Has any body replaced the air filter with K&N.. if so, please mention the price, model and make..Last edited by kjsooraj; 08-31-2010, 08:03 AM.Suzuki GS150R (2009)

GS150R is capable of that,if you ever read Bike India Magazine, which has rated the GSR with 5stars and 150cc Bike of the year 2010,their test told that the bike accelerates past 100 very rapidly, which means the bike is a rocket in the 7000rpm-10000rpm zone..............Originally posted by kjsooraj View PostIn ur video the acceleration is very rapid i think..In my bike after you reach say 95-100 the the acceleration is very slow...How are you managing this feat..
Now all you have to do is extract it,the people who tests Bikes at Bike India are all professional Bikers.Usually the Editor Aspi Bhatena does the performance testing.......and he is a Isle of Mann participant and a pro racer. So they were able to extract that.
Thing is...........I also did it too
Trick is,one needs to know how to accelerate the vehicle to get the quickest times and that is real performance.
On the GS150R,shift the gear when you are doing 84kmph in 3rd,95-100kmph in fourth.........the fifth gear will suddenly accelerate it to 115kmph.....redline the bike then....you will see 120kmph coming up,then shift to sixth if you have enough roads, you will go past 120 to 125-129 max.
Now the sixth gear is very tricky,if there is lack of open road like in my case, the speeds past 120kmph would register only for fraction of seconds, because the traffic ahead would be approaching very fast and you would be compelled involuntarily to ease the throttle or to tap the rear brake.
On an open stretch,it would be there for hours.
Now all of that looks easy to read and maybe understand, but it would be difficult to comprehend and execute real time on the bike for beginners.
Our minds should be prepared,we need to trust our bike and be honest with ourselves about what we are going to do............there shouldn't be any mental barriers that my bike is capable of this only and that only,it would be rather like, lets see where it goes.
Now on some weekdays I often have my breakfast on a remote dhaba,on the NH 180-200kms away from home and then return and go for work.No doubt biking teaches a lot

why is the meter showing inconsistent figures 100 -120 -100 in a second or so . i think your speedo sensor is not working well . it should not change 10-15 km/h in such less time at >100 kmph .Originally posted by MACH50 View PostHi brothers,
I am back with one more reason, why you should respect and love your GS150R more
Amid all adversities of how to fit camera and less time in hand to make it to National Highways,I am presenting you the video of our GSR grossing 120kmph
in one of the city transit highway which is abundant in traffic, animals, jaywalkers and crosswinds.
Though there are few things I want to declare in before hand:
1.Suzuki GSR is equipped with TPS-Throttle Positioning System, which is a highly sensitive equipment meant to control and vary rpms with changes in throttle position.Hence it directly affects the speed count even if the throttle is slightly eased when the vehicle is nearing its top speed.
2.There is ample reasons why throttle easing and rear braking is necessary on the roads I rode............mainly the triple Cs
- Cows,Cars and Crosswinds.Precautionary measures and fast deceleration affected the constant travel at those speeds. So the speeds were attend for a few seconds only..........in this way,105kmph-111kmph-115kmp-121kmph-105kmph-118kmp-127kmph-115kmph-129kmph and so on.Just check the traffic ahead and the rpm meter during these fluctuations.
So heres to the video now........Enjoy
YouTube - GS150R ride.wmv
Things to watch out for......
1.Sound of my bike
2.TripleCs-Cows,Cars,Crosswinds
3.Girlfriend riding as Boyfriend's pillion,staring at me
friends of couple taking notice on a Pulsar.
4.Demonic acceleration, giving the fast cars with music systems on a complex
and on a city highway
I traversed 9.53kms in 5.5 minutes.........the route I used is in picture below,
Thanks
P.S.I love my bike and I can prove what it deserves,no doubt my parents hail it as my wife

throttle easing and rear braking, then revving,I was avoiding constant speeding to keep speeds in control. It was a busy highway. Its taking the feed all in fraction of a second, since its digital. An analogue meter in comparison would show slower response.Originally posted by Puneet1 View Postwhy is the meter showing inconsistent figures 100 -120 -100 in a second or so . i think your speedo sensor is not working well . it should not change 10-15 km/h in such less time at >100 kmph .
Moreover if the sensor would have been really faulty it would have had registered 135kmph or 144kmph too which occurs in bikes with faulty digital console, usually due to overload of electric pulse at high speeds..........but the speed was hovering around 105-129kmph range.....and that too the fluctuations were only there when I was sensing traffic or changes in road character ahead, please observe in the video.Last edited by MACH50; 08-31-2010, 02:40 PM.Hell's Angel

at 1:15 in video traffic isn't there and yet speedo keeps fluctuating . besides a 150cc cant suddenly go from 108 to 120 in few secs . not even the r15 .Originally posted by MACH50 View Postthrottle easing and rear braking, then revving,I was avoiding constant speeding to keep speeds in control. It was a busy highway. Its taking the feed all in fraction of a second, since its digital. An analogue meter in comparison would show slower response.

Yep its there, the bike is climbing from 108-115,traffic ahead observed ,speed lowers to 111kmph and then raised again, boom, traffic ahead right within 30metres or so,thats what I see at 1.15secs.Originally posted by Puneet1 View Postat 1:15 in video traffic isn't there and yet speedo keeps fluctuating . besides a 150cc cant suddenly go from 108 to 120 in few secs . not even the r15 .
About the R15,the one I ride registers 108kmph-130-135kmph within the same duration as the GSR shown in the video on the same road. One R15 was right at my back following me.Observe at 0.51secs right on the left of my bike,my friend waiting for me to come up on his R15.Last edited by MACH50; 08-31-2010, 02:50 PM.Hell's Angel

what im saying is that around 1:15 sppedo shows 111 and in 2 secs speedo shows 132 . though video not clear to see the figures well . i dont think the gsr can accelerate this much in 2 secs .Originally posted by MACH50 View PostYep its there, the bike is climbing from 108-115,traffic ahead observed ,speed lowers to 111kmph and then raised again, boom, traffic ahead right within 30metres or so,thats what I see at 1.15secs.
