I keep the cable lock tied to the seat net on my bike and then lock it with the pillion grab rail.Originally posted by sameershiraj View PostOh! So we can store it inside the seat and when we want I t we can attach to the tail of the Bike.... Right? Genius
And Shiraj bhai...........dont be so concerned about mileage on your new bike. The factory carb settings is tuned so that you get the required mileage during the run-in.
Apart from that,tips for mileage.
1.Switch off the engine whenever you are at traffic lights and wait for the green light.Don't keep idling at traffic lights,it wastes fuel.
2.Use of excessive clutch and brake decreases mileage.......so try to avoid it as much as possible.
3.Whenever you start the day with your bike, try always to warm up your vehicle before you move.In the morning, start the engine and keep it running for 2minutes atleast without any throttle. Then you can move off......for first 2-3kms ride @30-35kmph,then operate your bike normally.Make it a habit of doing this process daily and you would have a superbly performing and efficient bike.
4.Fast acceleration from rest wastes fuel.Avoid it unless and until its inevitable.
5.Always turn the fuel-cock to off position when the bike is not in use.
6.While Refueling, always turn the fuel-cock to off position and refill.
7.Try to park the bike under shade, away from the sunlight.Sunlight evaporates fuel.
Hope these helps.Last edited by MACH50; 09-01-2010, 12:52 PM.Hell's Angel

Ya, I just tried to use the 'Contact us' link in the website to ask about the BA regulator replacement. I was unable to submit the query. It says some crap about the email ID. Very IrritatingOriginally posted by adi231189 View Post
Also now i am really started to getting some serious sounds from my Gs. Too much noise it sounds like as if a grinder is running below me. To top that suzuki website is not working can't complain to them at all,I am thinking of contacting their office directly but i think that might not work.

But can i ride at 20-30 km because lot of traffic in my area. Will this reduce mileage. Say at 3rd and 4th gear without crossing 4.5K RPM
Here is my bike's Album! Plz check it out

Constant low speed is delirious to engine,it should be avoided.Ride like this,speed-up and slow down.Vary it instead.Use 2nd and 3rd gear to travel at 20-30kmph.High gears and low speeds wastes fuel.Originally posted by sameershiraj View PostWow! Thanks for the useful tips bro! Much appreciated

I think so.Originally posted by animeher View PostMach50, I tried to tune the carb, but when the bike has run say 10-15 kms, the idling settles at 1.6k. It is ok?
it would be 1600rpm on well heated engine(caused due to prolonged riding and racing) and would be 1400rpm on start up after the engine is let to cool by turning it of after prolonged operation.Hell's Angel

My bad lack i didn't get Gulf or Motul so i went with shell Advance fast trac which i will most probably change since not sure how good it is might even try Castrol power 1 If i get a genuine Pack.
@Mach that is not the case with me atleast my Engine RPM even when the engine is quite warm doesn't cross 1400 Ever.

@ Adi
your RPM is normal only no need to bother
Go for shell and don't use the castrol power one its waste.
This morning left my GS for 4th service
I believe slingshot alloy wheels aren't be good for GS as the wheel is having slimmer spokes
And you have to sacrifice front diskbreak for it
seen slingshot at showroom today on photos it looks such crap but if you see it directly looks good that's the only muscular bike with in 125 cc it seems
Even petrol tank is not like GS its different and muscular
Speedo looks decent.
Front view is like a naked street bike
Let me try a test drive tomorrowSarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity

@ adiOriginally posted by adi231189 View PostThanks guys will look into it though sound of bike has become louder from last service.
From where the sound comes from engine or silencer?
Just check it once after the oil change, Coz after changing to motul my engine is damn smooth and sound is cool.
With castrol (SVC) oil I would call the engine sound is like a roaring lion
If its engine akfara is our subject matter expert
If its somthing else we have our all rounded anup whozzz in break and will respond to you on pm.
@ Mihir
Even if the bike is fit its not good for a man to drive continually for 160 kms am sure you will take 15 mins break on ever 50 kms
That's enough for your GS to cool down say thanks to its jet cooling system
Don't drive in constant speed keep varriying up or down
Hope you already got all necessary stuffs for the long trip
+ extra tube
+ emergency puncture kit
+ dry fruits
+ snickers etc...Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity
