    • @Madhu:

Supposedly, the veedol super swift is semi synthetic and its better than the veedol mineral oil provided at the service centers.
(i read this in engine oils thread, never used the oil so cant be too sure, its still a veedol)

When are you planning to buy the LEDs for your bike ? i can tag along if you're buying it anytime after september 17th, i'm busy till then.

@Adi: what is the oil level when you add 1 litre after putting a new oil filter ?
Does it come all the way to the "F" mark ?

I saw some of the bills from my previous services, they had charged me for 1.1 litres of oil during those services, now i'm getting a doubt if they are overcharging for oil change at the SC and putting only 1 litre.

Hmmm even castrol semi synthetic doesn't last more than 700 kms for me, i heard veedol semi synthetic is not as good as castrol

Dont believe the SC billing once they mentioned scooter grade oil in my second service bill did asked them said its SC oil for GS (castrol 20w -40 oil only) and they always charge 250 for oil change, as usual changed the oil on the very next day

Pls dont remove it as it will very dirty and the mud will cause wear and tear. The life of the chain will decrease. Also, ull have to lubricate it very often.

Ok, keep in touch.. Even i'll be free from 17th to 28th, we can go searching for appropriate LEDs for the bike.

Luckily i've stopped using the SC oils now, no worries about them pouring any wrong oil in the bike.

@manubhat: Are you sure the charge 212 only in KH road ? check the bill again, i think after tax the cost will be around 233 in the last column of the bill..

the total bill was 314 and the tax was [38+4] added at the end.. so its 355...
not sure whats the tax for oil...
                      here is the break up..
                      oil filter-30.42
                      engine oil-212.38
                      consumables-39.65
                      gen polish-31.73

                      total-314.06
                      vat[13.5]-38.12
                      service tax-3.5
so total rounded off to 355/---

I hope no electricals are covered under warranty. Only battery will be.

in a bike only the engine & things related to it are covered under the warranty. For example the starter motor is included in the warranty. No other electricals are covered under the warranty. If you are thinking of any modification to the bike then i would recommend you to once consult the SC.

I doubt if even the battery is covered under warranty.

Mileage can't be constant on any vehicle because of the following:

                                * We aren't riding the bike in the same mood everyday. (This isn't constant).
                                * We aren't riding the bike on the same road everyday.
                                * We don't have the same sort of traffic everyday.
                                * we don't have enough patience to drive the bike at the same speed everytime.
                                * and the last our (including pillion rider) weight doesn't remain constant always.

So instead ask for average mileage not constant.

Am getting an average of 60 kmpl nowadays just service my GS our SVC may detuned my settings have to check again.

Change is the only constant thing in the universe.
