i asked him to tightened the chain.. since it was very loose. and again today i went to that mechanic shop & reported this problem.. he checked it again.. and told me the chain is with the correct play.. and after few riding.. i that rough feeling subside bit. but what would be the problem.. now i think.. its not due to chain.. its from engine.. bcoz it will feel more when the rpm comes around 2k and at that rough spot 3.2k. i think the change of oil (gulf 4t 20w40) doing the trick.. but i dont know its on positive side or negative side. and i couldnt get the smoothness with this oil as our members told.. but somewhat improved. have to test in long rideOriginally posted by Anupdas View Post

Fuse Issue
Hi All!!!
I have a new problem!!! I don't remember seeing this issue before in our forum... So need your advice and suggestion.
I took back my vehicle from Second service, arnd 10 days ago and went straight to ulsoor for a meeting. Nothing special or different happened on the way and I was driving in normal speed only. Vehicle was parked for 45 mins. When I came back down and put the key inside, the bike was completely dead....
... No display, no horn, no button start. Tried kicking the bike 10 - 15 times and It didn't start
(Normally I kick start the first time in the morning and it starts in just single kick).
Immediately called Airport road service centre. After asking me to check a few wires and to do a few things that I had already done, they sent a mechanic (who came even without a star screwdriver). He finally opened the side frame (the one covering our open -reserve knob) and told me the fuse was gone. He replace it and bike started immediately. I went to Bannerghatta Road for another meeting from there.
After 1 & half hour when I came back and put the key, the same thing happened ... no display....dead and no kick start...... [It has off late become standard to have surprises when I take the bike back from SC]. Pushed the bike for 20 mins
and reached a mechanic shop. He connected the two points with a wire. It literally blew off on our face when he put the key.....
So he tried a thicker wire and the bike started. Came back and left it in Airport Road Suzuki for another day. After I took it back, all was well till this morning.....Nearly a week no issues. Today morning when I turned the key ON....buzzzz ..... nothing......dead again and again Kick was not working....
Since I had already seen them changing it twice I changed it myself and left it at the service station. 3 times in 10 days......
I hope it gets resolved this time. The SC guys are polite and they obviously knowledgeable too. And they assure that things will be fine this time..... but I am seriously loosing my cool slowly.
Have any of you faced this or any of you have any idea what could have happened
. I sure something getting shorted inside.... Please suggest me if any outside mechanic can help me in this. I live in Murugeshpalya. But, I am OK to take to any area.... Please help

@Baala:
Some wires would have short circuited around the battery..
Tell them to check the wiring of the entire bike..
Thats the only way out i think..
And dont try directly connecting the 2 ends of the fuse with a wire ever..
Thats very dangerous.. you could spoil every bulb/LED in the bike and the battery too !
@all:
where exactly is this window to check the play of the chain ?
And even the markings on the swing arm axle bolt ? i've never noticed it.

My bike's fuse had blown out once.....because i had done some changes in wiring as i had put some led's n stuff.........when i put the key therre was no display and neither any lights were working nor bike was self starting but tried kickstarting it and it started...........anyways..always keep a spare fuse with you...as you dont know when you'll need it.........and a similar advice......ask the svc guy to check the entire wiring........provided you have not done anything which will void your electricals warranty......

looks like madhu bhai is omnipresent nowadays
p.s Today hit my top speed of 108km/h reached the speed easily at around 8k RPM no vibes and if i had opened the throttle more sure would have gained a lot more but kept it on control. After that Riding at 60km/h was looking to slow

Welcome to GSpian community ManuOriginally posted by manubhat View Posthey guyz after lot of confusions, finally made up my mind and got my first bike today.........
, soon you will understand the meaning of "Drive Me Crazy"
.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Guys, got my babe after 4th service. It seemed like I was seeing my bike for first time. The only thing they did was to tighten the chain but as Amitine said earlier, even this small adjustment can change bikes behaviour. I asked them to check the tappet clearance(as next 2 services are paid
) and they didn't even bother to look saying its not needed(Kam chor
). The sound from chain have increased, the mechanic said its very normal to have that sound. But I'm very sure, this sound is not there in Uni and FZ
.
The roughness at 3.2K is engine resonance and its present in every GS, this will reduce with time. Mine covered 7K and it is much less. The vibration in 2K is simply because you are using higher gear, by the way what is the need to care for roughness in such low rpm, just rev past them and maintain rpm within 4-4.5K range. Always downshift when the engine rpm goes below 3.5k, by the time we release the throttle, pull the clutch and select the gear the engine rpm will reduce and we need to shift two gears instead of oneOriginally posted by Arun Prasad View PostNow i think.. its not due to chain.. its from engine.. because it will feel more when the rpm comes around 2k and at that rough spot 3.2 K.
.
Bro havent you seen a round rubber like cap in the lower chain guardOriginally posted by thefalcon View Postwhere exactly is this window to check the play of the chain ?
And even the markings on the swing arm axle bolt ? I've never noticed it.
. Remove it and try lifting the chain with finger. If your cant touch the upper portion of the ring then your chain don't have required play and if it still moves further the chain needs tightening. Simple but effective
Look carefully around the wheel nut and you will see the markings
.
That's a wise investment, but nothing will help if you keep on riding in those speeds. Ride safe.............Originally posted by Maestro View Postlolz.........nice to see people here keeping their desires in control........but thats not the case with me atleast for today.......hopefully it was not raining today and it compelled me to do so.....touched 122kmph in eco mode.....(gifted myself a DSG maze riding jacket, cramster trg2 full gauntlet gloves, cramster knee guards today......)Last edited by Anupdas; 07-19-2010, 10:29 PM.Well-trained reflexes are quicker than luck.........
