Checked all the lamps and blinkers, they seemed to be working fine. But that's an odd placement for any component, don't you think?

Can you post a picture? It might be a capacitor. On most bikes, it is located below the air filter. It just smoothens the DC output, so you won't notice anything changing in the bulbs or blinkers. It is not a critical component, and many would not even notice if it is present and/or working.

Instead of fixing too many or extra gadgets on the bike and relaying on them much often will distract your concentration from driving like how speaking / SMSing on mobile does.

the best and simple way is if you are not sure of the route to your destination, never hesitate to ask at least three or four people on the way to your destination

before starting a long trip journey i used to take a Google map hard copy of the route with me, and while traveling i ask the co passenger to check the map and tell the route, in case both are confused i will ask the people whom i met on the way to my destination

Thanks for the advice buddy, I really concentrate on the road while driving(I never read names of the shops, or whats newly opened on the road I daily travel) and I stop my bike on side of the road before watching anything in the map, but still, I think watching compass is just like watching the speed of the bike in speedometer, so it wont be a distraction but an aid in this sense......

Maybe the ahmedabad people didn't login....

The ASS of Suzuki in big cities are good enough than Honda......also since you mentioned you are a tourer the only problem you will face is the headlight.....whic can be modded on simple way.....
Also in latest batch all the small niggles have been rectified.....
Mine is a 2009 model and it still is going strong.....

What we did is this: Rewound the stator coil with 18 or 19 gauge winding wire, replaced the RR with that of Ape three wheeler, connected the AC voltage from the stator coil to the new RR and the DC from it to the battery to recharge it and connected all the electrical including headlight to the battery. After that, we replaced the stock headlight bulb with Osram Night Breaker or Philips Xtreme Vision 55/60 watt bulb.
The result, though not as great as the result of the former method, is satisfactory. Try it.
Thanks bro, wil try it and really need to . The brightness is too low.

if you need more powerful headlight beam means follow what mahesh and punarvasu says

if focusing is the issue then contact SVC to retune the focus if not satisfied try replacing the reflector

                    • ABS for my GS

                      Hi
This is a small update for my GS.
This is procured from Saferide Mumbai. Pls share if you have any idea/experience of ABS on our GS. Have any one thought of rear disc mod to accomodate an ABS in the rear?

One more thing about GS, I feel that even at lower speed, without applying breakes, the rear tyre tends to skid a litlte (on sand/mud/etc). It has a small lateral movement, though managable at lower speed but challange the confidence everytime. Dont know if the culprit is Zapper Y or anything else. Any idea?

How much did you pay for it? An online website quoted Rs.1800/- for a similar mechanical unit. However, I am a little skeptical about relying on this unit.

I also enquired about the rear disk mod and a local mechanic told me it would cost about 12k Rs for it. This pushed the plan out of my mind.

As far as I know, it is a waste and using it is not safe.

A small accident happened today. My bike skidded on the gravel roadside today while riding with a pillion rider. He rolled over me and my lap top, breaking its display and landed a few feet away with broken leg. It is plastered and he is advised to take rest for the next 45 days.
Besides the lap top, these are the losses:

Planning to claim insurance for the headlight assembly tomorrow.

                          • Buying New GS

                            Hi,
I booked my GS on 13th Feb. I was informed that new load has to come for my delivery since white was not in the stock.
Today I got a call from the dealer that, one cancellation has happened and my bike is available now. But the new load hasn't come yet, it will come after one week.
Can there anything suspicious about this?
I am from Calicut and I got good reception and care from the dealer when I went for enquiry and TD for GS.
Here I have two choices, I can take this one or can wait for the new load to come.
(Please excuse me if my thoughts are wrong)
