I guess Low speeds at high gear is Good high(mean about 40-50kmph) rather than at lower gears.

Sure, I will drive slow for 2-3kms to get the engine running smooth.
Driving a new bike slowly in top gear @ 30-40 kmph may lead to engine glazing, where the engine settles without the proper sealing of the piston rings. This will lead to the leaking of oil to combustion chamber and may reduce the life of engine. So be careful not to drive too slowly till the engine running is over.

Iam new to measuring mileage and stuff so pls help
Hope you got all the pooja items, and vastu stuffs
Do pay atleast 21 rupees to your godman for performing the bike pooja. Tell him to keep the karpoor(campour) arati away from petrol tank.

Don't check mileage from the day one.

The reserve to reserve is the good method to check

Below mentioned is my sugestion for you

        * dealer gave the bike with 1 ltr petrol, and I assume you top it up with 4 ltrs.
        * so its in main okey, now just ride it without calculating mileage with the petrol knob turned towards main
        * once it hit the reserve (petrol empty on main) reset the trip meter then go to shell or reliable petrol bunk fill it check they pour right quantity petrol, drive it and check the trip meter when you hit reserve again.

        @ Rajesh

It seems you are telling that in wrong way
Its airfilter at 8k and plug at 10k I am sure that's what the book and dealer said
I haven't done it as just today I touched 5'K
And 1' K with motul 3000T plus it seems this oil is good for another 1'K

        • Suzuki GS150R- The fastest air-cooled,2V,150kg precisely 150cc bike.

          Hi brothers,
I am back with one more reason, why you should respect and love your GS150R more Amid all adversities of how to fit camera and less time in hand to make it to National Highways,I am presenting you the video of our GSR grossing 120kmph in one of the city transit highway which is abundant in traffic, animals, jaywalkers and crosswinds.

Though there are few things I want to declare in before hand:
1.Suzuki GSR is equipped with TPS-Throttle Positioning System, which is a highly sensitive equipment meant to control and vary rpms with changes in throttle position.Hence it directly affects the speed count even if the throttle is slightly eased when the vehicle is nearing its top speed.
2.There is ample reasons why throttle easing and rear braking is necessary on the roads I rode............mainly the triple Cs - Cows,Cars and Crosswinds.Precautionary measures and fast deceleration affected the constant travel at those speeds. So the speeds were attend for a few seconds only..........in this way,105kmph-111kmph-115kmp-121kmph-105kmph-118kmp-127kmph-115kmph-129kmph and so on.Just check the traffic ahead and the rpm meter during these fluctuations.

So heres to the video now........Enjoy
          YouTube - GS150R ride.wmv

          Things to watch out for......
          1.Sound of my bike
          2.TripleCs-Cows,Cars,Crosswinds
3.Girlfriend riding as Boyfriend's pillion, staring at me friends of couple taking notice on a Pulsar.
4.Demonic acceleration, giving the fast cars with music systems on a complex and on a city highway

I traversed 9.53kms in 5.5 minutes.........the route I used is in picture below,

          Thanks

P.S.I love my bike and I can prove what it deserves,no doubt my parents hail it as my wife

Sure Anup! So Will ride 30-40 at 4th and 5th gear I guess.

Will that do to prevent engine glazing??? If possilbe please post the range of speed for shifting gears from gears 1 to 6

                      Gear 1 = till 12 Kmph
                      Gear 2 = 15 kmph to 22 kmph (max)
                      Gear 3 = 20 to 35 Kmph
                      Gear 4 = 28 to 40 Kmph
                      Gear 5 = 35Kmph onwards
if you wanna cruse at above 45 kmph then try gear 6

the above said ratio is good for a new bike during the initial learning phase
if you are threw with GS then you can even drive at 4th gear on 25 also

                        • @MACH50, appreciate your effort. But, after seeing the traffic on the road, you have risked your life doing triple digits on that road. Please be cautious nextime.

TPS is there in Unicorn and Dazzler (so is in X-treme and Hunk) too. Yamaha also employs this technology. Even old CBZ had this.

Though 121 kmph on speedo is good for a 150cc mill, the speedo error at higher speeds varies a lot. You need other instruments to measure the ture speed. My guess is that the speedo indicated 121 might be a true 110 kmph.

Are you telling that all 150cc bikes will do speedo error after reaching 121 kms or its a bug in GS150R only eek::

as many of us crossed 120 kmph barrier i didn't seen this as a error

Next time if some one tested with a GPS dont call it as a GPS error at high speed

I am asking you to post in suzuki website because it will make things faster else you could always contact the dealer if you have good going with the SVC guys. Also regarding engine oil you can try gulf and Motul 3000T Plus 20w40 i have used gulf till 2.5k kms it was good now it has lost its color and i will be trying motul as some of the guys have used it and have told it is good.

At least gulf was better than Castrol for sure.Well i myself do about 70+ Kms daily the ride comfort is awesome when i hit the expressway and regarding some talked about not so good Stock tires i actually didn't face any issue since it was heavy downpour for past week in Delhi and 1 week i have driven in insane rain and the Grip was very good no issues.
Thanks adI for your suggestions, I'll opt for motul oil this time and see the performance .

i had no time to request for the rectifier thingy online, let me try my luck requesting it to the dealer straight away.

All bikes/cars will have speedo error. If you had read any road tests in magazines, you can see the true speeds and speedo-indicated speeds given. The error percentage will be high at higher speeds. At triple digits, the speedo error will be anywhere between 7-12%.

Exception: The new ZMR has contact less sensor, and it will show accurate speeds even at higher speeds.

I guess I had ACI road test of GS150R and I will give you the speedo error for GS150R if I find the issue.
