I liked GS but will never compromise on quality esp. on the International products.

I was just going thru the owners comments if u want me to quit this post I will, looks like GS plp just want to be in thr own well and apologies for trespassing
Raghav........you are commenting only on the minor niggles reported.which are common in any bike...donot you know the problems of initial spoke wheeled unicorn......than why are you envolping yourself in this narrow minor well...open your mind with wide eyes and also do comment on the all praises that are showered on gs not only in the site but also by bike magazines which rated gs ahead of uni

      • @Raghav R:if my opinion seems ridiculous to you, then it seems ridiculous to me that you are commenting on the maintainence of Superbikes and Supercars without even knowing what amount of tech goes into it and on these vehicles changing engine oil is not even a maintainence thing. Its more complicated than that. There are thousand other boxes to check on a maintainence list before engine oil issue...........and we pay for all those tech,if we buy one of those.More the money we invest-more the maintainence, its general rule.I am no God to change that.

If your Unicorn's carb gets clogged, its rectified easy at SVC.
When my friend's Fireblade got clogged due to vaccum creation in one of those injectors(caused due to adulterated fuel),its entire Fi Unit was sent to Honda Motors in Gurgaon to get checked, and then to Japan to get replaced or repaired.........A man doesnt talks out of his hat, there are reasons.

@Arish.......great ride, but still ya dint clock 120kmph .....but I think thats better than most 150ccs in the market.GS is totally smooth even at its top end.

          + one to that......
It is not just changing oil, there are lot more other things...
Superbikes need more qualified n trained people to handle it well, so labour cost is also high.... Any machine on this earth requires maintenance, in business more the machine value, more the labour cost is...

And look i own a initial batch of GS150 and is giving lot of problems, But in spite of all these issues, i still love this bike

+1 next time try some other placed where we have less or no crosswind.

              • Mileage problem???

Hi Guyz! Nice to speak with you again after long. Finished 300kms in my two weeks old GS.

I gotta say, it was superb experience and I love the way it sounds and engine seems so refined.

For the first time my bike came to stop after R-R method today. Noted that mileage was 40kmpl. Is it good for first noting of mileage???. Iam not tensed or something but will it improve after the first service???

<Help me out guyz> Our GS150R forum is going down the table. Even Gladiator is above us!!!

thr has been this adjusting attitude of Indians giv a hard reply to the OEM take premium but giv us a hassle free bike afterall its not a R15 either.
Look at Honda, they just released one bike and just the word of mouth made it a direct competitor to the Pulsar.
Plp have been ridin the engine for 5yrs but bloody engine doesnot make any noise.
I guess GS is still behind the Unicorn when it comes to engine and the quality of the bike material used.
honda is trying to fool us with their refined engine why cant they put a engine kill switch and LED TAIL LAMP in thier bike when other mfg does(with a price tag of 73k). regarding that i will give better place for suzuki.

                  • guys guys guys............. whats going on here???? I could see lots of hatred by owners towards GS

I bought my GS on April 17, 2009.... Today I crossed the 9999km mark on my ODO ... Here are my views and perceptions about my GS

Ya. I do agree that the engine roughness is there. The initial smoothness which i felt when i bought this bike is missing now.. But I am damn sure that the roughness is very less when compared to other 150cc competitors (except the UNI)... UNI is more than 5 years in india... All its initial problems were corrected gradually... our is just 2 years in the market.. I am sure that after 1 or 2 years GS will be a perfect one without any glitches.

Even I got my piston and bore changed under warranty in my bike but I didnt feel any difference... It means the nature of GS engine is as such and because of some issue in particular batch, SUZUKI has changed the bore and piston of entire 2009 batch.. This is customer service. The same thing seems to happened for Access scooter also.. Some batch of access had issues in clutch so SUZUKI changed all the clutch thing for all the access they sold in a whole batch. I got this info from a service center guy.

its SUZUKI guys... They are here for quality... They are super bike manufacturers guys and they are struggling to arrive at a perfect bike for india (maybe trainees are doing the design for Suzuki india).. Soon they will be competing with the Hondas and bajaj.. The day is not far away.

I love my bike. Its my first bike. I bought this out of my hard earned money. Its gives me a comfortable ride,Good mileage (50 - 55), a 6th cog for cruising, digital speedo, LED tails... I have enjoyed all the features of this bike....

GS gives a big bike feel... GS has got a very good road presence...The big bike thing which makes all other bikes look tiny

Love your bike that will make you forget all the little glitches that you people keep on lamenting here..

Whoever interested in buying this bike will surely land into our thread... You guys are misleading everyone

Love your bike.. Enjoy your ride

For calculating R-R mileage, make sure you follow this. GS is famous for giving false signal of shifting to reserve. Suppose you are riding and the bike shifts to reserve, ride a few more kms and shift the knob back to ON. Mostly, it will still go on 9-10 kms more!

That's Awesome Bro. Is it a Ferrari Formula 1 Car Prototype ? I am a avid follower of F1 and would love to have 1 with me. But the bad news is that majority of the Shell Pumps in the Pune City Limits have closed down. I guess only one or two pumps are running in the Outskirts.

Can you post a Pic of the Car if possible.

I envy you i need that car but anyway i am in Delhi will hopefully catch Shumi Live in the Indian GP scheduled in oct 2011

Any way MSN bhai i have same settings of idle and i love it since it makes the whole bike less noisy even though it is already less.

So i also asked my local mech he told the idle is perfect.

Got my oil changed today to Motul 3000T Plus 20w40 Rich golden color and also changed the oil filter which was pretty much clogged.I poured in 1L and it was enough with filter change.

To all those worrying about the engine of GS and what not guys we need to remember at the end of the day it is still a machine bound to get some issues. A few niggles hardly makes it a bad bike look at the overall positives it has.

I am very happy with my GS just loving it after last service the Bike has become super smooth and it is in one word just ' Magnificent' .

@animeher is right he is one of the guys who has had a 09 model and everytime i talked to him he has told only one thing don't carry any perception when i asked him about the bike before i bought my GS.

And he is absolutely right. If one guy has a issue doesn't mean the other will have the issue as well.

p.s after a little bit of carb tune from my SVC(yes i asked the SVC to do it) since the guy who does my service is very good and now my bike is returning mileage of more than 52 which i am happy about

                              • gud bike bt some probs with chain sprockets..

hey all i got a suzuki gs150r around 5 months back and done arnd 6500kms. till now the overall the bike is good really comfortable a decent mileage and the sixth gear is a boon..but m finding great troubles with chain sprockets lately..should'nt specify chain sprockets as such because my chain loosens very frequently and a "tak" sound comes from the back wheel, the location of the sprockets..the service guys told me that may be because of the rubber coupling.. got that changed even the problem persists..and the bike is really good for plains..sixth gear cruising is like really heavenly..but when it comes to hills, it really sucks a big time. not at all gud for riding uphill. took my fren's pulsar last week to the same road..where the pulsar can easily pull in 4th or 5th gear i have to put 3rd or sometimes even 2nd gear in my suzuki..not satisfied with pick up at hills..
