an air screw in the older 2 stroke bike carbs)
Guys there seem to be confusion regarding carb pilot..what has been explained in previous posts is for 2 stroke bike slide carb..not CV like ours we have pilot fuel screw in the front of the carb at the base which controls the fuel entering the engine when throttle is closed or just off throttle. At high revs it wont affect the fueling much as fuel is sucked thro main jet (submerged in the fuel bowl, a tube which has progressively bigger holes in line with the carb throttle body). As more throttle is opened more fuel enters by sucking from the bowl through the different holes.

If i fill from IOC or BPCL bunks i never get more than 46-48..
Its only shell petrol which gives me 50+ even with rash riding..

And now since petrol prices are deregulated, shell will cost more or less the same as other fuels(may be upto 1 rupee more), so its better to go for shell.
Thats rite..we need to start with ensuring correct amount of fuel in the tank to begin with before blaming the carb or tuning or bike..my GS is back to normal mileage of 55..last fill it gave 64..different bunks tho..and also the traffic conditions were different may be

Buddy, i'm in the same position as you.
Even my 2nd tank started rusting, when i showed it to the SC he said no problem, he will lubricate it during next service, but i insisted on replacement and asked if i should send a mail to suzuki.
Then he said ok and he will order for new tank after clicking pics of my rusted tank during next service..

In my opinion, unless you give a complaint to suzuki directly, nothing will happen.
I've been asking for new battery holder too, as old one got rusted, but everytime they keep saying no stock..
I'm giving them one last chance during next service, if they dont seem helpful i'll mail suzuki too..

So i guess its best to just contact the higher authorities instead of SC/showroom.
