      That's the way a counter balancer works and i am sure thats the case with gs150 too.This balancing gear is set to mesh at a particular position in relation to the crank of the engine designed and if this is set in a different position it wont be effective and vibes become prominent.

      • need help!

        hey guys i need help with my drive chain and sporket,i changed my tire to 110/90 zapper q,its been 2or3 months,now the chain is very losse and sporket has woren off, i had the mechanic removed some of the links and now hes saying the drivechain and sporket are worn off u need to replace them,i covered 8600km so far,i want to replace the sporket and drive chain,i dont want to go back to the ones given by the factory,can any one help with any other alternate drivechain and sporket along with it, URGENT!

            guys look at the gear ratio:

            gs gear ratio :
            1st-3
            2nd-1.75
            3rd-1.3
            4th-1.091
            5th-0.957
            6th-0.833

            r15 gear ratio:

            1st-2.833
            2nd-1.875
            3rd-1.364
            4th-1.143
            5th-0.957
            6th-0.84

            both gs and r15 have similar type gear ratio.i think if we
            boost 14.4ps@8500rpm to 17.3ps@8000 then our gs can match 4-valve beauty.
            can this be possible with our gs and what should we do for that?

              No buddy, the engine number is not inscribed on the bore kit, its inscribed below it, (near the place where we put engine oil), so those things would remain same even with the replacement of the bore.

                  What you missed by a large margin is the substantial weight difference,riding posture and the fabricated race focused engine of the R15.
                  What I mean is that a GS can never be a R15 nor a R15 could ever be a GS.
                  Our GS is a SUV among bikes and the R15 is a sports hatch among bikes.
                  You sit higher on GS,cutting down wind advantage bt gaining more cruise ability,while you sit lower on R15 enable full wind ability for better top speeds.

                  What you really missed after all these inevitable facts is that,our GS sports an air-cooled 2V engine......how can you make a 13.8bhp go 16.7bhp without losing the very character of the bike????
                  without boring to 175cc??? without installing free flow exhaust ????
                  But the R15 would still be stock......so it would feel awkward if we run GS that modded to chase a R15 down.
                  So its better to let go of the bhp figures and feed the engine its way.
                  I mean if you only go upjetting and KN ,without losing the cruise character of the GS you would be comfortably chasing down a R15 cruising.

                  How I clarified???
                  My friend uses a RTR160 which he has upjetted from stock BS26 ,its the same carb on our GS and has used the KN too.He beats the R15 hands down on an open road,both bikes redlined.He overtakes the R15 with 129kmph on the speedo and rides of.His top speed is now around 132kmph.
                  Now,the 160cc machine is lighter and more powerful in stock than our own GS.So GS wont be good for a 132kmph............but I am sure with upjetting and KN with will cruise smoothly around 127-128kmph,since a stock GS does a good and a quick 119kmph almost all the time.Fit irridium in it,you would be riding a smooth Karizma......Hope you all find it useful.I would be using these mods on my bike by the time this week is over

                    • Can Anyone please tell me what is the major difference between the BA & the CA series rectifiers ??? I am really confused...as of now mine is a 2009 model it has BA series, but has no problem even for charging the battery after using the powerful HID for long hours...

                      If i change the rectifier to CA...then can i find a significant improvement in the charging of the battery ????

                      Also i have completed 7800kms on the ODO....servicing due from last month..should i go for the Motul semi synth oil ??? or stick to the SVC castrol ??? facing same problems as everyone did.....ENGINE ROUGHNESS.. also getting irritated with the chain noise coz of loosening....and the kweek kweek noise coming from the rear...cannot spot out from where the actual sound in coming...

                      PLEASE HELP GUYS

                        Yes there is improvement in BA or AA to CA series...(Me changed to AA to CA)....But i don't know using HID will improve or not ,as u may connect in DC
                        But My advise is to ask ur dealer to put CA series under warranty...If any case if u want to move from HID to Normal bulb in future...u need CA and warranty is there for 2 years.afterwards u have to pay for it....
                        Motul semi synth is not avail everywhere with 15w 40 or 10w 40...Most of GS owner tells only 15w 50 is avail which is not recommended for GS...
                        Kweek kweek noise pls check ur suspension ...or water inside brake shoe(rear) gives this sound

                        • Self start problem

                          Hi friends,
                          I have 2009 GS and i completed 10.5K so far and i completed 5 services for my bike.
                          since last month i face a problem that self start never works, i thought due to monsoon this may not work, but now a days it becomes serious issue to me, last day (sunday) i ride sion to kalyan after reaching kalyan i stopped to have a tea, after that i used self start it doesn't worked, even after riding 50mins continuously. i used more than 5 times to start. no use. every time when i press self start my digital console blinks, clears the mode, changes trip to ODO and i heard a little noise from engine. is there any problem in Battery? my friend says if there is a problem in battery your horn will not work? is it true? GSpians please help me....

                          • If the battery is problematic, horns will show the effect. If horns work perfectly, then there is a problem in the starter.

                                If horns works perfectly then there is also possible with Engine kill switch..loose contacts(due to weather or some reasons)..Its happen to me due to engine kill switch,but after some days it works(self) due to lot of sun...
                                my mech told to clean the contacts
                                And as console resetting also happens to me 3 months before....I changed battery and now works fine...
