+1 to that Madhu. As per various magazines and sites the top speed of our bike should be around 113 so it is possible that the true speed is less than the speed we see on the speedo. So if we can have a gps verified top speed test we would be sure. And by the way is gps 100% error free? Experts clarify. RajOriginally posted by ravi@17bhp View Post

The way that 131 kmph video was recorded,I can do 144kmph like thatOriginally posted by *MIHIR* View Posti saw 1 video on youtube showing 131kmph on GSR....what i saw is that,
You should know that since the speedo of our bike is connected to the rear wheel,it doesnt needs the front wheel to travel in order to register speed.
So,the easy and deceptive way to show some crap top speed is,put your bike on stand, put it through gears and rev your bike to maximum..........and that what is you talking about.
I guarantee you,you will hear no wind sounds, see no traffic or all that troubles of real road condition in videos like that.Mine is a real time proof

TPS is there in Unicorn and Dazzler (so is in X-treme and Hunk) too. Yamaha also employs this technology. Even old CBZ had this.
Though 121 kmph on speedo is good for a 150cc mill, the speedo error at higher speeds varies a lot. You need other instruments to measure the ture speed. My guess is that the speedo indicated 121 might be a true 110 kmph.
Thanks Ravi for yer appreciation and concern.
The tech employed on Hero Honda bikes is TPFC and Tumble flow, not TPS.
CBZ had TPFC,Unicorn based 150cc mills(Hunk,Achiever and CBZ-X) have Tumble flow.
Yamaha does employs TPS and it is called YTPS......no doubt their bikes are also behave similarly on dense traffic roads doing triple digits(I ride the R15 too
).But give the TPS enabled bikes a NH........those 120 upwards speeds would be registered for hours.
As far as true speed goes,GS150R employs the speedo at its rear wheel, which pretty sorts out the speedo error equation caused due to difference in alignment with the front wheel.Just like ZMR its contactless too.........I have posted its picture somewhere in these pages http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...s150r-546.html ,please check it if you like
Moreover,115kmph on GSR is indicated as 119kmph on the R15 and 112kmph on the GPS.If we judge it likely then I have clocked,129kmph,122kmph,125kmph,127kpmh,120kmph on the speedo.Which puts the true speed well around 123kmph on the average.
Moreover,no magazines revs their test bike over the peak power band.Almost all magazines have revved the GSR till 8500rpm even in the fifth gear.On the video, anyone can check, the revs of my bike redlining in fifth and sixth gear and that is when the 120kmph+ is being registered.Magazines also tests bikes that has hardly done its run-in,so top speed is compromised @4-5kmph.Last edited by MACH50; 08-30-2010, 04:04 PM.Hell's Angel

No,stock sprocket.Originally posted by Arish View Post@MACH50 cool video man.....I hope i'll also get that much speed on my GS one day...have u changed the sprocket...??
GSR already runs final drive lower than 3.00.I don't want to sacrifice acceleration in favour of top speed because I don't need to
My bike is now 2800kms old,and I like the way it is.
Moreover even if I had changed the sprocket for top speed,I wouldnt ever have had got that tarmac smoking acceleration observed in the video or the torque enough to wheelie a 150kg bike from my previous video
.Anything less than 13.4Nm torque for a 150kg bike would be a big compromise.
Thanks ChiefOriginally posted by chief ashman View Post@MACH50
Congratulations ... Youre the MAN!!! ... great going ... looked really scary to me with those cows and Ambassadors.

I am back with one more reason, why you should respect and love your GS150R more
Amid all adversities of how to fit camera and less time in hand to make it to National Highways,I am presenting you the video of our GSR grossing 120kmph
in one of the city transit highway which is abundant in traffic, animals, jaywalkers and crosswinds.
Though there are few things I want to declare in before hand:
1.Suzuki GSR is equipped with TPS-Throttle Positioning System, which is a highly sensitive equipment meant to control and vary rpms with changes in throttle position.Hence it directly affects the speed count even if the throttle is slightly eased when the vehicle is nearing its top speed.
2.There is ample reasons why throttle easing and rear braking is necessary on the roads I rode............mainly the triple Cs
- Cows,Cars and Crosswinds.Precautionary measures and fast deceleration affected the constant travel at those speeds. So the speeds were attend for a few seconds only..........in this way,105kmph-111kmph-115kmp-121kmph-105kmph-118kmp-127kmph-115kmph-129kmph and so on.Just check the traffic ahead and the rpm meter during these fluctuations.
So heres to the video now........Enjoy
YouTube - GS150R ride.wmv
Things to watch out for......
1.Sound of my bike
2.TripleCs-Cows,Cars,Crosswinds
3.Girlfriend riding as Boyfriend's pillion,staring at me
friends of couple taking notice on a Pulsar.
4.Demonic acceleration, giving the fast cars with music systems on a complex
and on a city highway
I traversed 9.53kms in 5.5 minutes.........the route I used is in picture below,

Thanks
P.S.I love my bike and I can prove what it deserves,no doubt my parents hail it as my wife

Wow... That was amazing..and scary too..I really jumped seeing those cows when the Honda city pulled over...
The top speed achieved by me was 113 KMPH that too with the right wrist twisted to the max..
In ur video the acceleration is very rapid i think..In my bike after you reach say 95-100 the the acceleration is very slow...How are you managing this feat..
Yesterday I was returning home from my place of job with all my luggage (I got another job, so resigned from first place). There was a total of 260 kms to cover(Wayanad to Ernakulam via Guruvayur). The highway was crowded with cars constantly honking in the back..So just decided to smoke them and GS did it with ease..
