I too use Halonix HS1 Ultrablue........it just emits a whiter light, and doesnt increases the intensity. Its rather all cool looking than cool utility.

Hi I brought it for Rs. 67700 on road with accessories (From Dolphin Suzuki). I am registered it in navi mumbai. So for mumbai it is in between 69K and 70K.

        • @ mayur,

I would say the said problems in the old model GS is not it 2010 model and the last batch of 2009 batch GS also seems to be fine.

Moreover listout your requirement, take a test drive on all the bikes you short listed (test drive means at least 5 kms)
          Then decide.

If your heart says GS then go for it.

          ---------------------------------------

Suraj bhai earlier in this thread anup discussed somewhere on the break its a small componunt causing this so go back to SVC narrate your recurring issue, I hope this time you will get a fix for it.

Today I was travelling with my kid at 45 kmph suddenly a student crossed in front of me applied back first and with in few seconds applied front it stops almost with in 1 meter all are safe.

There are places to drive faster and on city we should be alert enough to control the unexpected events.

Rear Brakes on the GSR are lemon.........they are so dumb, that I doubt if they help in atleast 10% braking.Had not been the front disc been so good, most of us would have skidded away to ecstasy.

I got used to the rear brakes, they are very unnerving. So I slam it all the way down. They are so useless that every chances of rear wheel lock up can be ruled out.but atleast it aids in some braking when pushed all the way down.
I think going for affordable rear disc would be a good buy.

              welcome to GSR hub.
Your problem seems to be peculiar, usually when the engine gets started, the rpm needle starts moving.
And apart from these what are your observations? pick up, mileage, and vibes(almost common), and offcourse headlights etc...why dont you update with pics ?
Thanx. I will update pics this weekend. I haven't tested mileage and pickup fully. I will do pickup/vibes test on my bike this weekend. I didnt deel any special vibes b/w 3K- 4K rpm. any way i will test it again.

Ok compared to The OEM Halonix HS1 V/s Ulta blue HS1 ...is that intensity is same or reduced one

Yesterday rode my friend's RTR 160 and impressed by rear break(rear drum brake as sharp as GSR front disc break). No matter how much the SVC guys tune, it will not be enough since GSR brakes are made that way. So iam planning to put a disc break for rear wheel or other changes. Any tips from you guys???

                  (I just need better brakes)
i remember that some discussion was going on like if you put more powerful rear brake in our bike, it will skid..actually some guys in this thread mentioned like the bike skidded while they were applying the rear brake so hard..even i had experience while i was applying rear brake alone (without disc) so hardly, the rear part of the bike skidded but i managed to not fall..i think old members in this thread could help you out..i don't remember in which page that discussion is there..

Intensity is same..........wavelength of light is different, you only get noticed.....no use to you for riding fast in the dark, thats all.

OK For GS150 They make each bike different(only certain 2009 models)

consult a good mechanic..make him to ride your bike and also check the brakes..but i personally feel that if you learn how to stop your bike with both front and disc, the modification won't be needed..rear brake is to slow and front brake is to stop..that's how i'm using...

                        • For more light intensity from same power (35w) bulb, use osram nightbreaker (expensive) or philips xtreme power (marginally less expensive)

Will Rear disk brake actually solve this problem ??? If yes then which brand should i go for ??? As it must be a direct fit to our GSR....

                            • On ultrablue light no such big change between Default one.

But in terms of low light ultrablue is 100 times better than default bulb.

Regardging the back break , my openion is :

Back and front breaks are like husband and wife.
If both are sharp means it is not good if both are dumb then no use one should be dumb is apt one.

In GS husband (front break) is good and back (wife) is dumb. I feel thats the right combination.

The rear brakes are supposed to be less responsive because if they have too much bite, the rear will lock up unnecessarily and lead to undesirably dangerous situations. The locking up is due to the front weight bias in the bike.

Actually I never use my rear brakes unless there is:
                                #1 A panic braking situation.
                                #2 Gravel.
                                #3 Wet road.

On dry tarmac, we have no business to ever use the rear brakes. There is a reason why there is a disc up front and a drum in the rear.
