Oil change with or without oil filter:

1. 1 litter oil is good but even 900 ml is ok for oil change. (Refer manual)

2. Oil filter change just 1 litter is fine (again refer manual)

3. Switching from mineral to synth needs filter change.

4. Switching to semi-synthetic from mineral doesn't actually needs filter change.

5. Switch between brands but both are mineral means its fine, no need for filter change but if you wish to do means yes you can,

6. Just refer manual on how to inspect oil level.

For your information: currently am using only 900 ml motul oil and haven't got any issues

if you check oil immediately after service at service center the color as well as level will be incorrect and level will show lesser. Just drive as usual park it on side stand wait for 5 minutes just tilt the bike to center stand position (don't put center stand, just ask some one to hold the bike in up right position) and check the oil level.

Hi guys,

I am sivakumar from bangalore... I gave my bike for first service at 650 km now i completed 1500 km. Once engine gets heat there will be no smoothness, so i went and asked the service center guy. Then we went for test ride.. He told its oil problem and suggested me to take Oil by ur own and change it from here. He referred me to go castrol synthetic oil. Can u guys tell which oil i can change for my bike and when.
One more problem i am facing is engine tappet sound. I asked SC guy, he told me that it happen for new bike. If they do any adjustment it will drop mileage. Is it true guys? day by day tappet sound is increasing.

Suggest me wot to do next.

Any sound from engine or bike is not tappet sound,
Till 2500 kms we should treat the bike as it is in run in period so just don't bother much on sound untill its wierd or annoying.

Let the bike settle down on its own time.....

Do not go for synthetic before 8000 kms on odo.

Try motul mineral oil motul 3000 plus 20W-40 your bike will go ubber smooth and engine sound will be cool and of course engine temperature also goes cool.......>

Mine 2009 model i too got tappet noise(tic tic tic tic in idling as well as driving) I thought its tappet noise ,heard it in hero honda and some bikes...after telling that to SVC after long time tappet adjust tool arrived from main SVC to sub svc...adjusted tappet and found it still exists...while one R15 brother told me its should be CAM chain sound... So mech adjusted CAM chain and i got tic tic to "MMMMM MMMMMMM MMMMM hamming sound .....then revert back the CAM chain settings and tic tic starts...while changing Bore and piston my svc changed the CAM chain too and found the tic tic tic sound disappeared .....I don't know any 2010 model have issue's including CAM chain.....So tappet and cam chain ...check both

guys today i got a call frm svc and when i approached them they checked my bike thoroughly and said that the bikes head will be replaced even my bike is 2009 model i think a lot of problems exists in this 2009 model

nyway i am happy that they r replacing my bikes cylinder head

my father is yelling at me "ur taking more care of ur bike

and at 9700kms itself ur bike engine got damaged

" he himself agreed and bought me that bike

hope no issues exist after replacing the head

dude at present they dnt hav stock he said he will order the part and cal me back

and regarding the call i gave a complaint in suzuki website so morning i got a call frm svc

A quick update..
1. Done 11th paid service yesterday. (15900 on the odo)
2. changed oil (Motul 20W40 is uber smooth.

I did not notice the first time I changed but the second time I put motul, I felt the diff...)
3. My 10th service was due on the first week of september. but I did not give for service due to time constraints

. I went to the service centre and he did not use the 10 service coupon but the 11th..

.. I would like to know if this would void the warranty. kindly update me on this.
4. Gears have smoothened

but the second gear is still a problem. I guess the loud thud comes when we do a bad shift(at the wrong time), since I've done smooth shifts to the second from first. IMO, we all need to master shifting. kindly correct me here if I'm wrong.
5. The non-uniformity problem of petrol flow after 15-20 kms of ride is still present which irritates me

... I need to followup with the higher authorities to get it done...

Hi, Madhu bro i came to see a thread regarding the bulb you are using, Halonix HS1 ultrablue..here's the link http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/desi-bik...tml#post144522 but, despite all the criticisms i'm going for this bulb..today i will buy it and will install two days later..what is your opinion about this bulb bro..does it increases the visibility..shall i go for it or should i wait and install HID..i do ride at night sometimes in highways and i always ride with low beam.
and also what is the specification and price of LED's for pilot lamp..

By late I do realised that

What they discussed was true if we cant get other options such as osram .

This is the cheap and best option, Left for us till we get hid.
